Overall cleanliness in the room and the dining area was of a high degree. The room was bright, fully equipped with everthing that was required in the sleeping area and shower room including tea, coffee making facilities, a comprehensive guide to the local area including restaurants and places of interest. The location of the guest house was within a short walk to the promenade and the town. The host was polite, engaging and provided a sumptuous breakfast which was exceptional value for money.

Nothing comes to mind that could be improved on.

The property was exceptionally clean and modern, the room was lovely, warm and inviting on our arrival. It’s just a short walk to the beach. Paul shared a wealth of information about the area, with suggestions of where to eat and the local amenities.

To be fair I don’t think there is anything negative about the property, if anything, maybe an option of variations of the cooked breakfast that was available, but to be fair, the breakfast was excellent!

This was our second visit and it was brilliant.

If I really had to think of something and this is only a personal request but would have been nice to have beans or tomatoes as a breakfast option. I’m certain you had them on our first trip. Breakfast was lovely with amazing choice

The room was perfectly fine and had everything you'd expect, I had the single room. Despite the wind and rain outside, I didn't feel like I needed extra heat but the option was there and nicely explained to me. The made to order breakfast options, which I didn't have, looked and smelt wonderful. If you are looking for a place near the parkrun, this is 10 minutes walk away. Lots of restaurant recommendations and options. When I was walking out later you can basically just follow your nose and it will be hard to go wrong! Parking really easy on the road, I parked opposite without any problem. The space directly in front is also reserved for guests.

The blinds didn't quite cover the windows and not a real criticism of the room but I was there during a storm, it did wake me up but that's down to the weather. The bed wasn't quite as comfy as I would've liked but it's not terrible either and I think combined with the storm I woke up a few times. The wifi was very slow in the room, I was hoping to watch a bit of Netflix but in the end I didn't bother.

Wonderful, stylish house in quiet location, minutes walk away from pubs, restaurants and the beach. Fabulous breakfast.. fresh fruits, yoghurts and cooked options.

We had a fantastic stay at The Metropolitan Guesthouse in Whitley Bay. Its location is spot on, just a short walk from the beach, local shops, and eateries, which made exploring the area a breeze. Parking wasn’t an issue for us; we found spots easily in the nearby public areas without any hassle. But the real highlight was our host, Paul—he’s an absolute gem! Incredibly friendly and helpful, he went out of his way to share local tips and recommendations, and his quick wit and cheerful banter added a fun touch to our mornings. The breakfast was generous and delicious, with a great variety of options including a satisfying vegetarian choice that didn’t feel like an afterthought. Everything was fresh and well-prepared, setting us up perfectly for the day. We’ll definitely be back—thanks so much, Paul, for making our trip memorable!

Unfortunately one of the windows couldn’t be opened fully and it happened to be a very hot day/night.

The shower very hit and miss with being electric.

Paul was a lovely host- he gave suggestions of where to eat, where local bars are and how far the lighthouse was. Room had everything we needed, with some good little touches, such as cotton wool pads, ear buds, toiletries. Good locations, close to the town. The walk to the light house is anything between 40 mins and an hour, depending on your pace! We didn't book for breakfast, so cannot comment on that.

Parking on street is fine..but image could be a problem if in a busy season. Bathroom was a bit on the small side, but is is a guest house, so it's not a big deal and we were only there for 1 night.

Beautifullly Boutique with stylishly curated decor and loved the artworks. Clean and fresh with heavenly toiletries. Beds very comfy. Private little courtyard at the front of the property was a lovely bonus. Breakfast was good and proper hot tea in a lovely glass teapot. So well situated with the beach at the end of the road and the Metro less than 5 minutes walk away.
