Great location - very quiet and peaceful, beautiful scenery close by with easily accessible walks. Children's play area just down the road. Beatrix Potter's house practically opposite. A short drive to other beautiful places to explore. We'd recommend The Queen's Head pub in Hawkeshead for a meal.
Characterful house, warm and cosy, ample seating in living room. Good size bedrooms and bathrooms. Always pleased to have a washing machine available. Lots of books and games in dining room.
Garden was smaller than expected from photos. Not a minus point, just information for others. Gates to parking quite tight, again, just info rather than a negative. My car is wider than average and still fitted with careful manoeuvring.
Some of the info supplied needs updating, e.g. rubbish and recycling system. Also, the instructions to escape in event of a fire refer to climbing out of landing window onto a first floor roof, but that window is locked and we couldn't find a key.
There was also a bit of a slug issue (we had a lot of rain whilst there so perhaps not always the case). We had to put salt along the right hand side of the kitchen worktop to stop them crawling over the worktop during the night.
The double mattress in the smaller double room has broken springs on the left side (as you look from foot of bed).

The cottage was lovely and warm when we arrived for our 4 nights in November. The heating was easy to control. Log burner was cozy to use in the evening. Kitchen was well equipped. We only used one bed which was so comfortable. The sofa was comfortable and soon warmed up being leather - no complaints at all. Cottage in a great location for access to Hawkshead, Ambleside and Windermere. Lovely pub a stones throw over the road. Car park nearby for additional cars.
We only used the shower downstairs, I felt this could have been a little more powerful, but did not cause any issues.

Leuk huisje, netjes en vrij schoon. Jammer dat niet in alle slaapkamers de ramen open kunnen. Huis heeft wat onderhoud nodig
