The hotel is located in the centre of the town. Plenty of pubs and shops in the area.
The room is spacious and the bed comfortable. No window to the outside but a window to an "antique" area with amphora...
There is a TV but it's a bit old. There is also a table that was sufficient for me to set up my laptop and work.
The hotel is on top of a pub. This means the room can be noisy but I was prepared (I always travel with earplugs).
The breakfast was great.
I would come again.

The exterior doesn’t look quite like the pictures but the interiors are quite nice, and it is extremely well located near everything in town. The staff were very helpful and the attached pub is open quite late for a drink

I want to start by saying this review is not linked to the staff, who were lovely. I would also like to state this pub is a great building in a great location, however, for me, that was also the problem. I am for people doing what they want but... the problem with the Bull Inn is t
Old and thin sash windows, although very attractive, afford no sound protection. The Bull Inn is not a noisy bar itself, but my advice is; don't stay here if you want any sleep because the people who go out for a night in Shrewsbury are noisy. I am not talking about standard town noise, I am talking about shouting and screaming. I am not talking about at a reasonable hour, I went to bed around 1am myself, I am talking about well into the early hours.
I stress that obviously this has nothing to do with the Bull Inn, in the same way they are not responsible for the considerable early morning noise, deliveries that kind of thing. However, I would note that the windows in the room I had, which is the room with the private bathroom, may as well as have been open..... Another quick note, my misunderstanding I should think, a private bathroom is another way of saying the bathroom is across the hallway, so please don't confuse this like I did. Another note on that bathroom, forget about going to the loo if you struggle getting up and down, or a larger build. I don't fall into those categories but if I did, I am unsure how I would have squeezed down onto the toilet!
So, thumbs up to the Bull Inn as an establishment, but for me, thumbs down for the lack of protection agaisnt the considerable Saturday night, Sunday early morning noise. Maybe consider booking any room except for the rooms at the front, and maybe consider booking any room except the one with the private bathroom.
