Perfect location for Bergamo.

The I Ghiri is perfectly located 10-12 min walk from Bergamo’s old city (Citta Alta). They have guest parking, so there is no need to drive around. The room was very comfortable, and while bathroom/shower are not en-suite, there was no issue. The hostess Christina is kind and helpful. Prepare for some stairs from the road to the house and indoors. Good breakfast was served with plenty of options. Good value for money.

Perfect stay

We had a perfect stay at B&B I Ghiri. The location is very convenient, with easy parking at the house and also a handy garage near the old town (just through the arch at the first exit from the roundabout). Breakfast was excellent – thank you Ennio! Highly recommended.

Strongly recommeded to visit Bergamo

We stay in this place for one night asa transit and to visit the city and we couldn't be in a better place. Our room was expectaly as expected and we have been welcomed by the owner that has take care of us. We also experience a very nice local restaurant that we have been recommended by the owner. Strongly recommend to stay in this place

Perfect stay close to Bergamo Old Town (about 10 minutes by foot). Big and very clean room in historical old building. Very pleasant hostess. Perfect breakfast - You get everything You may want for breakfast.

If we are ever coming bach to Bergamo, we will choose this place every single time.

Extremely sympathetic and nice owner. She helped us witch everything, told us the best places to eat and to visit. She ever gave us a usefull map (twice actually because we lost our first one :)) Delicious traditional italian breakfast with local cheeses. Bedroom was really clean and the interior was amazing. You could feel it's soul.

Our stay at the BnB was so lovely, we were made to feel welcome and well looked after! We were leaving quite early in the morning and she prepared breakfast for us the night before to make sure we ate before we left. Highly reccomend!

Extremely hospitable with love for detail

To start with our overall impression, we were amazed by the hospitality we were greeted with from the moment we arrived until the minute we left as well as the host's love for detail. - First of all, the communication with the host, Cristina, was extremely fast and friendly. - The room included all the amenities you could wish for and the interior was very tasteful. The "external bathroom" is right next to the room, so I would not be worried about this at all. A small thing that really stood out to us was the number and variety of towels we got; not very common at all :) - When we read about the "exceptional breakfast", we did not really know what to expect, but - after all - it sincerely exceeded everything we could have wished for. Being vegetarian was not an issue at all and we even got to try a few local cheeses which was very interesting! - Parking was super uncomplicated and we were even allowed to leave our car at the house for a few more hours on the day of our departure.

There is not a single thing we did not like about our stay and we will definitely recommend this place to everyone visiting Bergamo!

Great place & host

Our stay was absolutely lovely. Cristina and her family are very sweet and welcoming. The place was clean and well located, few minutes walk from Città alta. The breakfast was delicious and complete. I would recommend B&B I Ghiri to anyone staying in Bergamo!

Beautiful, quiet, cozy historic mansion above town

Beautiful, cozy, quiet late 18-century mansion in a leafy area just outside/above Bergamo's historic upper part, close to Castello San Vigilio, the highest Vista point. 12 minute walk to the main Piazza Vecchia. The owners are super kind and helpful, and the entire experience was very pleasant. We just wish we could've stayed at least three days. Breakfast was excellent and included various options reading from fresh fruit to mozzarella and grape tomatoes. There were sufficient outlets for recharging devices. Nice bathroom and shower.

Charming B&B with the best breakfast and super nice host in a quiet and green area

We had a really nice room, even the whole floor for ourselves with the big kitchen. The beds are super comfortable and the whole atmosphere is very peaceful with lot of greenery. Everything was clean and the old city part is super close. Christina is very kind and she prepared for us an awesome breakfast. We would definitely stay again! Thank you.

A wonderful place in Bergamo

The place is beautiful and has a unique spirit. The host is so kind and helpful, and breakfast was very good. The beds are very convenient, and the little distance to upper Bergamo is super.

Only that the bathroom was in the corridor. We knew it before, and it was ok (the bathroom itself is very nice), but it was a little bit unconvenient. But overall the B&B was so good, so we really want to come again!!

A great night's sleep in beautiful Citta Alta

This was the third hotel/BnB we stayed at during our visit to Italy and it was by far our best experience. The host, Cristina, and her son are welcoming and warm, made sure we had everything we needed, including a tip for a local trattoria that was fun, good value, and well within walking distance. The BnB is spotlessly clean and quiet, our bedroom was big with a very comfortable bed and a window that opens if you like fresh air at night. We had full access to a shared kitchen, also clean and tidy, where the hosts provide a lovely breakfast. In the morning, we could hear a donkey singing up the hill, which was adorable. We had a car and parked directly in front of the villa, safely off the road, at no additional cost. If you are using public transportation, an airport bus stop is nearby. The villa is a beautiful 7- or 8-minute walk from the center of Citta Alta. Once there, you can take a funicular to the lower city if you'd like. I recommend BnB Ghiri wholeheartedly. I still feel guilty that we arrived two hours after our agreed upon arrival time without contacting the host but he was very gracious, sweeping aside my apology. I know that hosts of BnBs have their own lives and don't necessarily have time to sit waiting for latecomers. This was my mistake and I will not repeat it.

Short trip in Bergam

The kindness of the host, the location, the room and the confort of the bed and of course the style of the house. The house is located about 200-300 m from the oldtown in a place surrounded by the nature which make it very quiet and peaceful. We were 2 adults with a 5 years old child. This house has a lot of charm and the high ceiling in the room, the wood floor make it an authentic place in comparison to the very modern hotels you can find. The room and the bathroom were very clean. The host was very kind, gave us many tips to where to go and to eat good local ice cream and food. I would highly recommend this place to anyone who is looking for an authentic place.

Short city break in Bergamo

Cristina is great host, that took care of us from the very beginning. She is so kind and so friendly that you will love her from the very first moment. The guesthouse is located around 600 m from the bus stop, you can easily access it directly from BGY airport. The photos shows exactly how the guesthouse looks like. We were very impressed how comfy the bed was, haven't slept that well for long time 😁 Really recommend, worth it price! 😊

Cosy, clean, friendly place.

Cosy place to stay. We enjoyed a lot! Would have easily stayed fee more days. We liked the location a bit outside the city Center (appr 15 minutes walk). The host family was super nice and friendly. Communication was excellent. Breakfast was good.

The house is by the road, which is not that busy, but Someone can be disturbed by the noice of the cars and motorbikes. They did not bother us and we had a very good sleep.
