Ideally situated for our golf trip, central to where we played

Bedrooms were comfortable and en suites were spacious and well appointed

Dining table a bit small for four people. As space is limited downstairs, maybe a drop-leaf or extending table would have been good. No vehicular access, so long way to carry luggage from the car park

There was a over zealous list on how to leave the flat but we did find it exceptionally clean

Not much really. Perhaps the sofa needs turning round to face the tv as we weren’t ever going to use the wood burning stove.

Perfect property for a great holiday

The property was in a very good location, it was very clean and tidy. The double bathroom suited me and my family perfectly. Decent sized living area for me my wife and 2 girls. Very happy with all facilities. We would definitely stay here again.

As we are not from the Scotland area we were confused with the outside bins and how they worked when emptying the bins in the house, more information on this would be very helpful, so we are sorry if they are not correct. Apart from that we have no issues with this property.

A bit of a surprise, right in the town, although tucked around a secret corner.

The location was a little bit hidden up a rough-surfaced alley and round a corner. Not accessible for cars. There is a very old street sign very high up on the edge of the building on the main street but not visible at all at night. Think the directions could have been clearer, as we walked up and down the street a bit in the rain. Having said that, the accommodation was delightful. Very cosy and comfortable, beautifully, and sympathetically furnished and decorated. Better than the pictures. Although we were using it as a base for visiting a relative a few miles away, I can see this would be a perfect base for walking the Cateran Trail.

Think the living area would be a bit cramped for more than 2, and difficult for all to watch telly. Perfect for 2.

Cosy cottage, beautifully presented, and perfect for our mini break, it is also close to a local co-op so ideal for provisions. We found Peel farm a short drive away, perfect for breakfast and home made scones and jam.

Nice house, would happily return. Area has a lot to offer anyone interested in walking or wildlife.

Location off main drag but had been given clear directions to find it, Once inside, very snug and cosy. Very clean and nicely furnished and well equipped.

Only inconvenience is having to ferry luggage from street up the lane, though not far, Ground quite rough and could present issues for anyone unsteady on feet, although owner does offer assistance if required. Also, having seen previous footage of flooding in the village, and because there had been heavy rain the previous week, moved the car away from nearest street which is next to the river. Sandbags were out around the area!

good place to stay in an interesting village

Caliburn is a comfortable cottage in a very pleasant village. The house is approached along a narrow service road, which is shared with similar properties- it’s too narrow to take your car down, but the location is therefore quiet and peaceful. Parking is on adjoining streets or in the village square. It is free and plenty is available. The downstairs consists of a combined kitchen/living/dining area. The kitchen is well-arranged, has a large fridge and is good to use, with plenty of utensils. The living area is comfortable but the dining table is a little small. Upstairs there is a double and a twin bedroom, both of which have large, modern en-suite shower rooms with wc and basin. This was a pleasant surprise as we had not realised these were en-suite. Alyth is a very pleasant village with a stream running through the centre. There are several shops, an excellent butcher, some take-aways and a pub. It seemed to us to be one of the best villages in the area to stay in, from the tourist point of view. There is also a small museum.

Having to carry luggage from the car park is a little undesirable but this is made clear in the description. The dining area is a little small if there are four of you staying. These very minor points have to be set against the very reasonable price- so Caliburn is recommended!

Excellent accommodation and location with all required for our week’s stay.

The location in the centre of Alyth was excellent and close to all amenities. As it is set back from the road it was also quiet and peaceful. The cottage had all we needed for a stay of a week or more. The shower facilities were excellent.

An enjoyable week even if the weather was very mixed.

Location was quiet and central. Shops (for essentials) very close by as was a hotel/bar. There was a choice of cafes/restaurants within 10 minutes drive. If you enjoy fish try Little's in Blairgowrie (10 minutes by car). Excellent food - a wee bit pricey - but well worth it and probably best to book.

Seating was uncomfortable in the lounge and unfortunately we couldn't get the car very close to the cottage to unload and load our luggage. This was made worse as it was raining heavily when we were due to leave.

The cottage was beautifully done, very tasteful and very comfortable. Each bedroom had an ensuite. Pretty little garden in a quiet square. Well equipped and a helpful host.

No allocated parking but always managed to find a space on the road.

Alyth proved a good base in a clean, cared for cottage in quiet location, just off town square.

Very quiet location. cottage style home with Kitchen / Sitting room downstairs, small but comfortable. Two large bedrooms with modern en-suite bathrooms to both rooms. Very neat cottage garden with garden furniture. Hot water very Hot, which was good.

Would liked to have wiper-blade tool to clean shower screen.
