We had a truly memorable stay at the Old Post House in Kyle of Lochalsh. The property blends historic charm with modern comfort, offering a beautifully renovated space that feels both welcoming and refined. From the moment we arrived, we were impressed by the tasteful décor, spacious layout, and thoughtful amenities that made our visit feel like a home away from home.
The kitchen was well-equipped for casual dining (the washer and dryer were a big plus!), and the living spaces were cozy and inviting. Everything was immaculately clean and well maintained. We appreciated the quiet, friendly neighborhood and the ease of parking nearby. The location is ideal with shops within walking distance and just short drive to the Skye Bridge making it a perfect base for exploring the Highlands and the Isle of Skye.
One moment that truly stood out was Euan’s (our host) kindness in helping us retrieve a valuable family memento we had accidentally left behind. His prompt and gracious assistance turned what could have been a stressful situation into a reminder of how thoughtful and attentive hospitality can make all the difference.
Overall, the Old Post House exceeded our expectations. It’s a wonderful blend of character, comfort, and genuine care, and we would gladly return for another stay.
Nothing to speak of. Guest should note there are stairs to the second level apartment. Restaurants are limited in town but more a short drive (2km) in either direction if looking for more choices.

We loved everything! Honestly, I don't know why every review isn't 10! Bedrooms were comfortable, kitchen had everything we needed, communication with the host was great. There were lots of small details that were above and beyond which made us feel like this was more than a business for Euan and Emma but that they actually cared and want their guests to enjoy their stay. I think our kids were ready to move in! I loved the little notes on things giving more information on how to use etc. There was parking out front most of the time but we did not mind using the parking lot down the street. It was also very convenient. The living room furniture was also a hit with the kids. Everything was so comfortable and it really felt like we had arrived HOME every night. I could go on an on. We loved it!
Bathroom door was a bit hard for the kids to lock but that was not a big deal for us.
