The staff were all excellent, friendly and efficient. With relatively few people staying at the hotel it was very quiet and though breakfast and dinner were fine, choice was somewhat limited and some menu items were unavailable. The room was very clean, adequate size, comfortable bed, but the shower was a bit small. This was our second stay here and we'll stay again as it's very convenient for visiting Oxford as the Park and Ride is less than 10 minutes away.
Only the dinner menu and shower size as already mentioned.

Evening meal and breakfast were excellent, reasonably priced, nice room, and very helpful staff. Excellent location.
The rain, which i am not blaming the hotel for!

Breakfast was great.
Low door into Bathroom was a little worrying, at 6'3 i only just cleared it.

Location is beautiful and well situated for Oxford. The room was spacious and comfortable. All staff very friendly and helpful
Satnav did not take us to the correct place on a dark January night. Further descriptors from the hotel would have helped

The staff were fantastic. I was a little shocked that the accommodation I was given was very similar in style to any travel lodge, but the finish and comfort was excellent. The food was delicious, if a bit limited in choice.
Just the aesthetics of the building I was housed in. Such a pity that it wasn't more in keeping with the other buildings.

Clean and tidy, staff friendly and helpful.
Very quiet in the restaurant on Saturday evening we were by ourselves.
Being woken up at 6.30am by the staff chatting outside our bedroom window at the start of their shift.
No view from the bedroom window frosted glass.

Location was perfect.
Wasn’t aware we were going to be in a separate building but it was still lovely.
Dark trying to park in the car park. The signs would be better lit up.

We had a lovely room in the main hotel, spacious with a lovely comfortable large bed. Breakfast was nice, There were not a lot of people staying there on the Friday night so breakfast was ordered and cooked fresh. We had our daughter and her partner join us for breakfast and were charged ÂŁ15 for each of them. There was also pastries, yogurt, cereal to have.
Saturday there was a cooked breakfast laid out to self serve.
Hotel is situated in the centre of Abingdon, which is really convenient and buses into Oxford were easy to get. Tap on using your bank card.
Christmas tree was lovely in the foyer :-)
We will 100% stay again.
We really enjoyed our stay here, nothing negative to say from us.

We liked the location and the history of the building and the site. We were attending a performance at the Unicorn Theatre which is also in the Abbey Grounds so was adjacent. We decided to lunch at the hotel and did so: very pleasant and not expensive: we were the only ones in the dining room. The views over the garden to the River Thames were pleasant: as was watching the squirrels playing.
We had invited our son and granddaughter to have breakfast with us: the food was adequate but cold: so was the water for the coffee and tea.

Absolutely picturesque location
With the Thames as the back drop
Unfortunately we didn't have time to explore further as we were only there for one night and had to catch the train next day.
Whole ambience was lovely. With a stream on the front of the property as well.
Spacious rooms.
Front desk staff was very helpful. Advised us of the local restaurants.
Breakfast staff was also helpful when we asked if it was ok to heat up the milk they didn't hesitate at all.
Good parking spaces.
Slightly pricey but was worth it.
No other issues.

The location was great, very near to town, walking distance. The grounds are stunning. Staff were great friendly and wanting to help.
The room we were in was not great, very small double bed, no view from the window as its frosted 3/4 of the way up and the furniture was a little dated. Couldn't plug the kettle in on the desk, had to have either on the floor or bedside table where the plugs were located. The toilet and shower looked good, but toilet seat was loose and show pressure low, but worked.

Loved the hotel, the grounds, and the breakfast
The room was really hot, it had a pedestal fan, but it was quite noisy, even on the low setting.
The shower was rather cramped, and the door would not stay shut.
These were minor annoyances, and did not spoil our stay and did not flag these whilst there, as we were only there 1 night.

Very friendly and helpful staff. Happy to provide an early Continental breakfast box for those of us running the Abingdon Marathon. Beautiful house and grounds and very comfortable room with a super large bed.

Good breakfast & location.
1. Parking was tricky so the website should let people know that there’s a carpark just nearby. 2. Receiving 10 emails between booking & arrival was excessive & unnecessary.

