parking nightmare

The hotel was fine. Excellent breakfast. My room was soundproofed from the outside and very quiet inside. The fuse box was in the WC, so you couldn't hear it and there was none of the ambient noise you get in most modern hotels. I slept well.

The hotel has reserved parking spaces in a public parking in the parallel street. There are two car parks in this street and I managed to get the wrong one, as the correct one is not well signed as a car park. Having found the correct car park, I left the car there overnight. In the morning I couldn't find the entrance back to the car park and needed the receptionist to point to the correct door. I was given a digital card to exit the car park. The card didn't work when I tried to swipe to enter the car park. I pressed the help button and someone opened the door for me. I drove the car from level -1 and came to a gate which led to the ground floor. I assumed the gate would open automatically, but it didn't. Eventually I found the little machine and swiped my card. Nothing happened. I tried several more times. In the end I pressed the button and the agent kept asking me whether I had a card and to use the card. I kept telling her that I had a card, but it didn't work. Eventually she got fed up and hung up on me, leaving me and my car stuck on level -1. I had to wait for another hotel guest to leave. Their card worked, they let me out, and my own card worked when I swiped at the final exit. Returning to the hotel, the receptionist explained that sometimes you needed to swipe the card to the machine 2 or 3 times before it would work. Obviously I didn't know that, and I think the card I was given was an old one which no longer worked properly. After all that, it occurred to me that, given that I was staying at the hotel Saturday night / Sunday morning, I could have parked in the street in front of the hotel - and saved myself €13 and half an hour's stress.

Active holiday in Brest - and couple other cities too

Service as a whole was quick and good. Pretty quiet area, but city center is near enough to walk there.

Gluten free bread was terrible (however it seemed that word "gluten-free" is almost unknown in Bretagne and for people living there thus it was not just this hotel's issue...)

not ideal for business trips

Thursday evening asked for laundry, not possible as the laundry company doesn't come on Friday,weekend and Monday..so basically only laundry possible on thu. and wed. Came Saturday with guests for dinner, but restaurant and bar are closed in the weekend, noting mentioned at check in!, Heater in room goes to 19 degrees after an hour.

A cozy and comfortable stay!

The room and bathroom were compact but comfortable. The twin beds were nicely sized and very comfortable to sleep in. The breakfast was great and the staff at the reception as well as in the restaurant was very helpful. The hotel is centrally located on a fairly quiet street (actually Brest is generally a quiet city).

I felt like the restaurant was short staffed. They had just one person catering to all the guests during breakfast.

Unfortunately the restaurant wasn’t open during our stay. The window in our room didn’t close properly so was a bit cold and noisy at night.

Central location was very convenient. Brittany was an interesting region to discover.

Our bedroom could have been slightly bigger. Access to the underground car park rather complicated.
