Le Quatre

This was a quirky little attic apartment with a mezzanine layout on the 4th floor of a very centrally located building. The owners were really lovely and hospitable. There was a view of bell towers from the bedroom area and you could hear the bells of an evening, which gave the place an enchanting vibe. There was a boulangerie round the corner so the smell of baked goods wafted up in the mornings, which was very enticing. The host brought up a breakfast on a tray every morning, which was a welcome touch. The jug of coffee was particularly appreciated! For charm and Breton quirkiness, 10 out of 10.

For a middle aged woman like myself, the prospect of clambering down a ladder to get to the toilet in the middle of the night was a little anxiety- provoking. However it was also a bit fun and I was delighted that I managed to master it. I wouldn't recommend the property for those with mobility issues or who prefer a more conventional layout.

Charming, lovely. Bakery downstairs gives off beautify aromas at dawn while the birds sing for the morning. Loic is very welcoming and informative. Phenomenal croissant and butter. Much better tea than one might hope.

Location. Almost next to Rennes cathedral. The owner was friendly and the simple breakfast was good.

No idea. Maybe just a bit noisy at the pub across the street.
