Note Bene Rooms

Location was handy being near the Buza Gate entry for coming and going with luggage. (not too many stairs) Had a great restaurant right next door which we ate at twice .. food was excellent. Dado was a great host that would always respond quickly and helpfully when contacted. Great having a terrace more or less outside bedroom (outside space to hang up washing and sit at to relax.) Note Bene also has a shop near the Ethnographic Museum that offers coffee and local home made products like fig jam, herbs and spices etc. Right at that location there is a lovely garden bar great to sit relax and have a drink.

Dado is very friendly and kind. Location is amazing, near to a gate and easy to find.

The bathroom is outside the room.

If you are touring by bicycle, finding accessible accommodation in Dubrovnik's stair-heavy Old Town is a major logistical challenge. Note Bene Rooms is the perfect solution. We specifically booked this place for its easier access, and it exceeded expectations. The room itself was clean, comfortable, and exactly what we needed. The route along the upper path involves only small sections of stairs equipped with multiple cargo ramps, making it incredibly easy to roll loaded bikes right up to the property. The true standout, however, is the hospitality. The owner met us directly at the Buža Gate to guide us to the rooms. Once there, we had access to a locked courtyard for secure bike storage. The host's generosity went above and beyond. We bumped into a fellow cyclist from our ferry crossing who was facing the near-impossible task of hauling his loaded bike down the steep, endless stairs to his own accommodation deep in the old town. Seeing he was in a bind, our host generously offered to let him park his bike in the secure courtyard alongside ours. As a bonus, the husband-and-wife team also runs a local store selling homemade goods. We picked up some delicious treats that were perfect for snacking on while exploring the city and for fueling our subsequent rides. Highly recommended.

The perfect location and wonderful aircon! Hosts were lovely, gave us beach towels and offered us snorkelling gear to borrow! The bbq restaurant next door is a must visit!

There were toiletries which looked like they had been left behind from previous guests in the bathroom, rather than fresh bottles, and there wasn’t an iron in the room, so we had to WhatsApp the owner every time to borrow theirs, not a huge inconvenience but it’s the little things that make such a difference! Room was pretty basic but if you are out sight seeing, that doesn’t really matter!
