The best place to stay in Kirkwall

What an amazing little find. Sheena was amazing throughout our stay, from arriving late then ferry issues. She was always on hand if we needed anything. Amazing value for such a lovely apartment. We had the best time here. Very comfy beds and absolutely incredible shower. Very central and fully stocked kitchen, we really appreciated the milk in the fridge when we arrived. We will stay here again. Thank you Sheena ☺️

Really enjoyed staying here four nights while exploring the island. Very clean, modern, well-stocked, and comfortable. It's a second-floor apartment with lots of windows to keep the place bright and airy. The owners include lots of thoughtful additions -- such as books, games, and local goodies - and the kitchen has just about everything that's needed, including a washer/dryer. Short walks to the Orkney Museum, St. Magnus Cathedral, port, travel center, and main shopping street downtown. Easy to communicate with the owner, who was very responsive and welcoming. Hard to imagine a better spot to stay. Highly recommended.

For those with mobility issues, you should know this is a second-floor apartment with stairs.

A LOVELY CLEAN FLAT, PLENTY OF SPACE AND AMENETIES AND CLOSE TO TOWN CENTRE.

FLAT WAS SPOTLESS, A LOVELY WEE BOX OF LOCAL GOODIES LEFT AS A WELCOME PACK. FOLDER WITH INFO ON LOCAL PUBS, SHOPS AND SIGHTS ETC.

ONLY THING MISSING WAS AN OUDOOR AREA TO EAT, HOWEVER FOR THE PRICE AND WHAT YOU GOT FOR THE MONEY THIS WAS NOT AN ISSUE.

the host went above and beyond with welcome, the instructions to access keys, host is kind and generous , the communication before and after travel to Kirkwall was proactive, clear and friendly really felt the Orcadian welcome !!!!, the flat had everything we needed, had a welcome pack of goodies some extras, the kitchen was well equipped , the flat is spacious and clean had it's own parking space in front of property and good location as a base to go sight seeing etc. I would definitely recommend, excellent value for money.

The apartment is centrally located with a 5 minute walk to the centre of Kirkwall. The apartment is very comfortable and tastefully furnished. I will definitely stay here again.

Perfect accommodation in beautiful Orkney! Really central and easy walking distance to the town, tesco etc nearby! Property very comfortable and immaculately clean with everything you need! I can't fault it at all. Just perfect!

Superb location and lovely apartment

Lovely apartment with everything I needed. Would def stay again. The apartment decor was lovely and nice and warm. The host was very helpful and easy to contact. Very close to the centre of Kirkwall and a pub and takeaway just down the road. 3 supermarkets very close so easy to get supplies.

The only downside was the stairs but that was only because my 92 year old mother was with me, She managed them OK but could be difficult for others with a disability

Excellent place to stay - much better than a hotel.

Fantastically well equipped apartment with high spec kitchen and bathroom facilities. Very useful driveway for parking too. Very convenient location in town centre,

One small thing - needs somewhere to hang wet towels (and coats). And it’s very hard to find as the door is on Pickaquoy street and not on the street address (which is junction road) - this info should be given when you book. I only managed to find the place by reading other reviews. Once you find the door, the location is excellent.

Exceptional

It was absolutely lovely. The owner had music playing for our entry and had left a basket of local goodies for us to try. She also offered to meet us at the door if we wanted. During our stay one of the ferry companies stopped running and she messaged to see if we were on that ferry in case we needed to stay later. I have since had contact as we left items and they are sending them forward.

a great location for those without a car.

the location is good for access to the City, ferries and public transport. the rooms are good and having a lounge for planning the visit was great the kitchen has all you need including a microwave and washing machine. the small lobby downstairs was great to keep the bikes we hired safely overnight.

Warm, welcoming and comfortable. Very clean, we loved staying here for a few days. Great central location and free parking right outside. Nice welcome pack which we appreciated - the only thing 'missing' was fresh milk which we suspected had been accidentally forgotten as everything else was so thoughtful. Friendly and responsive to messages.

The two single rooms don't have windows so no fresh ventilation - the roof lights are non-opening and covered with a blind.
