Grove House Hotel

Comfortable, clean and well appointed room. Staff very helpful. Location is pretty good, it’s only a short walk to the Grassmarket and Royal Mile. The property has a nice lounge to use.

My room was smaller than all the pictures suggest but manageable for 1 person. Let’s face it accommodation in Edinburgh is not cheap especially at fringe time but the size of the room and no linen service during the stay made it feel expensive.

Location of the hotel was very advantageous - walking distance to the city center and Haymarket Station (trains, buses, trams, also these going to the airport). The room was enough for 3 nights with comfortable bed and small bathroom (cosmetics available). Coffee, tea and botteled water available in the room and in the pantry. We were informed about the availability of free basic breakfast even though we haven't included it in our reservation - there were croissants and a selection of rolls as well as butter, nutella etc. Enought to start the day. There is also a fridge for the guests. Very kind and helpfull staff. Luggage storage available.

The hotel is located in an old building so you must be aware that there are some disadvatages of such buildings - small windows and very small bathrooms. The isolation from the corridor sounds is not very good. The floor is covered with a very thick carpeting to reduce the sounds and hide the curvature of the floors.

Very clean and comfortable, excellent complimentary breakfast and parking available.

Good location, overall the room was clean and the shower was pretty new. Room was fairly renovated. It was quite, and pretty easy to get there from Haymarket station (tram/train/bus). Basic breakfast (nice scones and coffee) if you get there early enough.

Our room was not serviced in the first night. We asked for it to be serviced in the next day and it was, but the towels were not changed (maybe its standard for hotels in Edinburgh but for me it was weird). The toilet lid did not stay up (very annoying). Water pressure was low in the shower.