The situation of the hotel and rooms were very picturesque. Our room had an amazing view overlooking the river. Very clean and modern room with a comfy bed and lovely bathroom.
Plug socket on both sides of the bed was needed.
Had to checkout early before breakfast and was offered a takeaway breakfast which was very poor. There was no bottle of water, no spoon to eat the yogurt, 2 tiny slices of bread with a jam and marmalade portion, no butter and no knife to spread the jam. Also the restaurant was closed as a function was on and had to go elsewhere for an evening meal.

Great location and very clean.
Staff were unwelcoming, tiny room with nowhere to hang towel, no temperature control, couldn’t fully close curtains and breakfast was average (vegan options poor). Not good value for money.

The location was excellent and our room was very clean.
The staff were not particularly friendly or helpful.
The room was functional. It was like staying at an educational centre rather than a hotel.

I was in Room 11, a single room
1. The staff members I met went out of their way to be helpful. Very professional and friendly.
2. Breakfast was delicious. On my first morning I had the fluffiest omelette I have ever tasted... beautiful
3. Great location for Thames Path Walkers and to get to and from the town centre.
4. The gardens were beautiful
5. My single room and bathroom were more spacious than I had expected.
6. Very oldy worldly feel as I ascended the red carpeted grand staircase.
1. I slept really poorly on my first night. I was awoken at about midnight and sleep was very fragmented after this. I could hear staff from the kitchen, bins being closed, internal noise like trollies being wheeled; hurried foot steps, sudden knocks and bangs - not sure if this was staff prepping for the next day?! All of this despite having my white noise machine at full volume. The next day I bought some ear plus from Boots and had a much better 2nd night.
2. Room 11 needs secondary glazing to drown out the work noises from the kitchen. I could hear every word of telephone conversations and general staff chit chat. Bin lids being closed. I'm not blaming the staff - but secondary glazing should be considered!
3. The room felt like student digs - very sparse. A cushion would be a nice addition.
4. The view from the window was of air ducts; the door to the kitchen and bins. If you can, request another room!

Very close to town centre, on the river, parking and pleasant grounds. Breakfast was ok.
Nothing really. Rooms felt a bit like a conference hotel but were modern, comfortable and clean.

Beautiful location and very peaceful. The hotel is located right on the Thames river and the Abbey Meadows and Town centre is a very short walk away. The room was very clean and the bed was super comfortable. Breakfast was great too. Will definitely be visiting again.
Unfortunately, not much on site parking available.

Location for the centre of town was fabulous. Walking distance from all the points of interest. Hotel overlooking the Thames from the garden which we used everyday as it was beautiful weather for our stay. Hotel never seemed too busy and we always got somewhere to sit outside to have a drink. Staff were lovely and went out of their way to help. Love the building as it is listed and very characterful. Breakfast was of very good quality and varied but would suggest better ways to keep it hot as I found it was warm.
There was nothing i disliked however I had booked 2 rooms and the twin was for my mum who is 88 and suffers with sight loss and her friend who is 80 and they were given a room with a bathroom which was up 2 steps and then down a small walkway to another 3 steps down into the bathroom. The shower was also over the bath. This wasn't the best room for them but they managed. I am aware the hotel doesn't have a lot of twin rooms and the hotel was fully booked so i was unable to change it. If you have mobility issues then this maybe an issue for some.

Beautiful location. Easy walk into town where there were plenty of nice places to eat.
Lovely breakfast with a view.
Room was clean and comfortable but was very disappointed with the view. We had room 7 which has opaqued windows so you can’t see out but when we opened the window we could see why, just had a bee of the roof and generators.
The double room I chose on booking.com had a lovely view so not sure what happened there? We were only staying one night so it was ok but would have mentioned it if staying longer.
We would however stay here again and I would make sure we don’t get room 7.

Room - comfortable; Bathroom - spotless; Breakfast - excellent. Staff - friendly and helpful. Gardens - down to the River Thames. The hotel is situated in a quiet location but just a stroll away from the town itself. And of course Oxford is only a bus ride away.
Nothing.
