Comfortable room, warm and cozy. Very good shower and lovely complimentary biscuits. Close to the city center.
Kind of small but still ok.

Location a bit far from the center, but resonable. Clean room and friendly staff
The room was a bit cold, bad insulation. We were on the third floor and there was no elevator and nobody helped us with our bags

Friendly staff, clean room and bathroom.
Stairs were narrow making it harder to carry large heavy suitcase up.

Great location with parking , walkable to the city , propert was clean and comfortable
Couple of cobwebs , tv could be a little bigger but that’s being picky

No breakfast although they said there is a continental breakfast. They said that they were overbooked. I was told that my room was the second floor but actually the third floor. Hard to move luggage to the room since the stairs are narrow. No water. The room heating is not enough. Very cold.

Checked in very quickly, no messing round, I literally only used the place to get my head down for the night but clean and comfortable, walked into the City center in about 10 minutes, very easy to find on the main road and on busses passing constantly on my walk to town
All good

A hotel that exceeded expectations compared to other hotels in England. Clean, cozy and not as old-fashioned as you usually find in England for cheap money.

Very clean, room was comfortable and warm. Excellent WiFi, staff really friendly and helpful. Location is great (I cycled to the centre of town in around three minutes).
Walls quite thin - bring earplugs! Towels need replacing as mine were frayed at the edges. Shower room needs an extractor fan fitted.

Staff provided very clear, precise, professional instructions about our stay, always at the right time. Room is not big but very well equipped, Parking is a plus. Good location- close to city center with easy access from highway.
There was no heating in the bathroom.

Nothing, except the beverages and biscuits provided in the room.
I was expecting lift to 3rd floor as my 84 years old father was traveling with me. I have to carry up the big luggage. The air conditioning was also not working and no circulation of air in the room. Was quite a disappointment.

The room was very clean and warm. We really liked the location and our son was pleased with the playground being so close. We travelled by bus into town and found it very convenient to have a bus stop this close to the hotel.
The bathroom was a little bit outdated. The door was very creaky so that we all woke up whenever one of us got up to use the bathroom. There could be more hooks for towels. Also, our little one had an accident in the night (we used our own night pads under the sheets to prevent wetness going beyond the sheets) and put the wet sheets on the ground for the housekeeper to take away, which they did. But they didn't replace the sheets on the bed. We had to ask for them and make the single bed ourselves.

Bernie was delightful and very helpful. Plenty of parking and the room was ideal for what we needed
Not much. There was a little noise from the hall when people were going to and from their rooms, but everyone was respectful. It would've been handy to have access from the car park, but certainly not a deal breaker

The location of the Guest House was perfect for us. After parking our car in the car park behind the house (and registering it at reception) we did everything by foot.
The room was outfitted well with a clean bathroom and tea/coffee making facilities (topped up every day).
Pictures are as we found the room.
Can't say anything about breakfast as we didn't book one.
Not a real downside, but good to know:
The Guest House consists of three different houses which are not connected. Reception is at No 108. As our room was in No 106, we pulled our luggage up to reception first to carry it back down again and then up next door. I recommend to leave the luggage in the car until you know which house you are in... No lift in the houses,so pack light!
Pressure in the shower was quite low through the boiler. Wouldn't have wanted to wash my hair, it would have taken a lot of time to get my long hair wet and then rinsed out again.

It’s location. It was clean .
The shower was cold . 6out of 10 plug sockets didn’t work and the telly didn’t work.

I don't like to spend a lot for a room when I am traveling alone. I'm just going to sleep there anyway. This room was perfectly adequate. It was clean and comfortable. It would be small -- probably too small if you were traveling with another person. They offer breakfast but I didn't pay for it. The staffers were pleasant and helpful.
It was quite a long walk from central Oxford -- about 20-25 minutes. There isn't very much in the immediate area, just a couple of pubs.

It was fine for the price relative to other options in Oxford.
A bit far from center with inconvenient bus service etc so we had to walk and challenging with baggage.

Great place to stay while in Oxford for a workshop at the university. Centrally located, friendly staff, and clean and comfortable rooms!

