The property was within easy walking distance of the town and had the fabulous view of the castle. Beautifully decorated and spacious. Kitchen was fully equipped and the bedroom was stunning with an unbelievably comfortable bed! There was a folder in the living room packed full of information which we found so useful. Parking outside was easy and we were pleasantly surprised to find that we had use of a parking permit.

We loved Alnwick and were very pleased with our accommodation.

The apartment was exactly as described - clean, comfortable, fully equipped and very well presented. It offered a splendid view of the castle from the lounge and was within easy walking distance of the shops, restaurants etc. Check-in was straightforward, as was parking, due to the detailed instructions which we received beforehand.

Excellent flat in very interesting town

Very comfortable and well-appointed flat, with modern kitchen and shower-room. Very clean and well decorated. Host messaged to check we were alright and left us some very nice goodies to eat and drink. Flat directly outside the entrance to Alnwick Castle, which was interesting. Alnwick is an interesting small town and the Castle and castle gardens are well worth a visit. Fabulous countryside around and interesting places to visit. Recommend Cragside if you like history and engineering and gardens. Residents' parking permit provided which worked well.

Slight difficulty getting into key lock-box; perhaps improved instructions necessary. Some noise from the road, but not a major problem.

The apartment and location were fantastic and the host Lynn could not have been more helpful. We had a fabulous trip and if we ever return to Northumberland would not hesitate to stay in Castle Retreat.

Lovely flat in great location. Owners left us a great selection of essentials and treats, including wine and flowers.
