Lucky find

Excellent four night stay on Skye. The cottage is super clean, very well maintained, and attractively decorated. Large, comfortable living-room, with views of the water. We saw rainbows every morning from the big windows. Well appointed kitchen. Freezer (we like ice). Two full modern bathrooms, both with showers. Excellent Wi-Fi reception. Slept wonderfully—even when stormy weather battered the house. I was concerned when I saw on the map that it is near the airport, but never heard a plane. Close to the main road, but, again, not ever a disturbance. Host was never seen, but immediately responsive to any query. Two miles to local Co-op market and restaurants. The location is on the south end of the island, about 35 minutes drive from Portree, which we found a great jumping off point for exploring.

Really, nothing to dislike. Toilet brushes would be a nice addition to bathrooms.

A traditional highland cottage on the outside and modern facilities inside. Highly recommended.

The downstairs bathroom appears to be damp all the time and it would be a good idea to have rubber mats for the shower for safety Also the radiator didn’t work in the downstairs bedroom the septic tank was beeping for the last three days

Highly recommend - very nice stay

Very nice home - beautiful inside. Conveniently located for day trips to popular Skye locations - we were able to visit every section of Skye in our rental car in a relatively short period of time (usually an hour-ish or shorter). The village of Broadford is just down the road (a mile) and has everything you need - a grocery store, gas station, restaurants, etc. The view from the living room is incredible - you can see islands and ocean water even though you are a good distance from the shore. The short drive to the beach of Ashaig is an absolute must - we spent well over an hour and half walking the beach. Many of locals take their dogs to the beach. Although we didn't meet Lynsey, the owner of the property, the communication and coordination emails were timely, professional, and pleasant. Highly recommend.

Fantastic family break in Breakish

The cottage is in a brilliant location, especially for our young family (two small children) that loved the beach being so close by. The cottage is very well presented, excellent bathrooms and showers, and comfy beds. The TV is modern and the kitchen is well equipped. Central heating works well. The cottage is less than 5 minutes drive from the co-op supermarket and adjacent petrol station, as well as good restaurants nearby. Good spot for visiting most of the island (we went pretty much everywhere in a week), whilst still being near shops, which suited our needs. We visited the Isle of Raasay via ferry, which was a short drive from the cottage. We would be very happy to stay at the cottage again, and would highly recommend it.

Nothing really! Perhaps the downstairs bedroom could benefit from some more storage space, but this is minor. We would also add a non slip mat to be used in the shower, which would have been useful for the children.

The cottage is super nice. It is very stylish, new and cosy. It is just a little walk down to the sea, and you have an awesome view on the sea from the living room. Kitchen is well equipped with all basics you need. There is a little coffee place some minutes down the road and it is a good location to visit places all over Skye.

Some hints and little suggestions for improvements: We had some troubles finding the location. Do not follow the location Google maps gives when searching for the address. Look for the name of the cottage in Google maps and you will easily find it. Maybe a shelf or anything were you could put your clothes/ beauty case in the upper bathroom would be helpful. Besides that everything was perfect. (Maybe a instruction how to lock the front door, as we are not used to such locks it took us some minutes to figure out... 🙂 But I guess this was a particular problem from us)

wonderful

beautiful inside out, sparkling clean, fully equipped like home away from home including washing up liquids, very comfortable mattresses and bedding like any 5 star hotel, rainforest showers, sky tv and private drive. location is quiet but close enough to a large COOP supermarket only 5 mins drive away. highly recommended. I would certainly book again if ever I will return to isle of Skye for family holiday.