Close to the city centre
Toilet was blocked was hard to flush, would have to do it multiple times. The shower pressure was terrible took nearly 30/40mins to have a basic body wash.

The staff was extremely friendly and helpful at all times. The location was only a mile away from the city center. There was a fan that was provided.
The beds were very hard. The traffic on Abingdon road was very loud at times. It wasn't bad when the windows were shut, but on the other hand, the room got quite warm when the windows were shut. The shower stall was quite small. It measured about 20 in by 30 in. It was a tight fit for me at 7 feet tall and 260 pounds.

it was the cheapest available in an expensive city
too many stairs and no help at all from staff. No direct access to parking lot: you had to go all the way around on the street before facing the steps.

To say it in the words of my teenage son, ‘The neighbourhood is not the best’ and you walk quite a while before you see the city centre.(15-20’).
The room as such was ok, although you could loose orientation in these very strange stairs/ fire doors constellation. The main street in front of the house was just too loud and the ventilation did not help much. You could choose, whether to be woken up by traffic noise or heat. The night was rather uncomfortable.
Bernie, the host, greeted us in small words, when we came and was not available for questions about Oxford nor checking out. He was too busy serving 4 persons (!!!) breakfast, when we checked out. He seemed very stressed.
The best parts of the stay were the shower giving up in the middle of washing my hair- no pressure any longer. I waited a couple of minutes and then a few drops released my hair from the shampoo and the very stern answer to our question, to leave the car til 2 pm, instead of noon: nah, nah. We should take the park’n ride for 3£ / a person a ride and spend another 24£ (party of four) on nothing so Bernie had his parking lot cleared by 12, when check-in time is 4pm.
Darlings, do yourself a favour and do not book this facility. You might find some sleep and decrease the stress level of Bernie.
Too loud
Insufficient shower
Inflexibility, unfriendly and stressed staff

The guest house is in a perfect location. Just a five min walk into town and Christ church. Shops and restaurants close by. Good sized car park. Clean and comfortable and super comfortable bed.
Steep steps upto the property would make it tricky for people with disabilities
8.0 / 10.0
Comfortable bed, clean, price. Tea and coffee available in bedroom.
Distance to the tourist area. But that is the reason the price is not so expensive as others accommodations.

The location was very nice, just 10 - 15 mins walk from the lively town centre. The check-in was straightforward.
We booked a room with a double-bed and it really was small considering it was supposed to be for two adults. I regretted not getting a twin bed room because the doble-bed really felt small comparing to what I experienced in other hotels in the UK. We are average size so if you are on the heavier side, choose the twin bed option. The TV was tiny. I am the most sceptical about their cleanliness claims that they are maintaining since COVID - they did not hoover the week we were staying in the room, not even between the suitcases that we had to leave inconveniently around because where else. I saw random stuff on the floor and there was dust on the bedside table and in the nooks and corners of the room.
In general, it was an ok stay budget-wise but I would spend more in the future to stay in a bigger room.

The property was clean and in a decent area. A fair walk to the city center. We were able to claim a parking space.
The second morning I carried hot coffees for two blocks and dropped on myself while trying to manage the front door. I went upstairs to quickly change and give my wife the survivor. I came back down to find the desk clerk so that I may clean up my spill. After hitting the buzzer on the front door, waiting a time and buzzing again and waiting I resolved to deal with it when I returned with my own coffee. Upon my return, I saw the clerk helping someone check in. The first words out of my mouth were to apologize for the spill on the porch. His were to rebuke me in front of his new guests. Rather than escalate matters I left it there, but I was not at all happy about the rude treatment I received from this man just because he had to mop up a little coffee from the tile. Extremely unpleasant and unprofessional behavior.

It's a relatively short walk from the centre of Oxford. The shower was good, enough space and hot water. The rooms are cleaned well.
Be careful when booking, I thought I was getting a sweet attic room away from everyone (pictures and information about there being no lift) but I got a ground floor box room with net curtains hiding the view of the bins. If I had known I was getting this room, I wouldn't have booked it; I would have paid £10-£20 more for a better hotel.
