Marvel Apartments Leamington Spa

We liked the location with it being so near the town centre and the park. The apartment was very clean and modern with up to date kitchen and bathroom. Access to the apartment was very straight forward and the parking information was much appreciated. The corner shop below was very convenient!

We were disappointed that there was no microwave in the kitchen. There were no bedside lamps so getting up in the night to use the bathroom was difficult with the bathroom not being near the bedroom - a movement sensor light in the hallway would really help. A table lamp or standard lamp in the lounge area would a nice addition so all the ceiling spotlights don't have to be on in the evening.

The place stank Of smoke! Being a non smoking family… I went and got a disinfectant spray from M and S to take the stale smell away. I’m sorry for saying this but it stank! ( even though there were notices to say not smoking)!

I have no complaints about the apartment.

After the reservation was confirmed, I received a message stating I needed to text them 30 minutes prior to arrival so they could meet me to hand over the keys—something not mentioned in the listing, which actually advertises private check-in and check-out. I was told the lockboxes were broken (I had assumed they were automatic ones). No problem; when I arrived that evening, I met a young man—who struck me as quite unfriendly—who took me to the apartment. Upon arrival, I saw that the lockboxes were manual—meaning repairs should be quick—and he questioned me about the number of people in the reservation. I answered, but as soon as I entered the apartment, the person messaging me on WhatsApp asked the exact same thing—how many people were in the reservation—even though that information was clearly specified at the time of booking. The next morning, I decided to leave; I didn't want to stay any longer. I messaged to ask if I could leave the key in the door or if the guy would come in person, but he claimed the lockbox had been repaired that morning and sent me the codes for the building entrance and the lockbox. I know for a fact that this was a LIE. They should be more professional; if they want to know who the guests are, they should change the check-in process so everyone knows they will be meeting a person face-to-face. They shouldn't be dishonest or unprofessional. Basically, I paid for three nights but only stayed for one. They seem suspicious of people, which makes no sense considering there are two sensor cameras watching you. I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS APARTMENT TO ANYONE SEEKING PRIVACY; the person who greets you is extremely unpleasant. And I don't need a reply from you; everything I’ve said here is true, and you know that the excuse given was nothing but a LIE.
