One of the most authentic romantic places to spent valentine's day with my loved one.

We liked the location, in the mid of the old begijnhof, close to the city centre. The accomodation is beautifully done and maintains the old begijnhof atmosphere. The breakfast was very good, in a common room, that is available all day to sit or make some coffee or tea. The owner is friendly.

Not much to dislike. I am relatively long (1.95m) and the doors are more medieval size, somewhere around 1.80m. For me it added to the cosiness, and I managed not to bang my head. We visited in Februari, and it was still cold. In spring / summer we might take a seat in the garden.

Cosy quirky house in beautiful part of Mechelen

Wow, this is a hidden gem in Mechelen! Mathieu is an amazing host very welcoming and such a lovely person. The breakfast has everything you might want from fresh bread and eggs to fruit and yogurt. It’s a quirky house so if you are looking for something with nice character and a cosy feel this is the place for you. I stayed for 4 nights on my own and felt very safe and well looked after. Lovely historic area of Mechelen as well, nice and quiet.

THE BEST PLACE WE HAVE EVER STAYED!

This was one of the best B&B we have ever stayed at, it is ran by the loveliest man who was super polite and made the most delicious handmade breakfast at the time of our choice- the homemade yoghurt was our absolute favourite. When we were there, we walked up to a room that was decorated beautifully- high ceilings and a huge bath to relax in with a homely, wooden feel to it. We even came back 4 days later after a festival and he was delighted to let us in at 11am instead of 3pm, which we greatly appreciated. He even saved a bottle of lotion i had left for me from the previous day we stayed! This is a 10/10 location with lovely helpful staff. We will be back next year for definate!!

Unforgettable stay in a nice quiet (& historic) place in wonderful Mechelen

Practically everything. 1. Location in the heart of a quiet nice historic quarter that is part of a World Heritage Site (flemish beguinages) not far from the cathedral and main square or the fishmarket area by the river. 2. The house keeps the authenticity and charm one expects in this kind of historic places, with a very personal decoration and details that make it cozy and interesting. 3. The breakfast was excellent. 4. Last but not least: above all the host is great, nice and helpful

The room suffers a bit from space constraints, -something to be expected in an attic room-, and access requires climbing some steep stairs, but on the other hand, this condition gives a bit more charm to the experience.

I rate this high for hospitality, nice man very friendly and helpful I slept in the very best bed compared to even Van der Valk, but most of all, it is away from the city center and just 7 minutes away, I had a very good stay and certainly pefer to book again for personal trips to Mechelen! Hospitality was the most important factor. Fantastic owner who kindly gave me a lift as taxis were not available. It’s a very cozy location in an authentic house. Breakfast was delicious and served in a home environment. Great stay to be remembered.

A lovely bed and breakfast in a central location

A very characterful property.It was a real bonus having a bath in the room given that we had cycled there in extreme heat. Our host was very welcoming and looked after us well.

Great quiet location for centre Mechelen, but parking was a problem

Charming little B&B with a very good breakfast; located in a very quiet area

No parking nearby and recommended car parks were full so took 30 minutes to find a parking space; we arrrived when it was dark and it was not very easy to find the B&B

Very kind host and delicious breakfast. The room/bathroom are very clean and the facilities renovated. It is located within walking distance from the central square and close to bus stops. Totally recommended.

We simply felt at home and liked everything in this place: fox head doorknob, wooden steps staircase to the room, window in the bathroom, old look of the room and its cleanliness, breakfast. TV has the smart hub option and installed Netflix app, so you can use your account to watch favorite tv shows. Someone wrote that it was cold during their stay - I don’t agree. Just don’t forget to turn on heating. We were welcomed by the father of the host and he made our stay absolutely perfect. Next time in Belgium we’ll definitely visit Mechelen and return to this place!

Cura dei dettagli e tanta ospitalità.

Io e il mio compagno abbiamo soggiornato in questo B&B per tre notti durante il periodo delle feste natalizie. La struttura si presenta molto curata nei dettagli, piccola ma dotata di tutto quello che serve. Si trova a circa 25 minuti a piedi dalla stazione di Mechelen ed è ottima come base per poi spostarsi e raggiungere le altre cittadine (Bruxelles, Anversa ecc). La stanza matrimoniale non è grandissima ma bella, curata e pulita. La vasca da bagno è stata proprio una coccola serale perfetta, dopo i tanti chilometri a piedi fatti durante la giornata. Il punto forte della struttura è la colazione: varia e abbondante, preparata con cura da Mathieu il gentilissimo proprietario che per tutta la nostra permanenza ci ha trattati con cura e affetto. Inoltre la cosa bella è che il B&B mette a disposizione per tutto l’arco della giornata (nella stanza principale) una macchinetta per il caffè espresso, un bollitore per tisane o the caldo, acqua naturale. L’abbiamo trovato un valore aggiunto, soprattutto quando la sera stanchi dalla giornata, abbiamo potuto sorseggiare un the caldo per riscaldarci. Come ultima nota positiva vogliamo sottolineare quanto siamo stati sorpresi e grati per la gentilezza e l’occhio di riguardo che ha avuto Il proprietario in quanto l’ultima mattina del nostro soggiorno, avevamo comunicato che non avremmo usufruito della colazione perché avevamo il volo molto presto e solitamente l’orario di colazione era dalle 8 alle 10, Mathieu senza che noi gli chiedessimo nulla, c’ha proposto di anticiparla alle 6 facendoci trovare una bella colazione con uova, caffè caldo, cornetti ecc pronti per noi in modo che potessimo mangiare e raggiungere l’aeroporto senza problemi. Consigliamo vivamente questa struttura e se dovessimo tornare in Belgio, sicuramente torneremo.

Gelegen in een charmante wijk; het Begijnhof. Wat geweldig om hier te mogen overnachten. Je wandelt zo naar het centrum of brouwerij de Anker voor een lekker biertje. Kamer helemaal prima en ontbijt was goed verzorgd.

zeer mooie locatie. Prijs - kwaliteit echt wel OK

De kamer was ijskoud. De verwarming was veel te laat opgezet waardoor de temperatuur pas in de ochtend een beetje dragelijk was. Weinig privacy omdat je elk geluid van de kamer naast je kon horen.
