Would definitely choose this hotel again on future trips

The beautiful, well-kept hotel grounds rise from the road like a terrace to a deep, clean pool. Across the street, next to the sandy beach, is the hotel restaurant, offering delicious, hearty breakfasts and second-floor rooms with seaviews. The hotel and restaurant staff are very friendly and ready to assist with any travel or swimming equipment needs.

Don't make the same mistake I did by ordering wagyu beef in the restaurant.

Wonderful stay

Everything else was perfect, we love the staff , the rooms, the pool, the location, the food. Everyone is wonderful and nothing is too much trouble.

Awesome location, super friendly staff. Good snorkelling right out the front of the restaurant which was right on the beach. Saw turtles on our first snorkelling session right out the front! Food was delicious with a lovely buffet breakfast with both Indonesian cuisine and western food. Restaurant menu for lunch and dinner also really tasty food and good value. Massage available in a large airy room right above the beach, with good masseuses and again, polite and friendly. So relaxing. Rooms were spacious and clean, with adjoining en suite bathroom. Large balcony overlooking pool with ocean views. Two pools to choose from. Rooftop bar was also fun and in a great spot with perfect views of the sunset. The grounds were amazing with fish ponds and lush tropical plants. Being set up the hill away from the road it was pretty quiet too which is a big plus for us.

The toilet needs upgrading as the seat was sliding around, and although they tried to fix it, it kept doing it. Also the fly screen in bathroom area had a large tear in it where the aircon piping went through so mosquitoes could get in.

location was ok, the pool was nice and big The staff was friendly

The room was unfortunately very close to the main road, so the constant traffic noise made it hard to relax or get that proper holiday feeling. The lighting in the room was also quite harsh and not at all cosy, which added to our disappointment. On top of that, we found cockroaches in the shower — definitely a major downside.

The Musengi holiday

The swimming pools are so nice The looks of the facility is nice The staff is very nice The restaurant is great The nature is great We didn't get the chance to drive around

The 3 rooms we got were not suitable for kids 1. The bathroom had no window and my wife could not even take a bath. 2. Water pressure in the toilet was very low 3. The bathroom door couldn't be opened by kids 4. Doors were not closing properly and insects were coming inside. 5. Curtains were not fully closing and someone could see you from outside 6. Some Toilets had no extraction fans, air vents or windows 7. So many spider webs on the wall. 8. The location has nothing for kids and the beach is very rough. We had to pack our bags the next morning and drove back to Kuta. I was refunded back some of my cash. Driving from Amed to Kuta took us 6 hours due to traffic although the GPS was saying 3 hours

Bad experience and would not visit Amed again

We had to upgrade to a better room as their budget room is really bad. The upgraded room was nice but we had to pay a lot considering we already paid a good amount for their budget room. Their was a mosquito net in our our upgraded room, it even had a good balcony with an extra bed to relax there. The staff of both hotel and restaurant are very nice and helpful.

The budget room is really small for 2 people, it's not clean, the bathroom is very old and dirty and had lizards when we walked in which led us to change to another room but finally upgrade to a better room. There are a lot of lizards and frogs in the resort and you have to be careful while walking around. This is the case for all of Amed so we think it's commonly accepted there now, but we didn't appreciate it. The terrace pool is deceiving as it has a step instead of gradual decline and get's very deep immediately. Considering how deep it was they could have kept a staff around for safety.

The rooms are not on the beach side, they are the other side of the road, which wasn't obvious from initial pictures when booking The restaurant and spa area is beach side though which was nice

Lovely stay in a great location

The location was excellent for the beach at Amed. The restaurant was nicely located on the beach, with accommodation set back up the small hillside. The pools were a nice welcome with a great view of the beach and the mountains. The room was clean and comfortable and they welcomed us when we arrived.

Nice and relaxing

It was our second time in this hotel, great staff. A big pool with warm water. Snorkeling just 10 meters from the restaurant. Free refill of water. Nice rooftop with a bar.

Prices have doubled in 3 years. We did not choose to be upgraded because instead of 50k IDR per night three years ago, we were offered 250k IDR per night, which was far too expensive for us. What was a 10 3 years ago is now a 8 since there is nothing that justify this price hike.

The staff made the whole experience for us. They were so kind, and helpful. Great location.

I was surprised at how small Amed was, but I loved it instantly. The Amed Cafe, is split in two parts. Villas on the southern end of the street and the restaurant overlooking the beach on the Northern. The staff Budi, Rapiani and Suni were so, so lovely to my mum and I, we felt like we were staying with family. We even adopted and fed a little grey kitten Dwi. We had the best time. Our room was kept very clean by the nice man Marta. We will be back we loved it so much. The older style villa's and the charm, were perfect! Great location!

