Bailiffgate Hotel

Excellent location, facilities were superb.

Nothing. Everything was just fine.

Great location. Very modern and nice room

Car park a long way from room

Great location for the castle and gardens. Good links to the rest of the north east including Bamburgh and Workworth castles, also Holy Island and the rest of the Farne Islands.

Restricted parking to the front of the hotel, which may be off putting to those travelling by private vehicles. Local authorities need to be reminded that hotels bring wealth to the area and to stop preying on its guests to generate revenues through fines. As for the hotel itself, everything was great and a second visit already planned.

What we liked ❤️ * Beautiful view from the room. * Very dog-friendly — our dog was provided with a bed, treats, a toy and bowls

What we didn’t like 👎 * Overpriced breakfast experience. We didn’t even finish it. The sausage was average, there was only one egg with a runny centre, the bacon was okay, and the black pudding was not tasty at all. * We were not told that breakfast was £25 per person — neither at check-in nor at the restaurant. We only found out afterwards. * We were told the restaurant was fully booked, but there were clearly tables available when we passed by later. * The staff were overly intrusive and attentive. This may be normal for some guests, but for us, it felt like too much and was quite uncomfortable. * Overall, we paid £269 for the room and dog, plus £50 for breakfast, and felt the experience was overpriced and not worth the money.
