Basic, clean, quiet and super central Mechelen. Very nice staff. Bed, linens, bath all great.

Perfect for my needs and expectations

Perfectly located in the centre of Mechelen and within walking distance of the train station.

No service beyond the cleaning and a person in the breakfast room during the morning. No tea or coffee making facilities in the rooms. No possibility for purchasing drinks or snacks in the hotel. Nobody was ever at reception. The room was quite basic and the bathroom very small (couldn’t open the shower door without hitting the toilet). While the room was clean, the carpet on the hallway needs to be replaced or deep cleaned. Broken mirrors in the lift and the room.

Great location, well cleaned. Good amenities, wifi and private bathroom. The staff is friendly and the hotel was overall quiet.

The virtual keys are buggy. When asked the staff told me they left keys for everyone behind an unmanned counter, meaning anyone could walk off with YOUR room key.

The location is in a small street in front of the St Rombouts, the middle of the center and good neighbourhood. Mixed feelings with internet access to hotel and room. You need a smart phone, and don't loose it, or you you can't enter the hotel and call a special service.

Received message to pick up the keys in another hotel, but the staff of that hotel told that I should go strait to Drie Paardekens because the reception was open. I required a quiet (backroom) room and got a room at the street side, first floor. The shower cabinet in bathroom was very small, difficult to enter because the toilet is blocking the entrance of the shower. The toilet is small and very low to the ground..... Not many local TV programs.
