Beautiful place in Como

Right in front the lake with an amazing view from the room. A small balcony but cozy and spacious enough to have a nice dinner or lunch with your partner or friend. Very quiet area which is something we enjoy.

Very beautiful surroundings but not much restaurants. This is not their fault though I also felt that they could paint a bit here in there just give it a fresher look. It’s not a deal breaker but I would make it a 10 instead of 9

We just returned from an unforgettable week at Residence Matilde in Vassena, and I can’t recommend it highly enough. Tucked right on the shores of Lake Como, this renovated apartment complex (fully updated in 2017) feels like a peaceful escape from the world, yet it’s only an 8 km drive to the bustling charm of Bellagio. Vassena itself is a quaint hamlet in Oliveto Lario, perfect for those seeking quiet mornings with coffee overlooking the water and easy access to hikes or ferry rides.

The view from the apartment is amazing. The space is good.

The host did not meet us and the place is hard to find. Once located it is clear that approaching from one side is so much easier and guests need to know this before hand as SatNav and Google maps will send you the wrong way. There is no free parking available nearby. There are 3 hour bays nearby with operation times of 8am to 8pm or pay by the hour bays. This is all a few hundred metres from the apartment. The apartment is middle floor of three and you hear your neighbours above and below if occupied (hard flooring and hard furnishings throughout). You need to research where this place actually is. It is a very pretty little place but there is nothing other than the (quite unwelcoming) hotel nearby, a small and very rustic pizzeria / restaurant within one minute walk and a small convenience store about few steps further. The restaurant was nice enough but definitely a one visit place. The shop has a very small range and definitely not enough to shop for any self catering - we just about put a breakfast together and of course it is expensive. The nearest supermarket is quite a way off and you will not want to drive those roads for the sake of a few supplies! Apartment is relatively convenient for Bellagio (which is an absolutely stunning place), however, I see no advantage in price so I would stay nearer to, or directly in Bellagio when returning.

Great place 10/10 would recommend.

The location was perfect, it was quiet and the local shop and cafe were 100% inviting. We didn't feel like tourists (even though we are lol). Klod was a great host. The views were stunning and we backed right onto the lake. The air-conditioning was perfect. Shower was lush. I could go on.

The freezer needed defrosting, I think the previous guests had left it slightly open. Meaning it was hard to keep closed. The boat rental place at the end of the garden is only for the hotel.

We love the beach beside the lake. The suite was phenomenal! So clean, new, and well kept. We love Roberta the host. She patiently answered all of our questions. We were able to do our laundry. Great Nespresso machine in unit. Bathroom was spa like with rain shower head. Sports on beach outside Residence Matilde. Fully equipped modern kitchen. Da Pino Market just steps away. Free parking only steps away in village. Close to Ferry boarding. Excellent stay !!! Thanks, Roberta!

the best place when you have active rest

the apartment was fully equipped. In kitchen we had all what we need to prepare a maeals. The bedroom had a comfortable bed. Directly from window we saw lake, in garden we had sunbeds.

Nice lake view. Friendliness of the host. Roberta expected us with a warm welcome and did everything to make the stay as convenient as possible. Property has direct access to lake Como.

Heavenly apartment on the bank of Lake Como

This is a slice of heaven. We didn't want to leave. It's a house with 4 flats, each off the immaculate hallway that leads down to the garden. This was perfect to sit in and gaze at the amazing view across the lake and mountains. The dog loved the secure garden too. You can drive to the door to drop off and then park next to the church, just a few metres away. The apartment was spotless and beautifully refurbished, as if brand new. Spacious and very comfortable. A little balcony too. In the tiny village is everything you could need: great restaurant, cafe/bar, chemist, shop, ferry stop. It is less than a 10 minute drive to Bellagio and we found it easy to park, in the morning, early May. The thing that made this exceptional, apart from the location, was Roberta who was do friendly, professional and helpful. Thank you. You made every just that bit better!

The village is very small, and there are no grocery stores nearby. Only one resturant in the area (a very good one). I felt the matress and pillows where too soft, but i geuss it is a matter of personal preference. The street is extremely narrow, so when you first arrive and when you leave - it is very hard to get close by with a big car. However, throughout the stay we did not have to go in and out, as there is free, accessible parking down the road.

