Absolute gem of a hotel and a great example of how things should be done! Clean, stylish, modern, simple, decent bed linen and towels and lovely, helpful reception team. Great location for easy access to central Beaune. Dog welcomed free of charge. Merci!

Helpful friendly staff in an excellent environment

The central location was great and the hotel was newly decorated and clean. We were delighted that Vanessa the concierge messaged us in advance to make restaurant suggestions and then reserved a table for us. The complimentary vin chaud was a bonus and the breakfast was excellent. The secure parking was great.

The hotel is beautifully designed- simple but has everything you need. Great cosy and comfortable beds, decent shower, excellent spread for breakfast and the team are always welcoming and friendly. This is now our go-to on our way down South.

Exceptional - definitely coming back

Super comfortable, lovely staff and well located - what more could you ask for? We’ve been coming to Beaune for years and this is the best accommodation we have found at this price point. Room 205 is perfect for families, thanks to a mezzanine with two twin beds. The bed & sheets were great quality. And breakfast was good too!

A fabulous hotel in Burgundy

A wonderful hotel in Beaune which had just been refurbed. The rooms & facilities are lovely, beds very comfortable. The breakfast is buffet style with plenty of choice.

Clean, quiet, well designed, relaxed with friendly helpful staff

We loved the general vibe and decor of the hotel - relaxed and well thought out design. The staff were so helpful and friendly, the location great for the bars restaurants and centre of Beaune, but in a quiet area. We could bring a dog too which made it perfect for us. Only stopped for one night on the way to somewhere else, didn’t have breakfast, and really couldn’t fault it- will definitely recommend. Thank you

The Hotel de la Paix is a charming, small hotel in an attractive district around a public square. It is a convenient walk from the railway station, and also within easy walking distance of the city centre.

Under restoration, so housed in what looked like an annex., promised car parking not available . Had to go to nearby restaurant ( some 90 yards away), for breakfast with voucher. Having said that, breakfast was excellent, so thanks La Balene for that.

Filthy, disgusting hotel with floors so dirty they turned black when wiping them

Nothing to like about this place

This was a horrible hotel, the worst we’ve stayed at so far in France. The room was so DISGUSTINGLY unclean. Full of filth below the beds, no one seem to ever clean there. The floors were so dirty so when my wife tried to wipe it with one of the towels, the towel went all black (see picture). We were two adults + two kids and we had to put the bedspreads on the floor to not have our kids sit in the filth. When I complained to the receptionist about the dirty floors he just shrugged his shoulders and said ”we will tell the cleaning maid”. Not a single attempt to give us help during the stay or offering some kind of compensation. They are also fooling you because they shared information via Booking.com that the reception was temporarily moved due to renovations. But it’s not just the reception—it’s the whole hotel ie all the rooms. So we had a room in this temporary building. Will NEVER come back and can’t recommend anyone to stay here.

I’m sure this is a lovely hotel, but due to the renovation works it didn’t quite meet our needs.

Hotel was in a great spot and close to the old town. Friendly staff and good size room and clean.

We received an email to say the hotel was undergoing refurbishment. We had originally booked through booking.com. Our original booking was non refundable and we were given no option to cancel. We had booked breakfast with our stay, but due to building works breakfast was organised to be in the next door restaurant, which didn’t open until 9am. We had to leave by 8am, so didn’t benefit from the breakfast we had paid for. Parking was also slightly problematic.

Excellent location, functional, comfortable rooms for a short stay and good value for money- clean

The receptionist was very accommodating, extremely friendly and changed to room at my request as i was disappointed not to have a a similar room to one I had stayed in previously.

I was originally put in a room upstairs which was not as nice as other rooms I have stayed there before.

Mixed experience.

Room was fine. Location is excellent.

WiFi - little connectivity and signal so weak not even mail would download. Booked a double room. Twin room was given. Had to ask for another set of towels. The hotel was very busy. Breakfast was a bit of a challenge. Two staff members did their best to manage the numbers. But refilling coffee, fruit, juice and viennoiserie was difficult. Tables were full not helped by a person reserving a table for eight. These people did not use the table for a further half an hour. So table remained unused while others waited.

Staff made sure we had an accessible room on same floor as parking entrance. Easy access to room. Plenty of space in room and bathroom quite large. Everything good. Good aircon. Breakfast was excellent and plentiful. Hotel is an easy walk to town centre and lots of fun to explore old streets. Plenty of restaurants nearby. Nice atmosphere in town. Made a good overnight stop.

First view of hotel is a bit heart-sinking. Not good kerb appeal but this belies a nice hotel.
