We had a great one night stay. Room was very comfortable and quiet and had everything we needed for the night. Breakfast was excellent. Hubby was very happy with his freshly cooked gluten free breakfast and toast. Free parking round the corner and a short walk to the town centre.

Within an easy walk of the town centre, with a non restricted time period dead end road at the rear of the property for on street parking . Be aware you get sent a text about letting to let your self into the property . It's not a reception hotel, but it was easy and worked. The room was very generous, nicely furnished with some nice touches like fresh milk and bottles of water . All very clean . This is someone's house, turned into a 5 room hotel . The landlord was around at breakfast . Really nice guy and a terrific breakfast , but on text if you needed him.

The location was good, ten minutes walk to the centre of Alnwick. Easy to find and park. The breakfast was good, plenty of choice and good quality. Bed was comfy.
The house was cold, there was no one there when I arrived nor that night at about 4pm. Heating was on but it was only at 17 degrees and never got any warmer. I was out a concert in the evening and by the time I got back at 11pm the house was very cold, heating off completely. The quilt seemed like a summer quilt and there were no blankets so it was a very cold bed. Struggled to get to sleep because of the cold and that continued through the night, would manage to get to sleep then wake up feeling cold. And I'm from Scotland so used to the cold. There were no hooks on the doors to hang coats up, there was nowhere to hang towels except on the radiator. When I went down to breakfast, the owner was there and the heating was finally on. Turns out there had been a problem with the boiler but was only resolved when he got back that morning. The path leading up to the house was uneven and there was no lighting so had to be careful, especially as it had been raining. Also no light at the front door and there were three keys to choose from so wasn't easy to see the keys. Don't know how long he has owned the property and he had recently re decorated the dining room so could be there are plans to upgrade the whole property, but it felt tired and unloved.