Everything was great Roberta is a super host. She took care of everything we requested. The apartment was spotless and bright and in excellent location on the lake. She gave us good recommendations to explore the area. Were stayed for 6 nights and we enjoyed every minute. Very recommended.

Peaceful stay in one of Lake Como's beautiful small towns

I don't even know where to start. Roberta is a lovely host. She was incredibly attentive and responsive. The apartment was clean and comfortable, with all the necessary amenities. It's located in a cute small town off the beaten path, with a yard, access to the lake, and a boat rental company right next door. Best of all, the view is unbeatable. It genuinely feels like heaven. I couldn't have asked for better accommodations. Highly recommend!

I really can't think of anything, other than the fact that there's not many restaurants/stores in town. I'd definitely recommend coming with a car.

Beautiful quiet location on lake Como. Vasenna ferry port, bus stop and public car park are all on the doorstep of this property. Beautifully appointed stylish appartment, with excellent facilities and great air conditioning. Our host Roberta was very helpful and able to answer all our queries and give great advice on lake Como and other places we were travelling to. Café, shop, pizza, hotel all withing a short 2 min walk. Boat rental, kayak etc at bottom of garden. Enjoyed are stay very much in this scenic location a beautiful place to dip into lake Como.

Excellent location, the most spectacular view I've seen at Lake Como, beautiful and intimate garden, the lake at a fiew steps, good restaurant and especially Boat2go literally yards away, all in a quiet little village, 10 minutes from Bellagio. Very friendly host, wish we could have stayed longer.

Perfect!

It is situated in a small village, 10 minutes bus ride from Bellagio. The garden is right on the bank of the lake and the mansarda is very romantic. The host, Roberta, was very kind, spoke good English, was always available for all sorts of questions, gave recommendations for activities and even gave us a lift a few times when travelling in the same direction. She made the experience truly enjoyable. The cafe next to the residence has very very good pizza!

Wow! We have never had such a good host as Roberta! She is so kind, friendly and helpful! The accommodation is also very clean, modern and comfortable. We felt very comfortable from the first moment. The location of the residence is also perfect. It is located in the small village of Vassena and therefore away from tourism. In the village, however, there is everything you need to stay overnight: a small supermarket, a cute cafe with seats right on the lake and a very good restaurant. Dear Roberta, thank you very much for everything. We would love to come back.

Private relaxing by the lake

We loved it here, best accommodation of our italy trip ! We had the top floor appartement. The appartement is very big, clean&modern, with a nice view as well. We really felt at home here. Loved the garden as well, it is big and has view on the lake. Since there are just a few appartements you get a lot of privacy here. (Also it is a small town so you get a more authentic experience since there are just very few toerists.) Good for swimming&relaxing. We would love to come back sometime :)

One tip for travelers; Since the appartement is in a very lovely small town, there is just one café and one shop, which often were closed earlier than official opening times. Make sure you buy/bring enough food, there is a kitchen to cook and supermarket in bellagio +-10-15 min away.I heard there is also another restaurant now open nearby!

Simply amazing

I can only confirm all the positive comments. Roberta is a sweetheart, always available, super easy and just lovely. The apartments are new, modern and well decorated. The view, the possibility to have a swim, the nearby boat rental. Everything was perfect. Only thing was, but that is just my personal issue, I have back pain and the mattresses are a bit hard, but totally cosy and nice. Thank you Roberta for being you and this lovely place💕💕🥰🥰🤩🤩🤩

We loved it all. From the view to the lake to Roberta'welcoming and kindness. The residence was really clean and we had everything thant we needed. Really close to Bellagio. Like 15 mins by car. We had a boat rental just near us, so we got easy on the lake.

The owner was very kind and the home was lovely. The accommodations were new and the view was great. Also you can rent a boat or kayak next door. It's approximately 15 minute drive to Bellagio.

The parking is a short walk away from the residence, but it was free. Also, only one small bar in the area to eat and drink, but they had good coffee and brioche.

Ideal apartment for a family holiday

Our host Roberta is the best: she knows all the nice restaurants and things to do in the area. Really helpful! The apartment was clean and had all the utilities for a well spent holiday. The view over the lake was spectacular and the garden was a nice place to relax after a long day of trips and walks in the area.
