• Fantastic location — great spot in Riomaggiore with a stunning view over the colorful town and the sparkling Ligurian Sea; waking up to that panorama was magical.
• Beautiful modern apartment — spotlessly clean, very well-equipped (everything needed for self-catering in the kitchen), super comfortable bed, and peacefully quiet.
• Thoughtful welcome touches — generous welcome gifts, plenty of free coffee and tea, plus other little extras that made it feel like home.
• Exceptional host — the owner was incredibly kind, responsive, and helpful, seamless check-in.
• Overall, it exceeded every expectation — genuine hospitality and a memorable Cinque Terre stay; I’d give it the highest possible rating!

Exceeded expectations. Spacious, clean, nice ocean view, large comfortable bed, brand new bath room with nice shower, enjoyed relaxing on the sofa, television in the living room and one in the bed room was great. Owner gave us pasta, which we cooked with the pasta sauce and fresh tomatoes from the store 5 minutes away. We took the elevator from the rail station and easily enough found the place. The place was scenic, peaceful, and that small Italian village vibe that i could not have experienced in Rome, Florence, or other parts of Italy. The owner greeted us, gave directions, and was available if needed. This friendly village has a unique as did the others in Cinque Terra. The unexpected treats given by the owner was very thoughtful. The info booth at the train station was very helpful in enjoying Cinque Terra.. I wish i had booked more days here.
Everything great. I regret not spending more time in Cinque Terra and staying at this location.

This place was a dream come true. Being able to stare out the window at that magical village perched on the mountainside is an experience we will always remember. The apartment had everything we needed - clearly care has been taken to think of just about anything a guest might need. The bed was very comfortable, not too hard and not too soft. We also appreciated the excellent communication and all-around kindness from the hosts.

A very well appointed and comfortable apartment perfect for a relaxing holiday. Paolo and his father Mario are wonderful hosts. Nothing was too much trouble. Spacious, bright with good views. Modern living in a traditional building. Excellent air conditioning, lovely bathroom and a kitchen for simple cooking. The views were excellent and the sunset can be easily viewed from close by beyond the castle. Handy for all facilities but away from the crowds.
It's not a complaint but be aware it's uphill from the station. Steeply uphill!

Wonderful host, Mario was very helpful. The apartment had a great view, kitchen well appointed, bed and pillows the most comfy of all of Italy. It was well located, quiet and very clean and comfy.
Nothing except just a warning… you did have to walk a ways from the train to the apt uphill. Public elevator to bring you up part of the way was out of order. Don’t bring a lot of luggage! Also return from the train or ferry or town is a bit of a walk up but not unusual for the 5 Terre towns.

The apartment is very well equipped, it’s spacious and comfortable. We are a family of four so that was really important. The welcome was really kind, Sr Mario received us and he explained us everything about the place and the property so we could enjoy our stay completely. Finally, they helped us with our trip back to La Spezia as we had our tickets booked and there were some issues with the trains. Thank you so much, we really enjoy it!

The apartment was perfect for two friends traveling. The sofa bed was so comfortable. Apartment is very clean and has many treats like home, including wine, beer and snacks, coffee and tea! Beautiful view of the town and sea! Mario thought of all details and even helped us carry our luggage up the stairs!
It is a bit of a climb with luggage, but worth it!

I wish we could stay longer. Mario was the perfect host and made us feel at home right away. He was lovely enough to even drop off another beer on a hot day perfect ! The place itself was clean and comfortable for our family to stay. Nothing but a lovely host and a great time.
Nothing at all. If you plan on cooking in and need produce it may be better to buy it from a larger supermarket as options are limited in town. Other then that I can’t wait to return

Location and host were both incredible - I had supper high expectations after reading all the reviews and I wanted to make the best out of this trip with my wife and kids and staying at Appartamento Giovanna allowed me just to do that!
There was nothing I did not like. Oh, actually I did not like I just booked 4 nights instead of 4 months :-)

We had a wonderful stay at Paolo’s flat in Riomaggiore! Paolo and Mario were incredibly helpful, easy to contact, and always quick to respond to any questions we had. The apartment was exactly as described—clean, comfortable, and well-equipped. It was easy to find and conveniently located just a short walk from the train station coming from La Spezia. There is an elevator that takes you from the train station to a five minute walk to the flat. We highly recommend staying here and would gladly return!

We had a wonderful stay at this spacious 1 bedroom apartment with outstanding views. The hosts Paolo, Mario and his wife are so hospitable. During our arrival in a rain storm, Paolo was available through WHATSAPP giving us directions and his father Mario met us halfway and brought us to the apartment where he had goodies waiting for us. The apartment has an espresso machine with plenty of coffee, some brioche buns which got us through the 1st morning before heading out to get fresh groceries in town. The wash machine was an added bonus and was very easy to operate. We opened the windows at night and it was very quiet and peaceful.
We loved everything about our stay.

