Cosy and comfortable lodge. Very spacious. Outside area looked great but too cold for us at the time of our visit.
Very handy for the bus routes into the centre of the city.
Very helpful host met us on arrive and gave us lots of advice about where to go.
On site parking right outside the door.
We were asked to turn off the heating when not in the lodge. This led to us returning to a cold building which took time to heat up.

It was great having a separate place to stay even though it was someone's home. We had separate bedrooms, which gave us a bit of space. The lounge & dining were comfortable. It was close to the centre of town. The hosts were friendly & offered suggestions of where to visit & eat. We had to best food for our whole trip to the UK at Dine. There were tea/coffee & hairdryer provided. Heating worked well.
The kitchen was a little small. We missed not having an oven to warm up a supermarket bought dinner. There were lots of signs about only hanging wet towels in the bathroom but not enough space to hang towels in the bathroom. The single beds were very narrow for adults.

Very nice property, welcoming friendly host, easy transport links into city centre.
The mattresses on the beds were not to our liking and spoilt the trip as everything else was good.

Four regular bus routes into the city. Everything you could ever need - washing up liquid and cleaning stuff, coffee maker, plenty of hooks and mirrors and drawers and closets with loads of proper hangers - even plug adaptors! Lovely garden/deck. Welcome pack - milk, bread, biscuits and prosecco!
No full oven or hob but there's a portable hot plate (top of the range), an air fryer and microwave. I cooked meals for three of us no problem.

Location, friendliness and helpfulness of owners. The Lodge was very well maintained, homely and Lorna and Tam provided food treats which was a lovely surprise.
Absolutely nothing.

The location of the property is excellent - A short drive from the A720, you're pretty close to the centre with easy access to the local bus service into the centre of Edinburgh, but far enough out that it's nice and quiet to have a relaxing evening on the outside deck (overlooking the host's lovely and well kept garden) if you wish. Access to attractions is very easy/convenient - the #4 bus takes you down into the centre and stops directly over the road from the lodge, providing access to the museums and the castle after a short walk. The zoo is a 10-15 minute drive away.
Plenty of space for a family of 3/4 to stay for a few nights. Off-road parking for one vehicle is provided by hosts if required. Easy access to supermarkets for any supplies you might need for your stay (Asda, Morrisons, Tesco and Sainsburys are all within a few minutes drive of the property). The lodge is equipped with everything you'd need for a short family break, and Lorna even keeps a few board games and puzzles in a cupboard for the kids to enjoy (Snakes + Ladders was a particular favourite of our son's over the stay!)
Nothing to fault from our stay.

Great place with easy access to the city center (by bus), quiet and very well tended by a very friendly couple.
Great to visit the city or just stay and relax at home.
The rooms could have blackout curtains and the shower could be a little better.

Beautiful place, lovely, friendly and very attentive host, lovely ham0er and bottle of prosseco 9n arrival for us and even though it was bit further put of Edinburgh Central there was a bus literally drops off outside the lodge. Such a lovely stay
Nothing we loved it

The property and location were perfect for us but, far and away the outstanding feature of our stay was Lorna, the host’s honesty in refunding us a significant amount of money when she realised that we had been overcharged, completely in error. We wish Lorna and her partner all the very best for the future and wouldn’t hesitate to stay again when we return to Edinburgh.
Nothing at all comes to mind.

The most lovely charming space with the kindest of hosts. I cannot say enough good about this place. We loved it! The bus stop right outside the door was amazing and Tam and Lorna were so helpful with navigating the city. Very thoughtful details.

Met Tam on arrival, very helpful and gave us information about transport into town. Lodge was lovely, everything we needed. Very quiet area and very private.
Nothing really. Only thing that could be better is sofa, but that is just a very small thing. Maybe a bit of information on the information sheet where the local shop is.

Quiet, secure location, excellent access to bus stops, outside space, parking, decor, hosts. Welcome basket is a lovely touch and greatly appreciated. Lorna communicates very effectively and clearly wants guests to enjoy their stay. Tam is also very welcoming and accommodating. Info about buses is really good.
Some unfortunate bedroom electrical issues, literally happened the day we arrived, nothing to be done and in fairness there are plenty of sockets elsewhere.

The location and how clean it was and welcoming and the little things like bread and milk

The location is perfect with bus stops right outside. The property has all amenities, very cozy and perfect for family stay. he hosts are extremely good. They even waited for me as I reached late around 10:30 pm. Will recommend highly.
Having a washing machine could be the only item needed. Other than this, nothing else.

We had a lovely time staying at Craiglockhart Lodge. Lorna was very welcoming and the welcome pack of bread, milk, Prosecco and other goodies was very thoughtful. The lodge was very clean and comfortable, an ideal place to stay. It is situated in a lovely part of Edinburgh. It’s easy to explore the centre as there are a variety of bus options near by including one stop right outside. There are also other places to explore near by if you like walking such as the Pentland hills or walking along the tow path of The Union canal. There is parking which is always a bonus.
We would definitely stay again and hope to soon.

Lovely welcome. All you could need for a short break. Nothing too much trouble and recommended a lovely pub on the night of arrival. Good location, quiet but only a bus journey from the centre of Edinburgh with the bus stop right outside. Would recommend and will be back

Fantastic hospitality in a very comfortable lodge. Photos don't really do it justice. Ideally placed for access into town on the many buses within easy access to the property.
Hosts that go above and beyond to make your stay comfortable and enjoyable.

- Beautiful and authentic Scottish apartment
- Cleanliness, towels, toiletries and name bare minimum thing you need, its there
- Bus stop just outside the door (Bus Number - 4 and 36)
- Free guest Netflix
- Google home mini though we didn't use it
- There is none if I have to say I would say one thing it's a little from the city, though there is a direct bus but it is less frequent later in the night.

The property was very clean spacious and beautiful. There was a welcome basket of goodies and fresh bread and milk including tea and coffee and a bottle of Prosecco. Lorna was very welcoming and explained the buses and the app and also helped us with directions to a club we were going to to meet family. Would 100% stay here again and have passed the details onto family and friends
