Hidden gem not far from Ubud center

The Villa was beautiful and comfortable. Lovely space, bed & not too far from the center.

A wonderful hotel in a fabulous location!

The location was amazing, so close to everything in town! I really loved the room I was staying in and the pool was glorious. The staff were also super helpful and accommodating.

The perfect place in the heart of Ubud

Great location! Within walking distance to the main areas of Ubud yet incredibly peaceful! Staff excellent as other reviews have said. Pool was lovely and a great size for the size of the hotel. Everything in the room that you could need, and more such as toothbrush’s combs etc. Breakfast was nice too!

A slight musty smell within the rooms, maybe from the bathroom due to poor ventilation.

I will defiantly come back!

The rooms are beautifully furnished and it is always pleasantly quiet and cool. Even the pool offers a pleasant way to cool off despite the heat.

As in many other accommodations, the towels here smelled bad, and attempts were made to cover this up with fabric softener – however, it would be much more important to simply always wash the towels at a minimum of 90 degrees and then dry them in the drying machine.

Paradise found in Ubud

Very special hotel in the heart of Ubud, with lovely staff from start to finish , they all made sure my stay was the best. Love the authentic statues and dreamy pool. Breakfast was fab with a nice fruit selection and poached eggs. Room always cleaned (after asking me) during me having breakfast which was a nice touch

The gardens and pool area are stunning. Breakfast was exceptional. American or continental, made to order with love. Best breakfast we have had in Bali in a long time. Fresh & delicious. A true gem in the heart of Ubud rice fields . The staff were lovely .

The room and view were good.

1. Location, which is inside lanes, making it impossible for cars to reach there. 2. I was on second floor and there is no lift/elevator in the hotel. 3. No intercom service, so even for smallest of the requirements, one has to come down and climb two floors. 4. Breakfast was having very few items. Also, the quantity was restricted.

Do not hesitate to book here!

I instantly felt calm here - from the gorgeous, sparkling pool, to the view of the rice paddies and occasional glimpse of the mountains from our balcony - it was perfect. The lovely staff looked after my son and I beautifully. The bed was comfortable, aircon cool (and quiet) and curtains made the room dark - a rarity in hotels! We were in room 10 on the 3rd floor and felt very private and secluded, but only a brief walk to the pool and breakfast area. The Runick is on a narrow alleyway that connects in several directions so you can walk to anywhere you need to go in central Ubud. I got breakfast included, but there are so many cheap and excellent cafes nearby, you might want to opt for more variety and head out in the morning. I miss the Runick already!

Perfect stay in Ubud

- we took 2 rooms as we were roadtrip with the family in Bali and this hotel has a perfect location to walk to Ubud palace, temples for night show, local market - very calm with a view to small city rice field - a very nice local restaurant is in the same little road - staff is excellent and helping. They prepare most delicious banana pancakes my kids loved so much - the pool is large, the garden is relaxing… after our visits we want to chill - you can see beautiful sunset from the 2nd floor balcony room - they have a great laundry service at the corner !! Very convenient

You have to come to the pool “early” around 3 pm to have it in the sun … the shadow comes quick The car can’t drop you off in from of the hotel. But can drop you off a road perpendicular to Main Street - it is 3-5 min walking

Peaceful and lush location in walking distance of downtown!

The grounds and the rooms of the Runik are just beautiful. The pool/bar/restaurant area is lush and tropical and the room has Bali vibes with modern conveniences. The bed and pillows were super comfortable and the patio was the perfect place for a morning coffee (and the bamboo drying rack on the patio came in very handy!) I found the location to be perfect. Walking/scooter accessible only, so off the beaten the path and away from the craziness of downtown Ubud. When at the Runik, it's quiet and peaceful and feels like you're in the countryside, but it's only a quick scooter ride or short walk to the main road...sites, restaurants, etc. The staff were incredibly warm and helpful and went out of their way to ensure my luggage was taken care of (I left early for an excursion on the day of my check out and was not returning until late that evening to pick it up). As a solo female traveler, I left very comfortable and safe staying here.

Get what you pay for.

Runik is reflective of what you pay for. A tranquil space in the middle of chaos with nice pool area. The rooms are a decent size & shower had great water pressure. Pancakes were nice. I think our expectations were perhaps a little high after staying in some other stunning accommodation. Great having a laundromat of your doorstep.

Unfortunately there is no ‘street appeal’ the lane down the side of the laundromat is the first impression and set the tone. A bit underwhelmed. You need to negotiate with the manager to get a fair price on the driver got the day. The bathrooms smell… I wouldn’t say musty, more like cat pee. If you keep the bathroom door open it’s not as noticeable.

Location was amazing - striking distance to central Ubud, lots of great restaurants and cafes right nearby, and peaceful setting despite a busy Ubud. Pool was stunning with lots of beautiful colours in the garden. The staff were exceptionally friendly and always on hand to help.

The hotel was stunning but slightly expensive. The room smelled slightly of damp, however, there was considerable rain throughout our stay which will have affected this.

Beautiful room with good view

Location was good but we needed to walk quite a long way in to the hotel through a small walking lane. Room was fantastic and bathroom huge!

Maybe just our luck, our room had a “dead rat” smell and they couldn’t arrange another room for us. We had to sleep with balcony doors open and without air condition due to smell. But they were apologetic and gave some refund.

Had a 3am departure to airport arranged with hotel, got a call in the room at 2:40 asking if we were ready - no, but will be at 3. Then staff was singing loudly in the hallway outside of our room... fine for us, but very inconsiderate of other guests!
