We arrived by car and appreciated the convenience of using the little trolley to comfortably transport all our family members to the room. The car park was spacious and safe, adding to our peace of mind. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful at all times, making our stay even more enjoyable. The family room on the first floor was spacious and comfortable, with hilarious views of the countryside from the window. The room’s style, though not modern, was historically preserved and fascinating to look at. The breakfast was sufficiently equipped, and it was wonderful that dogs were welcomed, making it a perfect choice for a family with kids and pets. Overall, it was a stylish and family-friendly hotel experience.

Not much to add! Charging an electric vehicle can be tricky, especially in Tuscany where driving around a lot is common.

A beautiful hotel nestled in the cute place of Chianti

Truly appreciated the extent of the staff making sure our stay was comfortable. The first night we were put what seemed like the attic of the hotel. LOL, which it wasn't - it was cozy but stuffy, with one window that had no screen (most don't have screens here in Tuscany actually)- the staff was kind enough to put us up on our second night in a beautiful room facing the gorgeous view of Tuscany country side. The breakfast was lovely and the beds comfy.

The A/C not being on due to the season, this would of helped us during our first night (this is a huge discomfort of women who are in the lovely season of Hot flashes LOL). Other than this- stay was excellent.

This place was an amazing find! I was so happy to have found it (thanks Booking.com). I have never heard of Castellina in Chianti -- and I think that is part of the charm...not a lot of tourists. It is located in the Chianti region, and it is a beautiful drive to get to this magical place. I have the sense that Castellina in Chianti is a history-filled hideaway village that Italians in the know will go to for a weekend getaway. The village is very small and walkable and the storefronts and restaurants are filled with lovely people. The hotel is owned by a local Italian family and the young woman at the front desk was beyond helpful and sweet -- she let me choose the "town view" room or, for a little extra, the "country-side" room by showing me both options first -- I chose the countryside! The room was amazingly spacious and had a marble bathroom, air conditioning, and an incredible view. The hotel also has a little secret spa that I had all to myself. The breakfast was excellent and I appreciated that there was an elevator so I didn't have to lug my suitcase up the stairs. There is a large pool that I didn't take the time to go visit, but it looks wonderful. I also appreciated that there is private parking nearby, behind a gate, that I parked my car. Truly, I felt like I was really spoiling myself by staying at this place -- though the price of the room was reasonable. I was traveling alone but felt safe at the hotel and wandering the village. This is a great place and I'd like to revisit it some time with family. I highly recommend!

Old castle hotel in Chianti region with spectacular views!!!

Location, friendly helpful staff in small quaint town. The swimming pool was perfect for a dip after long day of touring. Loved all the rose bushes and jasmine flowers. Had my best Campari Spritz there on balcony after a week of travel thru Italy! Parking was bonus. Great breakfast with a spectaculiar view.

Loved our stay here! Absolutely beautiful properly set on the edge of Castellina. You have the buzz of the small town but also the tranquility of the Tuscan countryside. The perfect blend for a relaxing but entertaining trip with unmatched food and wine.

A coffee machine in the room would be great! Also a little more variety with breakfast, especially some more savoury options would make it perfect.

Beautiful setting and location. Views and outside facilities just like the photos. Very helpful staff and nice breakfast. Accessible by 125 bus (except on Sundays!) if travelling by public transport.

Beds could have been more comfortable but will be fine if you like a firm mattress!

Decent hotel with improvement potential in a lovely location

Friendly staff (although not always responsive via Booking messaging before the stay). Nice location, large parking space for hotel guests, decent room, good restaurant.

I liked the look of the pool when booking, but that was closed and covered up. I know it’s early season, but still. Perhaps more clear information about this when booking? The room was reasonably comfy, but we could clearly hear the conversation of people downstairs in the evening (or rather, the long monologue from one of them) which made it difficult to get to sleep early before our early start the following day. The breakfast buffet was OK, but most hotels I visit do it better. I would have liked even more local produce and also revising the scrambled eggs recipe! Finally, while it’s great that there is a large dedicated and gated parking lot for the hotel, I don’t understand why we could not simply get the code to the gate upon booking. Instead we got a long message explaining where to go and what to do if we arrived at different times during the day. We hence ended up paying for parking in order to first check in and get the code.

What a wonderfully peaceful, beautiful place. We had the best time here. Everything starting from the staff was amazing. The hotel is not very big with the perfect amount of other travellers. It didn't feel crowded.

I wish an air conditioning was a bit better but I'm not sure if that's possible for the building that old.
