Location was excellent
Difficulty getting key code information as hosts were on holiday and took 2 hours to pick up messages/calls due to poor internet where they were. They knew when I was arriving and could have messaged me the information earlier in the day.

Cute, cosy cottage with everything you need. It's well located for travelling around the Lakes and away from the hustle and bustle of Windimere. Everything was clean, tidy and comfortable.
Had some issues with some of the TV channels cutting out during heavy winds but that's super minor! I can't really think of anything else.

It felt like home - very cosy, clean and just such a nice little cottage to come back to after a day of walking or exploring the Lake District.

A lovely, cosy cottage with a large, comfortable bedroom and bathroom downstairs, then stairs up to a compact but well-designed kitchen and living room. The location was excellent for visiting the South Lake District - in a quiet hamlet with a very good pub (good food, real ales - it has its own microbrewery) but close to main road to Windermere. Nearby services (walking distance) for newspapers, essential groceries and Pret A Manger. The cottage and pub are dog friendly, though we didn’t need it this time. The cottage was spotlessly clean and we particularly appreciated the large, comfortable bedroom, good quality bed linen and towels. The property owners live next door and made us very welcome. Would definitely visit again.

Perfect cute cottage for getaway at The Lakes. Everything was as perfect as expected after having had read all the wonderful reviews. We felt at home, the location is superb, close to the major attractions but far enough away from tourist noise, it was lovely to have morning coffee in at the tiny entrance garden. Tipp: You can get fresh croissants walking 1 min to gas station. We met Paul & Linda casually who are both lovely hosts. Would definitely stay again.
Nothing to dislike. All was perfect.

Quiet wee village, perfectly located to explore the lake district. All amenities at hand!
Quirky accomodation, with an extensive history, the upside down living made the most of the view out over the babbling brook, with the ducks swimming up and down.
Having to leave 😔

We have just stayed at Burnthwaite, it was perfect from start to finish! the property is immaculate with everything there that you need! the bath is perfect after a long walk and has a washer/dryer to wash your muddy clothes! we loved it that much we asked to stay again the following week! we have a dog and the walks around the area were breathtaking for the pooch enjoying the lakes and streams! Linda and Paul were there at the end of the phone if we needed anything at all. we would go back in a heartbeat!

beautiful location, parking, spotless, all the facilities you needed including extras like tea, coffee etc oh and lovely biscuits. massive bathroom, property was a great size and so cosy but elegant at the same time. authentic country feel. comfortable bed, great linen and a nice big bath. lovely and warm, nice carpets and black out curtains. we cooked in the property and the facilities were all there, even a lovely little dining room to have your food. I couldn’t of imagined it would be so lovely for the price. the owners were so accommodating, allowing for a late check out and letting us have 3 little chiuahahs at the property, we can’t thank them enough.

My husband and I loved this cottage. My favorite place was the front window nook. I enjoyed reading or watching the birds, sheep or the ducks in the stream. It was a great size for the two of us. Everything we needed. Met Paul briefly and had a lovely chat.
We were close by to all the towns.
It was such a relaxing trip for us and would highly recommend staying here.

Excellently located cottage just a couple of minutes drive from Lake Windemere. The hosts were lovely and very communicative, check-in was very easy. Upon arriving we loved the small touches prepared throughout the property. The cottage had everything we needed for a week away to explore the Lake District; kitchen fully equipped (pub 10 seconds away if you dont fancy cooking). Parking at rear of cottage.

The cottage was so perfect, with every detail of the place carefully thought out. Despite being near a main road, it was so serene and quiet. The window seats were my personal favourite, great reading spots.
Since we don't own a car, we had to either hike from Windermere (fine in nice weather!) or get the bus-the bus tickets were more expensive than anticipated, though it was worth it due to the quality of the accommodation!

Lovely 3 night stay in a comfortable, well equipped cottage. Ings is a lovely location with walks from the doorstep.
We were hit by Storm Arwen although the cottage is that sturdy we didn't realise how bad it had been until the next day.

Clean, comfy bed, good kitchen, nice kettle, WiFi, good TV..
Only niggle was the bath takes a long time to fill. Good shower though.

Comfortable and convenient location. Great hosts.
Kitchen facilities a little limited and hob did not work properly i.e. using both rings meant it would frequently shut off presumably due to overloading power supply, though no tripping of fuses. Also, not possible to read settings properly. Suggest a new hob is needed.

Beautiful little cottage in an excellent location. The owners live next door and were extremely welcoming. There were biscuits, tea coffee and milk waiting for us and even a bottle of bubbly on the dining table. Really comfortable bed.
Such a peaceful place, total relaxation.
Cannot think of anything we didn’t like.
