staff were very welcoming and helpful at all times. Rooms were great and good facilities. Particularly nice for kids to have a separate bed each and not a sofa bed. Food was very nice.

Loved our two night stay at The Oaks. 10 minutes walk into the centre. Delicious breakfast. Friendly, helpful staff. Even left a birthday card in our room for my husband's birthday. Rooms were really clean. Nice bar area.

Great location, let down by lack of investment and tired accommodation.

The location of the property is excellent for getting into town. The staff were great too! Very good Sunday roast!

The property is tired and in need of some serious investment. Toilet seat falls off the pan when you sit on it. The ceiling fan had years of dust piled up on the blades. General state of the rooms is poor and in need of complete redecoration. Windows rotten and falling apart. Bed was rock hard and uncomfortable making it impossible to get a good nights sleep. Cooked breakfast wasn’t good either, cold beans, bacon that’s barely cooked, hash brown that’s cold and dripping with fat, a disappointing start to anyone’s day. Overall, an expensive and disappointing experience.

We could have a good pub meal for dinner, parking was secure and free. Room size was good and bathroom modern.

No air conditioning. The UK hospitality industry has to quickly address the need for reverse cycle air conditioning in hotel rooms. They are too stuffy now and not even able to open windows properly means an uncomfortable all night. The hotel did supply a fan which was great as we had it on all night. Obviously a nod to the new conditions.

Great place to stay close to Alnwick town centre. Clean, comfortable and friendly

Great location for walking into Alnwick and easy to access from the A1. Parking available at the back. Nice outdoor seating area for fine weather. Staff were all very friendly and helpful. Room was very clean and comfortable and had everything we needed. It was surprisingly quiet even though it overlooked the road junction. We had lunch when we arrived and there was an excellent deal on for a 3 course lunch…and the food was lovely

Splendid!

When you have to take the ferry in Newcastle and are travelling from Scotland or the north in generalq, this is the perfect stop. A cosy hotel, with a very good cook in the kitchen (for breakfast as well as dinner), a comfortable room (in our case a spacious family room) and three splendid female hosts (sisters?) who divide the work and are all three kind, to the point, attentive but not tiresome overfriendly as in some other places. Just as it should be.

A pigeon dropped something on our car 54 seconds after arrival. But that's all.

Poorly ventilated room reached 38 C And 40C not safe for health. Yes the weather was warm but even so the room was not habitable. I had to leave and find another hotel. Noisy from something running most of the night in hotel , and traffic noise. Kettle flex didn't reach the socket had to stand it on the floor. They should not be allowed to rent out room 32. I now see other reviews have highlighted the same issues . Obviously the management don't take any notice. Towels not changed and only 1 sample size shower gel for 2 nights . Poor lighting too. Don't book this room .
