Great room, and location, next to transport and 20 min walk to center. The kitchen had all we needed, the room was very clean and comfortable. The reception employees were very friendly.
The room was on the second floor with no elevator, for us it was not a problem, but maybe for someone it is a lot to do.

Fantastic room, and beautiful building!
This establishment is close to all of Edinburgh’s world famous city sights, and you have the very welcome added bonus of your own kitchenette.
My room was full of original features, but at the same time this originality did not come at the expense of anything not being in very good condition. All of the fixtures & fittings were of a very high quality, and there was not one thing in my room that was showing any signs of wear and tear.
Their cleaner is excellent, with everything in my room being absolutely spotlessly clean. Bed was super large, and super comfy, and the linen was pristine white cotton, with a satin soft finish. The shower was powerful, and hot every time, and the room was toasty warm throughout my stay, which was very much appreciated after a long day sightseeing in Edinburgh.
Friendly receptionist, and my request to leave my bag at reception on my final day to allow me to be able to extend my sightseeing was met with a genuine warmth, which again was very much appreciated.
This is not a down side, but just to comment that this establishment is very generous when it comes to heating. However, you are fully in control of the thermostat in the bedroom, so I just turned the thermostat down when myself and the room were at the right temperature for me, and I would far rather do that than finding myself being too cold after a long day sightseeing.

The hotel is good enough for a few nights. They have a small kitchen which can be useful to make a tea or get some fresh water.
Unfortunately we were unlucky as the room was renovated and the strong smell was still there.
