Beautiful stay, very close to town.

Beautiful House! Gorgeous to sit in the guest lounge and absorb the beautiful ceilings and fire places. I know keeping these older buildings is a labour of love & this shows clearly. Spotless motel room, very comfortable. Host is AMAZING lovely lady to chat with about the house and life in general.

We stayed in Unit 2 which has been renovated - beautifully done. It’s a compact two bedroom unit but it had everything we needed and a comfy bed!

Catfished. Nothing like the photos

It was clean. The bed was comfortable

I was expecting to stay in the beautiful house as per the photos. However, “a motel room” is actually one of the ugly old bungalows outside the house. It was a truly dismal affair. Worst place we stayed in New Zealand. No climate control in the bedrooms, just an air conditioner outside the rooms and it didn’t penetrate the bedrooms. It was all so primitive and old. I hated it. We left early morning. No garden - not even a tree to protect you from the sun and provide a bit of privacy. We had to keep the blinds shut for any privacy. You could hear trucks in the road and people talking. The bathroom was unbelievably primitive- something you’d see in a 50s caravan park. No water pressure in the ridiculous shower. No shelves to put your soap or toiletries just the stainless steel floor. The lighting was very poor However what really annoys me is the dishonesty. It should be clearly stated that you will have no access to the beautiful house and the “motel rooms” should be more aptly named

Loved the style of the house. Our room was quiet and kitchen facilities very good.

We were surprised the shower floor hadn’t been shaped by tiler so that the water flowed down the drain. Our floor got very wet which could have been a danger.

We love the old world charm of a beautifully restored heritage home. Our room was massive with two double beds and ensuite. Cooking and dining facilities are available if you want and the owners are always available and happy to help out with whatever else you want.

It not a biggy but no sky sports or tv that we could cast to. Only so we could watch the Kiwi's and All Blacks as both had games during the weekend.

A luxurious stay in beautiful period house.

A beautiful house, we stayed in the Heritage suite which used to be a ballroom. Everything of finest quality and very well set up kitchen. Lovely gardens

We liked everything, If we’re being picky maybe the shower in en suite could have door of some kind instead of curtain.

Great accommodation, location was perfect for us. Beautiful property, well cared for by the friendly management who were happy to show us around and share some of the history of the town/hotel. Would definitely recommend to couples or families.

A beautifully maintained, charming property perfect for our one-night stay with super comfy bed!

We loved the heritage and history of the beautiful grand villa, well maintained and amenities were great. It was warm, cosy and very charming which was great, because there is always a risk with older premises being cold and creepy!

Nothing really, as long as you are aware that in the Villa you might have to share the kitchen, dining and lounge with other guests if you want to spread out. We were the only guest this night, but it wouldnt have bothered us to meet others in the shared spaces.

Great weekend in a great place.

It is a beautiful property. We booked out the house for a family wedding weekend. It suited so well. Lots of space, and the ability to be self contained with a large kitchen, dining, and fabulous outdoor area. The host was so accommodating. Nothing was too much. I would absolutely recommend.

Room had the heaters and heat pump left on for us when we arrived, was lovely to arrive to a nice warm accomodation. Everything was very tidy and in a great location.

A lovely quaint place to stay that was a little different to other motels. Leanne was a lovely host and we felt we had everything we needed. Would highly recommend going to T&S nearby (drive) if looking for gluten free fish and chips.

Location was great 👍 staff were very helpful.unit 2 was renovated very nice.I would stay again.

Rubbish bins needed to be emptied every day since you didn’t have access to there big bins and recycling.As we stayed 4 nights a broom and half broom and shovel would of been good as being winter dirt and leaves would come in.

Perfect place to sleep

Great location. Unit 4. Warm. Full kitchen facilities but no couch, just 2 bedrooms. Perfect for a place to sleep Bathroom ... great size although dated.

Curtains in kitchen need replacing. Outside door in bedroom didnt have s curtain so street lights were shining in st night. Nowhere to relax as a family as no lounge facilities in the unit.

Charming house with a homey feel. Beds were comfortable and bathrooms were well kept. Nice property. Felt like we stayed in middle class Downton Abbey.
