Great location, lovely views, comfortable lodge.
The cleaning was not good. We turned on the oven to cook and it started to smoke quite a bit - I realised there was a large area of food fat or similar on the bottom of the oven (which I cleaned, and have photos of). There was plenty of large cobwebs on the walls in the lounge suggesting rushed cleaning/no proper dusting (again, I have photos to show these). The kitchen floor had several very wet areas of what I assume was cleaning solution (judging by the bleachey smell) still present (yep, I have photos of this too). There was no handwash (or soap) in the bathroom which is a minor issue but I would sort of expect that to be there, having spent £700 to book the property. Other minor issues pointing to a rushed cleaning/prep job: several bulbs out in lamps, and the clock stopped due to flat batteries.
I emailed via Booking.com on the night we arrived but over a week later still haven't heard back. I'm not after compensation or a refund, but just wanted this subpar cleaning acknowledged really.

The lodge was spotlessly clean, and having the keys on site made it easy to get unpacked.
Maybe having only two outside chairs for a four person lodge.
