Quiet well equipped room in annex. If I was staying more than one night would have been ideal. Well equipped kitchen and a washing machine.
Shower somewhat cramped and nowhere to place soap. Bar mainly for locals and breakfast self catering with cocco pops and Tesco nibbles.

As we had a car it was an ok location as Slane was only a few km away and despite being close to the pub next door, we weren’t really bothered by the noise that much.
Hard to work out how to get the keys as they say to go to the bar next door but it doesn’t open til 5pm and no one was about. Luckily we tried the door of the guesthouse which was unlocked (and stayed unlocked for our whole stay) and keys are left on a very dusty entry table. Also a very over loaded and unsafe extension cord at the entry. That’s a first hazard waiting to happen. Walked up the stairs that needed a good vacuum to our room which also didn’t appear to be vacuumed that well. Floors creak like no one’s business and whoever put the flooring in needs their eyes testing. Bathroom light was dim and the light over the sink didn’t work. The toilet roll holder was also hanging off the wall. Our room was over looking the main road which is a loose tarmac road so can be quite noisy if you aren’t used to it. Pillows in the room were like pancakes and the bedding was a bit worn and don’t get me started on the dust behind the bed. Also no mattress protector. And the blinds are bust with the curtains only 1/2 connected to the windows. The dining room is big but the tables are all marked and from pictures I saw online, the dining room looked better before it was ‘refurbed’. A limited selection for breakfast so make sure you bring your own stuff. WiFi was useless. Couldn’t get a signal the whole time we were there but the 5G is good if you want to use up all your data. Cleaners were on site for a couple of days but it’s hard to see what they actually cleaned apart from making up the beds. Both of them were sitting on the upstairs hallway on their phones when we were there. Downstairs loo also didn’t get cleaned when we’re there although the loo roll did get replaced. Every night we were heard weird noises coming from the attic. Another guest even mentioned it to us as he’d heard it too. On the last night we heard it on the landing and assume there is a boiler or something in the locked cupboard but it was making noises all night.

I couldn't get in the first night. Another Guest had locked the front door and there was no other way in.
