Alla Scalinata del Teatro Rossetti
Flat location was fine, in the center.
I communicated with the apartment owner through Booking.com to arrange a time to pick up the keys. She replied that she would be at the apartment at 11:30 a.m. The area around the apartment is extremely difficult to park in. After traveling 600 km from another country, I called her at 11:18 a.m., just to ask whether I could temporarily park on the street near the building without risking a fine. She responded unpleasantly, saying I was disturbing her and that she would be there at 11:30 as agreed. When she arrived, she shouted at me for interrupting her breakfast, saying she left it on the table because of me. She complained about having a private life and being nervous. I tried to reassure her calmly and explain why I called, but she wouldn’t let me speak and kept raising her voice. Eventually, I gave up trying to explain and let her talk. When she brought me the key and ticket to the parking garage, I took them from her, wished her a nice day, and left. She said she owns several apartments and doesn't have time to talk to guests—that her job is to clean, collect money, and hand over the keys. She had promised two parking passes but gave me the second one two days later, when I no longer needed it. She charged €53 in cash for the parking passes and local taxes but provided no receipt. Booking.com listed parking at €6 per day, yet she asked for €10. When I asked why, she tried to snatch the pass from my hand and told me to park wherever I liked if I didn’t like her price. I simply asked a question politely, but she reacted aggressively. The apartment itself is sparsely furnished. One room is very dark, with little natural light. Living spaces are not air-conditioned—only the hallway has AC. In the evening, it was hot inside, and with the windows open, noise from nearby bars and garbage collectors was constant. The furniture is old, some pieces damaged and dirty. The decor feels cheap and garish.

It was an okay stay, huge space in the apartment.
The kitchen is decent, had a lot of kitchen necessities to cook. There were free coffee capsules so we were able to make coffee for the rest of our stay. Huge space in the house, we got to have beds for all 5 of us. They provided us a secure parking but a bit far off - but okay, we appreciate that our car was safe.
The floors wasn’t very clean and made our socks very dirty. There was a lot of street noise from a bar nearby which seemed very popular. And on the building there is a few slots of parking and a pair of stair entrance that people young and mid age people hang out at - smoking joints, drinking alcohol, talking and laughing loudly, screaming all night. They are so loud, even with closed windows. They left at 2:50am on Friday night and we were only able to really sleep by then. Luckily the following nights, it was so windy and cold, there were only a few people and didn’t stay all night. I guess it’s not the owners fault on these street noises - as it is the collective behaviour on this city/area.

Nice clean apartment; great location.
As we specifically were in Trieste to attend an event at Teatro Rossetti, the location was excellent; about a block away. The apartment is spacious, nicely decorated, and very clean. Lovely modern kitchen with stove, microwave, and dishwasher. The split air conditioner worked very well, which was a blessing.
Nothing was said in the description about your having to walk up about 25 stairs to the entrance of the building—the taxi cannot take you to the building entrance—and there is no elevator in the building. Those with any mobility issues or not young/fit with lots of luggage would most likely find it impossible to access the property. These are minor details, but it would be nice if they were attended to. The front door to the building does not lock, so anyone can enter at any time. The Moki has no handle, the hand towel holder in the toilet room is broken, only two Nespresso pods provided for two people staying two nights.

Not a 4 star apartment as it's rated.
Location was perfect for us because we were going to the Rossetti Theatre. This apartment is located right behind it. Location is also quite central for tourists in general. We booked the parking but then ended up parking somewhere else because their own space seemed to be difficult to reach and we had 2 cars to park; however, the host was kind enough not to charge us in any case (even though we offered, as they said they could have rented it to someone else).
Communication with the host wasn't very straightforward. The apartment looks bigger in the pictures, and it's definitely not a 4-star accommodation! There was no heating, only a heat pump in the corridor; luckily for us this wasn't the typical Trieste winter so we were fine, but this heat pump will definitely not be enough to warm up the whole apartment (it's a single heat pump positioned in the corridor for the entire apartment apartment). The bathroom is one, not one and a half or 2. Like in many old houses in Trieste, the basin and shower are in one room, and the toilet, a small sink and a bidet in another room. This isn't clear in the description. The bed I slept in was comfortable, but my friends complained about the beds in the two additional rooms. There is no living room if you need 3 bedrooms; the kitchen is very small (even though it seemed quite well equipped). Check out time is indicated to be "the whole day" (or something like that); this needs to be specified and clarified here on booking. It was a generous 12 pm in any case.
