We loved the fact it's a castle. One needs to know that there is no lift. We had the tower room, still, it was worth the climb of what felt like a million stairs as it was a room with air condition. Considering it was 38 outside this came in very handy.. The view from up there was absolutely epic. Restaurant food was VERY good (except the deconstructed Tiramisu. Why doe is it need to be deconstructed (no warning on the menu.)? ) Breakfast was what I consider as basic. Nothing unpleasant, just very basic. I was missing bread rolls in the morning, however those were nowhere to be seen. The rest was absolutely fine (yoghurt, fruit selection, excellent coffee and lovely croissants )

the stairs, still it was worth it considering the aircon in the room :-D

Nice gardens, located away from the hustle & bustle from downtown Merano yet reachable by foot in less than 30 min (Trauttmansdorff gardens 10 min by foot)

Building has no elevator - our “double room with terrace” was on the 4th floor so not great to carry you luggage all the way up. Room was OK but bathroom tiny. Despite having been asked 3 times about our time of arrival, the airco in the room had not been switched on beforehand.
