Great breakfast en super friendly staff. Hotel has cosy pub too.
Normally the pub also hosts for dinner. Unfortunately that wasn't possible that evening. But we were advised a nice alternative.

I travelled for 8 and a half hours then when I arrived the lady owner told me the hotel was closed. She was very rude when I said that was unacceptable and closed the door on me. i opened the door to ask which direction I should travel to find another hotel and she would not tell me. It was late and dark.
I would avoid this hotel at all costs. I had to travel another 30 minutes and finally found another hotel.

I was upgraded to a room with an ensuite bathroom, the bed was big and comfy. All the rates included a continental breakfast and it wasn't just a sorry piece of bread and butter, instead, we got a large selection of cut meats, cheese, cake, fresh fruit and even freshly boiled eggs and fresh bread and hot drinks to go with juices. There was also home made jam.

Lovely friendly helpful staff. Beautiful cosy bar with delicious food. Exactly what a country pub / hotel should be. Really enjoyed our stay here.

I had a double room (RM 3) which was large and had a bathtub. It was at the end of the hotel furthest from the bar which was great as it was very quiet.
The pub is in a great location for the Rob Roy Way and is close to the bus stop.
Bar was friendly and full of locals in the evening.
Breakfast was only continental but was more than enough for me.
Would happily stay here again.
There wasn't anything I didn't like.

Staff were so friendly and helpful. Rooms were perfect for our post walk recovery and sleep. They were very accommodating, giving us a very early breakfast before our charity hike.
A bit of traffic noise due to our room being on the roadside.

Staff very friendly and accommodating and plentiful continental breakfast on offer. Room clean and bright. Large bath towels.
Rooms facing road quite noisy due to traffic. Property internet was down (not their fault) and mobile reception is limited.

Breakfast area was well laid out clean and well presented.
The help yourself continental breakfast had ample choice of fresh quality produce.
The full scottish breakfast was cooked to perfection and set us up for the day ahead.
Only thing we didn't like was the fact we couldn't stay longer.

Despite being very short staffed, the manager worked hard to accommodate us with a very good evening meal.
The housekeeping staff was also excellent in converting the double bed to twins on request.
Lack of communication prior to our stay re food and room layout .... all addressed on arrival.

Brilliant stay, and the continental breakfast was plentiful. Staff were brilliant and friendly.
Pillows could be fuller, but managed with bumping them up with cushions from room.

The staff were extremely helpful, the owner was excellent, nothing was too much trouble. The food took a while to appear but when it did it was very good. All in all a very pleasant experience..
We booked this location specifically because we had our dog with us. Unfortunately, the Inn had changed hands in the period between booking and arrival. They now operate a no dogs policy. The new owner was very understanding and allowed us to stay with our dog, which was very helpful.

The bedrooms are freshly painted and bright and clean. The windows open (unlike a modern hotel). Not much storage space in my room, nowhere to hang anything. The continental breakfast could not have offered less choice, very basic. Nice coffee though. As they had appeared to struggle with dinner the previous night we didn’t risk a cooked breakfast.
The hotel is right on a main road, it’s all a little scruffy and down at heal.
The menu is as basic as could be. I am guessing they were without a chef during our stay so struggling. The pub is dominated by a giant tv.

staff at the Barr were nice. place was clean.
booked a superior room. had a debate with Lorna the proprietor due with booking site wasnt our problem as had confirmation as proof on my phone. moved into the room wee booked the shower very poor. no tv working, was nice of her to offer as a free drink due to this, the place is under staffed. continental breakfast small variety. listening to Loud football on tv having breakfast at 9 am wasn't our thing. nice location but very close to the road. OK for a stop over.

Our booking was made on the understanding that our dog could stay in our room, however the current owner made it very clear that we were unwelcome guests from the outset. So unpleasant was this experience that we chose to leave after one night, even though we’d paid for two.

The egg, which the ghost left for us.

From the very lovely rooms and comfy bed, the warm and inviting pub atmosphere, the wonderful breakfast (£15 but worth it), the staff being really great… and the dedicated parking lot that made everything extra easy, this inn is a wonderful place to rest your head.
But above all one of the innkeepers gave me a very personal suggestion at breakfast of where to head that day, a very special place she shared that had spread her own mothers ashes… needless to say it was truly the most magnificent day because of her spending the time and personal story to suggest something to me, and I am forever grateful to her for her beautiful kindness!!

The location is perfect, such a lovely little village. The room was spotless, the bed was super comfy. The staff are so very welcoming. We spent a few hours in the Inn having wonderful food, breakfast was superb, made to order, you can tell the best of ingredients are used. It was a lovely atmosphere, sat beside the fire, so chilled. We would definitely recommend a stay here and we would absolutely come back again.
The only down side is we have to leave.

Meals very good and nicely served by the owner.
Hotel situated along rather busy road, even at night, so rooms on back side should be preferred if available.
Room #2 on road side was also very small with small and uncomfortable bed for 2 people. Bathroom had rather obsolete electric heater for the bath/shower and no hot water for the basin.

The property is very old and quaint and has loads of character . Excellent if you want to take the dogs. Very dog friendly.
Nothing really as we were only using the hotel as a base. N
