Fantastic B&B in picturesque village in Tuscany!

We absolutely enjoyed our stay at B&B! It's located in a picturesque village in Tuscany. Breakfast was extensive with lady serving fresh scrambled eggs, coffee and pancakes. Everyone was super friendly! Room was very clean and spacious. I recommend it!

Parking in nearby area is limited.

Charming B&B in the most picture perfect tiny town of San Donata. Palazzo Malaspina is beautiful and our room had a delightful view of the garden. Matteo, the young man who manages the B&B was friendly, welcoming and recommended local restaurants for us. We also enjoyed wine tasting of his own wine. Breakfast was excellent and we were so comfortable. We would highly recommend.

A lovely romantic palazzo to spend a beautiful week.

We enjoyed the entire experience. From the beautiful daily breakfast buffet to the delightful garden with its splendid view, everything was wonderful. The recommended restaurant next door, La Toppa is wonderful as well.

A totally relaxing stay in in gorgeous surroundings, hosted by wonderful people.

Everything was lovely - the rooms are very comfortable, and the balconies looking out on the surrounding countryside are amazing. We had an absolutely fantastic week staying at Palazzo Malaspina, and the town of San Donato is incredibly charming.

Encourages you to come back

A highly recommended place in the heart of Chianti. An ideal base for exploring the surrounding area.. Friendly and helpful staff, delicious breakfasts with the option of ordering an Americano and espresso in the morning :). A comfortable room with everything you need. Excellent location in the town center. The street in front of the guesthouse, which transforms from empty in the morning to bustling with people in the evening, makes an incredible impression. This is due to the opening of the restaurant next door, a restaurant that serves fantastic dishes.

Despite good directions and a map, we had trouble finding it. The only reason was that the sign in front of the entrance was covered with potted plants. A minor drawback is the garden. You have to cross a small alley to get there so not so convenient, and it's not very well-maintained – I'm assuming it's not used often by visitors. Another small problem is the balcony, which is shared with the second room

We were made very welcome and had a wonderful stay.

The location is beautiful. A very pretty Italian village with friendly villagers. Breakfast was very fresh and tasty and everyone catered for. The building is absolutely beautiful with lots of history (we even had a history tour, thankyou). Our room was kept clean and comfortable, with a beautiful view from the small balcony. Thankyou for a wonderful stay.

Lovely to be right in the middle of a small community. Very relaxing

We were last here in 2017 so it was nice to come back and without planning we had exactly the same room. Matteo was excellent in communicating pre-visit and it was everything we remember - very well located, good breakfasts and a couple of restaurants and bars nearby. Quiet but not too quiet. You have to have a car but that's fine, we like to travel out into the surrounding area

We had a small balcony and would have preferred a bigger garden or pool area but we knew it wasn't an option when we booked. As long as you're not looking for those things this is very very good

Already planning our next visit!

The staff were fantastic (warm, kind and professional), the accommodation gave a truly authentic whilst utterly charming Italian experience, the breakfast was superb; a new homemade cake each day, the quality of the products top notch, the eggs! And Mary makes wonderful cappuccinos. Mary, Matteo and Maria all provided excellent tips for our stay and Matteo was able to organise dinner for us at La Toppa on very short notice - equally outstanding experience and literally next door! There were small touches that pushed the hospitality over the top, like quality mini easter eggs readily accessible in beautiful glass jars and freshly made chocolate biscuits at hand next to the tea and coffee in the shared area.

Nothing to fault. Except I would happily have desired more of those coffee's at any time of day! This stay is special, within close proximity to multiple stops and the staff will happily help you with it all.

We would love to stay here again!

I like that this BnB is in a building that is about 600 years old, and the owner was born here, and has lived her entire life here (she is a very sweet lady). The rooms are nicely decorated with a very comfortable bed and a large bathroom that has a large bathtub, a large sink, but the shower was a bit small for my liking. Thanks to Mary for preparing a wonderful breakfast each morning of our stay!

Shower size, and parking was a good walk away, keep in mind that you are in a very old hill town in Tuscany.

The whole palazzo is beautifully preserved and decorated. Room was very spacious, clean, quiet and comfortable. The hosts offered a warm welcome and were very friendly, suggesting some nice places to visit. San Donato is a picturesque village with gorgeous views of the sunset and Tuscan hills.

Back in Germany we realized again how special our trip to Tuscany has been. This is mainly due to our stay in wonderful Malaspina B&B. The B&B is family owned and run with gorgeous rooms, excellent food (i.e. self baked cake every day) and now wonder- perfect Coffee. Located in the unique village San Donnato you will have the perfect tuscan experience. In 30 minute driving distance you will reach Florence, Sienna, St Gimignano as well as beautiful tuscan villages as Castello Volpaia. Grazie mille, Maria!

A Tuscan retreat with attentive hosts. A great base for Florence a, Chianti Classico and Siena.

The breakfast was a collection of local delicacies, including home made jam and freshly cooked scrambled egg. The coffee was the best we’ve had in Italy and sunsets from our balcony were heavenly!

Un’esperienza di grande fascino

Davvero tutto bellissimo. In particolare ho amato il piccolo e incantevole giardino privato e il balcone con una vista spettacolare sulle colline e sull’antico borgo. Parcheggio comodo e vicino. Lo stile il comfort e la qualità dell’arredamento impeccabili. Un’esperienza piacevolissima che spero un giorno di ripetere.
