Great for a base for a few nights

We were on the top floor, they offered to carry bags up for us. Nice and quiet, had control over the hearing, spacious, fine for few nights.

There was a strange smell in the room when first entered but it soon went.

I researched the hotel beforehand so it was exactly what I expected.

This is an accomodation only hotel. My single room absolutely served its purpose because I only needed a place to sleep, shower etc and I wasn't troubled by any sort of noise. The staff were friendly and prepared to be helpful.

The two issues I had were that the bathroom lacked any sort of hook, rail or surface to put your towels on so they just had to go on the floor. The second thing was that the heating didn't come on in the morning so the room and bathroom were not warm to get up in, shower in etc. It did, however, come on in the evening so the room was nice and warm then.

Everything, free parking, near the sea, bed was ok , good kettle and tea and coffee, staff helped with telling us where to go out after arriving

My 3rd time staying here and it is a great place to stay in Whitley Bay. The hotel is very central and close to all of Whitley Bay's attractions (Seafront, Beach, Spanish City, Bars, Restaurants, Shops, Lighthouse, Ice Rink, Hillheads Park etc.). The room itself is incredible value for money - very comfortable room and the bathroom has all you need. The staff are excellent and personable. There were no problems at all but I have confidence that the staff would have done their utmost to help had there been any problems.

Very noisy with other guests potentially contractors getting up for work, banging communal doors and smoke alarm going off twice in two days (staff said they suspected someone smoking in their room) Shower in room A9 was very poor and door almost impossible to close when inside shower due to poor fitting

Very convenient location for us close to everything we needed. Our room was comfortable, spotlessly clean and well equipped with tea and coffee making equipment etc. and the staff are friendly. We were more than happy with our stay here and found it good value for money.

Cracking stop-over

Well, what's not to like? The room was plenty big enough, bed comfy. Vincent at check-in was helpful - telling us which pubs to avoid and where we could get a meal. For a "room only" night, this place is perfect (clean and tidy). No limits on the street parking.

Convenient, clean and comfortable

The room was large and airy with a view of the sea and very comfortable. The position of the hotel was excellent - convenient for accessing local amenities, with the buses and metro a short walk away. The stay was certainly value for money.

The noise of the seagulls waking us up in the morning - but at least we knew we were at the seaside

Satisfactory but could be improved on as stated above

Location was ideal for our needs, staff were very pleasant and helpful

Using the shower fused the lighting circuit and using the kettle made room light flash on and off...needs looking at. We were in Room A1 and the bathroom was a bit on the very small side and vehicle parking was a problem although it advertised parking being available, they meant street parking if available but apart from that we had a reasonable stay. T.V remote not working. Room A1 is above the pub below and in the evenings was very noisy into the late hours, this was not mentioned in the hotels description, this should be added.

It was a nice quiet room. Comfortable bed. Nice pleasant and helpful hosts.who took our bags upstairs and arranged our taxi. Parking was a lot easier than we anticipated.

Dirty, dingy, noisy. Don’t do it.

It was cheap

Where to start, room was disgustingly dirty as was bathroom. Bits of walls and ceiling painted leaving brow where they didn’t bother, they just went over the worst bits, bathroom door painted by a 3 yr old , runs and drips everywhere. We didn’t have a shower both nights as it was horrible. No window or fan in bathroom so that’s nice after a curry. The hotel is connected to a put and opposite another pub that were very loud on Friday and Saturday until 3 in morning. Drunken revellers shouting profanity’s. The owner advised us to go foxes cafe for breakfast Don’t do it ,we did and food okay but a dingy hole, we saw him there that’s why he recommended it, second morning went weatherspoons and it was great food and lots of choice. I would not recommend unless you’re 18 on the lash with mates.

The location was perfect for centre of town and nightlife. Also there was parking off the street and the room was comfortable and had everything you would need.

The price was a bit higher considering you did not get any breakfast and we have paid less at other locations and got breakfast with it.
