Gorgeous hotel with fab staff.

Second time staying in the Cookie Jar and it didn’t disappoint. Gorgeous comfortable rooms. Good location, town center 4/5 min walk. Couldn’t say enough nicr things about the staff, so helpful and friendly.

Really friendly staff, beautifully decorated. Excellent location. Boutique feel hotel. Left us welcome gift for my husbands birthday which was a lovely touch. Fantastic size shower. Cookies were an amazing touch!

Blind broke on morning when trying to lift it. Shower could do with some attention re mould.

It was superb.

From the moment we stepped through the door we were met with friendly hospitality. The Hotel is situated right by the castle and in easy walking of the town centre. We stayed in the Linhope Spout room and it was beautiful and sumptuous. The bistro restaurant is very stylish with a delicious dinner menu. Breakfast is also very delicious with a cold buffet table and a hot menu with generous portions. We loved the jars of cookies in the bedroom.

Simply perfect! Couldn’t recommend enough

Fantastic experience from start to finish. The second we walked through the door we were welcomed. The lady on reception was friendly, informative and so very kind. She took us around the building and explained everything. The room was ready early and was immaculate. Wonderful amenities in the room and in the building. We ate lunch, which was absolutely delicious as was the breakfast. The whole building was immaculate and clean. Fantastic location and beautifully decorated. The main positive is the staff. Each and every member of staff, from check in to the cleaning staff, were friendly, smiley and always asked if we needed anything. I honestly couldn’t recommend this place more.

A perfect Autumn break.

We loved every single thing! The decor is just stunning, the breakfast sublime (have the Craster kippers) and the staff so friendly. Bed was amazingly comfortable and the room had everything we needed including a magic cookie jar. Parking off street right outside, parking permit provided by the hotel. Fantastic location near the castle but very easy walk into town. Lovely outdoors area but too cold at end of October use, can imagine it’s lovely out there in warmer month. Can thoroughly recommend, you will not be disappointed.

The staff were superb, friendly and very helpful. We had an incredible in the former chapel , very very comfortable.

There is no ability to organise a late evening drink. A really beautiful lounge it would be lovely to sit in enjoying a late evening scotch before retiring. It was a shame to not offer some kind if honesty bar .

the room temperature, and proximity to the Castle. bed was nice and pillows.

Staff very unprofessional and unprepared, i was sitting to have my breakfast myself, and after i ordered it, i saw 4 couples getting theirs and leaving the room, i was waiting for more than 45 minutes until decided leave without having my breakfast, frustrated and upset, i paid and i didn't get it.

Excellent stay at the Cookie Jar.

The staff were very pleasant, polite and helpful. It was very warm and they didn't hesitate in getting us a large fan and lots of ice. We stayed in the chapel suit for our wedding night, and it felt very opulent. The room is massive and has loads of lovely features such as stained glass windows, a cooper bath and huge shower, all with expensive toiletries included.

My daughter wanted to watch iplayer on the television but connection was not very good. Other channels worked perfectly, so couldn't really say that this was an issue

lovely building- but barely dog friendly

room very lovely and location excellent. comfortable bed

although billed as "dog friendly" dogs are in practice limited to bedroom and so you can't have a cooked breakfast, evening meal or any of the other facilities unless you leave dog unattended. There's a very hefty £30 dog charge which given you can't use all the faciltiies isn't great. In practice as we'd been billed for a breakfast we couldn't take that was offset against the dog tax. There were exposed carpet tacks where the carpet was frayed.

The room, restaurant/breakfast meals and cleanliness.

The Cookie Jar gave me the impression of being managed from afar. Too many phone calls are not answered due to other duties of the person on front of house staff. I had three incidents in four days where better training would be expected in an hotel in this price range. Perhaps a good bed and breakfast establishment is a better description

Everything about this hotel was outstanding! Our room was beautiful, spacious, elegant, and luxurious. The staff, especially Celie, were astonishing! We were in Alnwick for our wedding, and wow, this hotel accommodated us and some!!! We brought our small wedding party back to the hotel for drinks and Celie and her team could not have been more welcoming! Thank you to everyone at The Cookie Jar for making our wedding so very special 💖. X

Our room, Harehope, was on the top floor and it was very hot and there was no air con although we had two fans supplied going 24/7 . We had a small issue with the bathroom radiator but that was dealt with for us
