Perfect stop en route to the Alps

Returning to Chateau de Challanges is always a pleasure. Welcoming, comfortable, warm and cosy. This time our son was over the moon to find the chateau’s giant Teddy waiting on his bed when we arrived. We arrived very late, but there was, as always, a nice bottle of Burgundy chilling in the room.

It’s a shame the chateau doesn’t serve dinner, however being so close to Beaune town makes up for it.

A beautifully presented chateau with great staff. The hotel is out of town with plenty of parking at the hotel, ideal if your car is full overnight.

It’s quite far from town, which is an advantage when it comes to security but a little far to walk into Beaune. A taxi cost about €12.

The rooms are incredibly small, and the first room we were shown had the shower beside the bed, in the same room. It was not a great start.

Ambience and breakfast were wonderful. Bar lobby was a bit small. Rooms could do with some updating and better quality mattresses.

Will definitely stay again!

Booked one of the Rotundas in the garden. Big room and bathroom with doors out to private garden. Very well equipped. Allows dogs. Staff very friendly and helpful. Short drive and easy to find from the motorway. Easy, secure parking. Great!

The grounds of the hotel were so beautiful. The room was spacious and well decorated.

Great Château surrounded by a green oasis with all necessary infrastructure

The Château is surrounded by a green oasis which is super nice. The pool is great and you have enough sunbeds for everyone. The rooms are spacious and comfortable and the staff is super friendly and they will do everything to accommodate you the best they can. You have enough variation with the breakfast and you have a big parking lot next to the Château. There is a possibility to have lunch or dinner with mixed platter of cheeses and cold cuts which is a very generous portion. We would definitely recommend and will go back if we come back to Beaune!

For lunch time there are a lot of bees which is a bit enjoying but of course you can’t do much about it.

Perfect stop along Autoroute de Soleil but certainly also excellent for more days to visit Bourgogne

The breakfast buffet was rich, and the breakfast could be taken in the garden, weather permitting. Our standard room was comfortable, no small refrigerator though. The pool was lovely.

Please note that there is no elevator, and that you need transport to go to Beaune for dinner, as the location is at the other side of the A6 highway and that the hotel does not offer diner.

Our pool pavilion room was very small. There was only one cupboard with enough space to hang shirts only. There were no drawers.

A brilliant stopover on our way home from the south! We will definitely stay again.

It’s a beautiful, grand chateau and the garden is lovely. The breakfast was really good and so is the breakfast room. Breakfast can also be taken in the garden.

A peaceful and relaxed stay.

Excellent breakfast with different choices every day. Exceptionally friendly and helpful staff - especially Vanessa. Effective and quiet air conditioning. Lovely, well maintained pool area with sun loungers. Great location 10 minutes from centre of Beaune. Good choice of TV channels, including BBC News. Good hairdryer. User-friendly safe with light so avoid risk of leaving something behind.

No water in room. No fridge in room. Nowhere to hang towels in bathroom. Not enough sun loungers by pool on Sunday afternoon when most guests were at the hotel. No lift so best not to book a Chambre Standard if you are over a certain age as they are on the second floor.

Great chateau experience!

Beautiful property and rooms are authentic to French style! Amazing breakfast with many selections of breads, cheeses, meats, eggs, fruits, yogurt, and hot selections. Staff are very accommodating and helpful with finding tours. They have good bikes available for rent.

Fairytale Stay

Amazing location, with the tentative staff, ready to give recommendations on the best activities, wineries and restaurants. They even left biscuits for our dog and the cleaning lady always ordered his toys on our bed. Thank you. ❤️

Attractive accommodation on outskirts of Beaune, with delightful and helpful staff. No restaurant, but a more than impressive sharing board with a bottle of local wine in the bar made a great alternative.

Beautiful chateau outside Beaune center. We enjoyed a lovely snack of soup and charcuterie when we arrived. The room was comfortable, and the breakfast was excellent with many options. Very good value and would love to stay again.

Relaxing at the Cháteau and cruising through the Grands Crus

small château in a big garden, with some tall, very old trees. Despite the fact that it is close to the high way, it is very quiet, perfect to enjoy a glass of wine in the garden, a good night sleep, and a good starting point for some bike cruising through the glowing vineyards of Grands Crus, north and south from Beaune
