Riad Alili

We had a wonderful stay as a family of four. Christophe was an exceptional host – friendly, knowledgeable and always available for a chat or to help, while Mustafa, Yousef and the entire housekeeping and kitchen teams were equally fantastic. Nothing was ever too much trouble, our rooms were cleaned beautifully every day, breakfast was excellent and the location was perfect for exploring Marrakech. The personal service really stood out. As taxis cannot reach the Riad directly due to the narrow streets, the team came to meet us at the drop-off point, helped with our luggage and walked us to the Riad. They did the same when we left, taking our luggage and seeing us safely to our pickup point. Travelling with children, that level of care was hugely appreciated. Our kids also loved the little turtles in the courtyard! Above all, it was the warmth and hospitality of Christophe and his team that made our stay so memorable.

Genuinely, there was nothing we disliked about our stay. From our arrival to our departure, Christophe and the entire team looked after us exceptionally well and made our family feel completely welcome.

My 9-year-old daughter and I stayed at Riad Alili during our Moroccan adventure. The entire trip was wonderful, but Riad Alili was undoubtedly the highlight. I have visited Marrakech many times and stayed in many riads, but Riad Alili exceeded all my expectations and is by far my favourite riad in the city. Youssef, Mustapha, and the rest of the team welcomed us like family from the moment we arrived. My daughter loved choosing her own scent for the toiletries, and on our last day, Youssef gifted her a beautiful Moroccan dress, which was such a thoughtful gesture. The absolute highlight for my daughter, however, was the four friendly tortoises. She loved searching for them every time we returned home and feeding them their lettuce dinner. On our first evening, we arrived late to find a beautiful table set beside the pool, followed by the most exceptional three course dinner. It was the perfect introduction to this special place. Travelling alone with a child, I especially appreciated how safe and welcoming the riad felt. It was very hot during our stay, so we spent our mornings exploring and our afternoons relaxing by the pool. One evening, we even enjoyed a magical swim by candlelight. The location is perfect, offering the feel of an authentic local neighbourhood while being only a ten minute walk from the main souks, with plenty of lovely restaurants just a few steps away. The Riad is also only a few minutes' walk from the city walls, making taxi access to the airport and other parts of the city incredibly easy. We walked home from the main square one evening and felt completely safe. A huge thank you to everyone at Riad Alili, we have returned home with so many wonderful memories that will last a lifetime, and we cannot wait to return to Riad Alili one day.

We were given such a warm welcome at Riad Alili, even though we arrived at 2AM! The Riad is such a beautiful, tranquil space. Breakfasts were delicious. Our six year old was enchanted by the resident tortoises and loved the pool. Staff were so kind and attentive. The location couldn’t have been better, right in the medina. Felt very safe. I will be returning to Riad Alili as soon as possible!
