A hotel that is deteriorating

Location is perfect besides the fact that it is far from the city center. There is no shuttle bus offered by the hotel to go to the city center, you need a cab which costs around 20€ each way.

Despite the high price, they gave us a room that was adapted for disabled people (good thing it exists) but it was not functional for us, espthe bathroom where we couldn't not perform our personal needs. Besides that we asked some french fries for our child which was 10€ and they added 25€ as a change for room service and this was scandalous for us.

Best stay in Florence

Villa Tolomei was a happy surprise for all of us when we arrived. The apartment was very spacious, clean and comfortable. It really deserves 10. The staff are great especially Dina who took great care of us when we were enjoying the great breakfast they offer. A tiny advice,,to reach the location don't follow the GPS, follow the instructions they send you. We will definitely choose no where else in our next visit to Florence.

No internet connection in the rooms in our apartment. But it is good to disconnect sometimes

Staff were so friendly and attentive. Daniel was so helpful and welcoming. As were the reception staff. So helpful getting recommendations. Food was beautiful and everything was so clean

Nice place for a relaxed time

The room was comfortable. Breakfast was good but not out of the ordinary. The masseuse was a very nice person and accommodated us even though there was hardly any time available. Unfortunately we could only get a foot massage due to lack of time, but next time I am sure it will be better.

Wonderful property on the fringe of Florence.

Wonderful customer service, especially from the lady that checked us in and our porter. (I can’t remember their names) The receptionist was of Asian heritage and she was incredibly professional and genuinely wanted to assist when needed. She is an asset to the resort.

Not being told about a wedding party the night that I made a dinner reservation. It’s important to let other hotel guests know if there is a private function and that the restaurant (with the fabulous views) won’t be available/limited during that time.

The location was magical. Breathtaking views over the valley, peaceful and serene surroundings. The room was spotless and well-maintained.

The bathroom had an issue—water leaked onto the floor due to missing seals between the bathtub and the tiles. It clearly needs fixing. The pool area felt a bit neglected: one of the showers was broken, electrical cables were scattered around the mobile bar, and there was no clear design plan for the flower arrangements. Also, pool towels weren’t laid out for guests, which was surprising given the setting.

A taste of Tuscan Beauty within a 12 minute cab ride of the Florence city center.

This hotel is an absolute gem right outside of Florence. It's had to believe a 12 minute cab ride can take you so far into a different world. It has the genuine feel of a Tuscan Villa, but is still only a manageable (downhill) walk from the sites (and crowds) of Firenze. The hotel is surrounded by olive groves and vineyards, but with views of Florence from the restaurant and pool. There was peace, quiet and beauty, but with convenient proximity. The rooms were immaculately clean. The staff was beyond helpful, especially Daniel, who made sure our rooms were stocked with waters as we needed them. For your notes, our family split between one of the apartments and one of the regular rooms. I can't say enough good things about the apartment. They made up the two bedrooms as one king and one double, with a very comfortable and well-apportioned kitchen and living area. The standard room was huge for a European room, with views and actual air conditioning The staff called cabs for us as we needed to go into town, and the cabs showed up within 5 minutes. One tip: If you're coming from Florence, walk across one of the bridges to the south side of the river before calling or haling a cab. It will save you 10 minutes and 10 Euros. In summary, If you're looking for a place to stay in Florence but want peace, quiet, and a taste of the Tuscan countryside, this is your place. It was certainly ours.

Unfortunately, the pool was closed during our stay, so we weren't able to swim after a hot day in Florence. It should be up and running by mid to late June 2025. The breakfast wasn't the best we had on our trip, but was included and still very fresh and generous.

Do not advise to go there, there are a lot more places around with fantastic attitude and much more less money.

Its hard to say what we like, because our trip was spoiled because of the hotel. They had a pool under reconstruction about what we were not informed. And their was no information on the booking by the time when we booked hotel. More over unpleasant was fact that hotels administration were telling us and putting back responsibility on us that we were supposed to find that information on their website. Our aim of the trip was to lay by pool and enjoy the Italian sun and worm weather.

After recognizing the pool reconstruction and being in hotel just 3 hours. We supposed to check out from hotel and find the new one, although we were tired already from long trip to come there. There was also dirty around the area where was a reconstruction, so it was not possible to enjoy the out side We were not checked out from hotel 3 days, just to keep there money, and not having any shame or responsibility about not giving us the fool service which we paid for. Although we were in hotel just 3 hours, may be less.

Awesome villa: beautiful setting, great location next to Florence but in the quiet countryside. Hotel building is beautiful, stuff is nice, awesome breakfast with all Italian goodies. The nicest stuff. We stayed in a 2 bedroom apartment, huge, with everything in it that one can need. It was in a separate building, was very quiet and calm in the evening. There’s a restaurant in the hotel, we didn’t have an opportunity to go but judging by breakfast should be really nice.

This is definitely NOT a 5* hotel- we were very disappointed.

The vast majority of the staff were wonderful, especially Daniel at the pool.

The food and drink was disappointing in quality and choice, and hugely overpriced. The entire hotel was in need of redecorating and a big dose of TLC. The cleanliness was questionable, especially in the ensuite bathrooms.

the view was spectacular! the pool was awesome. the gym was great. the breakfast was world class! the bed was huge and comfortable!

For such an expensive hotel the wifi was either non existent or terrible. and the tv was small and had fully Broken line down the cente of it. the shower was also fairly broken.

disgusting. do not stay here because of the horrible inhumane lady at the front desk

the lady at the front desk is horrible. rude arrogant extremely disgusting. my mother had got an arm fracture and was in immense pain and this lady was extremely rude and unhelpful. spoke to us in the most condescending way. did not help us out at all. we wanted a cab booked for early next morning to go to the airport - she made us wait for 30 mins while my mother was in immense pain while she helped people who came after us. I would like to report her and never recommend this hotel to anybody only because they hired disgusting staff like her who does not understand somebody’s pain when their hand is fractured and decided to make us wait for additional 40 mins.