Over all it was ok. the place was clean bed comfy A/C great. Bathroom was clean but sucked a big one. no mirror sink unuseable hot water I could not get it to work so I did not take a shower for 2 days. Breakfast was ok location was great staff was a 10 plus. I would stay there again for sure but in future book the pool view

Great location with the restaurant area located directly by the beach and superb breakfast also included. All staff were super helpful and attended to any comments / requests immediately.

From my perspective there are no negative comments; however there are many stairs to negotiate get to the rooms which could be an issue for some guests.

They advertise "Pool View" rooms with no view of the swimming pool. Staff were adamant some of these rooms were a pool view room.. ensure you check with this hotel that you actually have view of the swimmin pool when booking.. definitely need a reclassification of some of these so called "pool view" rooms.

Friendly, fun, comfortable, relaxing & full!

The traditional Balinese style was beautiful, a little dated, but, still lovely. Wonderful location on the coast & easy to access local activities & venues. The staff were really beautiful, friendly & helpful. The breakfast buffet is plentiful & the restaurant has good food. They also cooked up the fish that we caught. The spa had a beautiful location right on the beach. We hired scooters to look around.

The first night a couple of hotels down on the beach had a band with fireworks, but, wasn’t an issue as it stopped at 11pm. Also, wouldn’t be suitable for those who can’t handle a few stairs.

Private beauty by the beach

The rooms were spacious with high ceilings surrounded by windows and completely separated from each other. Comfortable bed beautiful terrace with hammock and chairs. Bathroom is very big too. Breakfast was worth it, with so many items to choose from and the staff is professional. I can’t say enough, it was a fantastic stay.

The water temperature was difficult to keep consistent but this seems to be common in Bali.

amed is a small town , really set up for diving and snorkeling. the hotel restaurant is on the beach. please note the rooms are over the road. You must have massage in the spa with the ocean in background… best i had in Bali

we had an issue with the room , within 5 minutes they had fixed it. Pool view rooms are the only way to go. the others are a bit dated.

Excellent value for money and family friendly

We had x2 triple/ family rooms with hammock overlooking the pool and great sea views. Th rooms were at the back of the hotel above each other so it was like we had our own little villa and nice and quiet. The rooms were clean and had a huge balcony. The staff couldn’t have been more lovely and helpful. The kids loved the two pools, especially the large one. The roof top bar was nice and the live music good (was only one night and finished by 10pm) Great buffet breakfast

Will stay again sometime!

This was our second 2 week stay and we enjoyed it as much as the first time a few years ago. The smorgasbord breakfast had lots of choices and was delicious. The snorkeling off the front of the hotel was excellent. The pool has beautiful surrounds was great for doing laps. Our room and bathroom were spacious and good value. It was easy to get a taxi to other attractions and easy to walk to other cafes, restaurants and shops. All the staff were always very helpful and friendly. Would recommend.

Loved Amed & loved the Amed Cafe & Hotel Kebun Wayan. It's in two locations with the rooms, pools & rooftop bar/restaurant quite steeply tiered built into the hillside then the cafe area is right on the beach with loungers just feet from the water where you can snorkle with turtles straight after breakfast : ) The staff were all super helpful & friendly. Really fell in love with this place.

The rooms are a little dated but still very charming. The wifi in my room wasn't reliable enough to work from but the staff were so accommodating & let me set up camp in the rooftop bar or reception when I needed to make calls etc.

Exceptional

This place was amazing, I was so happy that I booked this. The property and the rooms were perfect for my wife and I. The breakfast was delicious and there was great snorkeling from the beach.

The only thing I didn't like was the taste of the dinner at the main restaurant. I ordered satay chicken and there was little or no flavor and the only sambol they served was in a bottle. There is several local restaurants near by so no worries. The hotel also has a small warung in front of the restaurant and that was really good.

Its located perfect when travelling with a big group. In the city centre and still the feeling of being in a tropical forrest. The staff is really friendly and accomodating. The helped us book a bus back to Kuta for a good price.

Great location

The staff were very friendly and helpful. I booked my transport to the Gili Islands with them and it was very easy and good value. The view from the beachfront restaurant was beautiful and the breakfast had good options. The location is handy for everything I needed. You can snorkel right outside the hotel, as well as walking round to the bay nearby.

The hotel is a little tired. The first room I was shown didn't have a working lock, but they moved me when I asked. It's understandable for the price.
