Very pleasant one-night stay.

Excellent location for visiting Shrewsbury. Pleasant, well laid-out room in a characterful building. Good choice of cooked breakfast along with fresh coffee/tea and other items.

Property was in a prime location and the staff were very helpful and cheerful

The room we were situated in was presumably directly above the kitchen, which meant our room had a constant smell of grease. That made the room a tad unpleasant to spend extended periods of time in.

Lovely friendly staff the room was basic lovely and clean comfortable bed hairdryer in room iron and ironing board available excellent idea the breakfast was really tasty overall we loved it .

The lighting above the sink in the room didn't work I have not the best eyesight but I used the bathroom the lighting was good in there to put on my make up .

Bit noisey late on with live music but on last night we went back when it had finished..

This is a lovely old pub and I really enjoyed my stay here, they serve great beer and fab live music. The staff were lovely. The lady serving breakfast was very friendly and helpful. Great breakfast. Excellent location. My room had all the facilities needed and an excellent tea tray was provided. Really good value for money.

Nothing really. The amount of stairs was difficult while taking up a heavy suitcase, but was not a problem otherwise. The external bathroom was a bit inconvenient when getting up to use the toilet at night, but it is your own private bathroom, so no one else will be using it

Breakfast was excellent. Bedroom was large.

The shower room was separate to the bedroom down the corridor. This was made clear at the time of booking and the shower room was for my exclusive use. Not ideal, but no real problem.

Great little spot that's central to everything Shrewsbury

Very central to everything, staff were very friendly, breakfast food was lovely with decent variety, food and drink during the day was affordable and good quality, entertainment is very good.

Only real downfall is the beds weren't overly comfortable, they were fine for somewhere to lay your head but not great.

The Old Post Office

Staff were very friendly and helpful. We enjoyed our stay very much thanks. Wendy who provides breakfast was very efficient. Breakfasts were really good.

There was nothing to dislike or cause aggravation. We knew as a pub it might get noisy in the evenings but it was actually great to hear people enjoying themselves. Slept reasonably well.

NOTHING - AVOID THIS PLACE AT ALL COSTS!

** DO NOT STAY HERE!! ** I booked this hotel while attending a wedding, and the experience was nothing short of a nightmare. When I arrived, my room wasn’t ready. I was forced to get changed for the wedding in the pub toilets, hardly the standard of comfort and professionalism you expect from a hotel. I was assured that later in the evening, I could collect my key and bag from the storage room. However, when I returned after the wedding, the entire place was locked up. I had no way of getting into my room and ended up spending the night outside on a bench, freezing cold and feeling completely unsafe. The next morning, it was the cleaner who found me lying there - not a single member of staff had bothered to check or take responsibility. To make matters worse, the hotel has flatly refused to acknowledge their mistake or issue any kind of refund. If you value professionalism, safety, or even the bare minimum of hospitality, avoid this place at all costs. Management and staff clearly don’t care about their guests. ** attached are images of where I slept **

Excellent location, well-run hotel.

The room was a good size, freshly decorated, comfortable and well supplied with tea/coffee making and washing products. An excellent, freshly cooked breakfast was included in the price. Well cooked and well priced evening meals were also available. The bar was open every day and there was some evening entertainment if required. An excellent location in the historic town centre just off a road, so good for access but no traffic noise. Very quiet at night. 15 minutes walk from rail station. 24 hour private access to rooms. An historic building so necessary to climb stairs. Helpful and friendly staff.