Comfortable, clean, modern property, not too far from the center of town with a great view of the village and a sliver of the ocean. The communication of the host was outstanding, even helping us locate parking nearby. The bathroom was very up to date and the washing machine was a great touch.
Nothing, really!

The hosts were lovely and responsive. We were welcomed warmly and given all required information both about the apartment and Cinque Terre. The apartment has everything you need and the hosts were kind enought to also leave some sweet treats for the kids and some wine and beer for us 😊 The appartment itself is extremely comfortable, well equipped, and has a beautiful view! We were able to get some amazing pictures leaning out of the windows. It is also relatively easy to reach without too many steps walking. It is also relatively close to several good eating places and 7-8 mins walk from the mini market. Highly recommend this place! We would definitely stay here again.
Nothing to mention.

The apartment is in a perfect location just 5 mins easy walk from the station and close to the village centre. It is very well equipped and we really appreciated there being coffee, pasta and beers in the fridge! Also a beautiful view - thank you Paolo and Mario

The apartment space was good, and the convenience of a washing machine to help us do abit of laundry for our trip. We were met at the apartment by Mario, the father of Paolo, whom gave us a little tour of the apartment and make sure the heater is turn on. Pre-arrival communication via whatsapp is seamless with Paolo. He checked in on us during our stay. They also gifted us a bottle of prosecco for our anniversary, as well as 1 bottle of red wine along with 1 packet of trofie, a jar of pesto and some madeleines. All in all, a good stay.

The apartment is perfect for a stay in the Cinque Terre. Mario, the host, was very quick to respond during the booking process, and we arrived to a well-stocked kitchen including wine, water, and some local pesto. The apartment is very modern and comfortable with a beautiful view. We were able to secure s parking space through Mario, which was very convenient.

great self catering property. very fresh and clean. comfortable bed, all facilities for self catering available including pots and pans and coffee machine. Mario greeted us and was an exceptionally generous host. what a lovely man, it was so appreciated. Beach towels also provided and we were able to hand wash clothing and hang in the pulley line outside the window. pegs provided as well. great location, don’t use Sat Nav to find , just spot the tower with the clock and the apartment is close by.

Loved owners warm hospitality and very clean room conditions. Additionally it was very convenient location and walk distance from station.
Nothing at all and just a note that there are stairs and up hill to approach the place. But the host kindly assisted us to call a cab because we had a bit heavy luggage.

Mario, the local host, was exceptional. He showed us our private garage for the car, then drove us to our apartment where all ingredients for the first night's dinner including a good bottle of wine were laid out. The location in Riomaggiore was excellent and the apartment was tasteful and well appointed.
No issues.

Mario was an incredible host, we got lost trying to find the apartment because Google maps struggles with the hills and roads of Cinque Terre and we called him and Mario came down and walked us to the apartment and even carried my bags for me up the steep steps. He showed us around the apartment and even left us snacks and a delicious Cinque Terre Chianti. The most incredible host and the views from this apartment were beyond anything I could imagine.
It was a little hard to find and Google maps was struggling due to the hills and tiny streets of Cinque Terre.

Beautiful Location…Lovely Apartment…Comfortable Bed…Soundproof Windows.
The directions how to get there!☹️
We were told to go up the hill when we got off the train…and when we see the castle we would be at our destination.
Problem: There are two steep hills…and you cannot see the castle from the station. We got lost.
We called…and the person said, “Walk up to the gate and wait… Mario would be right there to show us to the Apartment.”
We didn’t mind except we were standing there(tired)with suitcases for 20 minutes and had to call again.
Finally, he came and took us up another road. We would have never found it on our own.
The next day…we found out there was an elevator from the train station straight up to the road near the Apartment!!
I write this hoping the directions are stated more clearly for other guests.

Wow! What a great place. Mario was an exceptional host, making sure everything was right. Nice place to stretch out and relax. Kitchen was equipped well enough to prepare our own meals. There are multiple stores to purchase food. You can eat out as well for cheap. There is a vegetarian place close by, Britta, the was excellent. Bed comfortable. Beautiful view I could stare at all day. Laundromat close by. Put the dryer on high temp to fully dry and go in the afternoon when it is not as busy. You are able to visit the rest of cinque terre easily from this town. I loved being immersed in the Italian culture here.
The climb up was quite the workout. If you have health problems it may not be for you.
