Good location to stay

Good location. Metro is 10 minutes walk. Wonderful breakfast. I like the shower and breakfast room. Corin, Aisha and especially Luke (dad) are friendly. I enjoyed talking to Luke about Lyon and his travels. Withinn 30 minutes walk to Vieux Lyon to eat at Bouchons, visit sites such as Bellecour, St. Jean cathedral, Les Halles, train station and Westfield mall. We even hiked up the hill to the notre dame cathedral and rosary garden. We walked almost everywhere except we rode the metro and tram to the confluence as it is a bit far. You can see where Rhône and Soane rivers meet at the confluence. What an awesome city Lyon is. Luke and Aisha allowed us to leave our luggage for a few hours after check out so we can have lunch at a restaurant. I highly recommend this inn.

Street construction but I am sure it will be good after it’s done. Small room but we got used to it. Not a big issue.

A rare gem

What a refreshingly honestly-described and thoroughly charming place to stay in central Lyon. Hosts extremely attentive and professional. They provided a covered garage for our two ebikes, and free battery charging. The rooms in this old bourgeois family house are quirky and creatively decorated - with a wonderful, simple charm. The beds were confortable and the shower great ! The location is very quiet despite being just a few minutes walk from the main Lyon train station (Part Dieu). After a few ‘mixed’ experiences this last week with ‘chambres d'hôte’ and country hotels - it was a joy to discover this place.

Nice stay

We got a very warm welcome and liked our room. The bed was comfy and we got a good nights sleep. The breakfast is simple but good.

The room was really hot, and had a really noisy old ac with a pipe you place out of the open window.

Style over substance

The location was quiet whilst still being close enough to walk into the city

We had a circular bed, which we didn't know about before arrival. As expected it doesn't function very well as a bed and is basically just a futon with a mattress topper. The breakfast didn't start until 8am so if you have to leave before then you don't get much. The room had an A/C unit but it didn't work as the hose wasn't supplied so it just heated up the room. It was already 35°c. There wasn't a shower in the room, just bath. The communication from the owner was sporadic and unhelpful at best. He didn't seem to care about any of the problems or provide solutions to any questions we had. Can't say I'd recommend this place to anyone.

Breakfast excellent but no decaf coffee available for my husband. Room creatively decorated.

The room was individually furnished without being too over the top. The breakfast was traditionally French with fresh bread and jams. The location was near the station and a metro.

Extremely uncomfortable.

Location is good. Good instructions for check in. Room was ready.. Staff is pleasant, but arrived late to serve breakfast.

The room (Cinema) is not comfortable. 1. No cooling in the hot weather. 2. Circular bed is very uncomfortable. It has no headboard or side tables. 3. Bathroom has no shower curtain, hence water spills. 4. No drain in the bathroom. 5. "Movie" style chairs and bench are very uncomfortable. 6. Office table is slanting and chair cushion is sagging, hence both are not usable. 7. There is no cupboard that the customer can use. 8. Breakfast time is 8 am. Staff arrived after 8 to set up breakfast. 9. There are mosquitos. The window has no screen. Overall, a very poor room. We were extremely uncomfortable.

Stress full , but had fun !

Rooms were old but nice and comfortable , the location was good . Met very nice guests from Holland and Australia

Communication was lacking. Did not receive our codes because we had no internet on the road and fortunately for us other guests let us in, we could not get in touch with the property, all worked out but stress full ! We were charged 20 euro for parking in a tight place in the back yard , a renter had to let us in with her key . Half the house is rented out .

Lovely, relaxed BnB in Lyon

The host was very welcoming and helpful. I enjoyed the simple, French breakfast provided. The host asked my preference for a morning pastry (i.e., pain au chocolat, croissant), and drinks, baguette, yogurt, fruits, and other items were available as well. The room was comfortable and the neighborhood was central - close to Gare de Lyon Part Dieu and a short walk to the main touristic areas. I enjoyed being in a neighborhood which felt like an authentic Lyonnaise community.

A bit different and a warm welcome.

Quirky small hotel. Although not in the centre there is a metro 5 mins away and local shops and a couple of good restaurants. Also felt safe as mire than one security coded entrance. Lovely owner and team...so friendly!

Staff is very friendly and careful with your needs. Breakfast has also everything you need depending on your preferences. Good location if you're coming by train, aprox 20 min walk to train station.

Just be aware that the building/room is not so soundproofed, but this can be solved with some earpads if you have noisy neighbours :)

Charming property with charming staff

very charming property, big rooms, modern bathrooms, amazingly friendly staff - basically everything is nice about this property.

not that it is a problem for me (I sleep with earplugs since years) but as it’s an elder house with elder door, the rooms are thus not really sound-proof.

Wonderful place to stay

The room was tastefully furnished And clean. Everything worked well And the stuff was very friendly. The location is walkable to the main train station and walkable to the city center.If I go to Lyon I go there again.

Good choice for couples or friends.

So glad we booked in advance because Felix Dort was fully booked the night we arrived. It's a large, old-fashioned house with 6 ensuite guest bedrooms, about 15 minutes walk from Lyon Part Dieu station. We received a mobile phone message in English before arrival confirming property access details. Room Lugdunum (Roman name for Lyon) was a good size, with twin beds and we both slept very well (don't worry, they have electric bedside lamps, not the decorative candles in the photo!). Good ensuite shower, w.c. and washbasin, but the shower cubicle was a bit small for Mr (he is over 6ft tall). Good continental breakfast choices included in the price, and as requested we made our choices of breakfast food, drinks, and timing on the sheet of paper offered on arrival. Each room received its choices of breakfast, on large separate trays, to individual tables in the breakfast room/conservatory, at the time requested (what a sensible system!). Friendly, helpful staff speak French and English. Paid on arrival with my UK card. We like to choose small hotels and guest houses, and it's been difficult for them during the pandemic, so we wish Felix Dort well.
