I was travelling on a bicycle and appreciated the host providing a secure spot for it overnight. The burger I ordered in the evening was delicious and a very filling meal for a cyclist. The breakfast was excellent and set me up for a further day on the bike.
Can't think of anything. I strongly recommend this inn.

It was such a treat to be the only guests at a pub hotel. We came from London (our annual trip from LA) to see a college friend of mine, and the owners allowed us to have our reunion over a delicious dinner over a six hour period! The breakfast was delicious, and we could choose from a range of traditional British breakfast items! A hidden gem. Thanks so much.

Location was good for getting to the show site, the selection of evening meals
Would have liked a chair in the room to relax on rather than sitting on the bed, but there wasn’t room for a chair

Quiet country location. Very friendly staff. Good, fresh food

It was conveniently placed for our trip. Staff were friendly, welcoming and attentive. The room was very clean. Evening food was lovely and the breakfast was superb. It was very quiet in the room despite it being at the front on the main road.
The bed was too firm and a little uncomfortable, but this is personal preference. Shower enclosure was quite small and the water took a few minutes to heat up.

Went for a wedding at the pheasantry brewery. Good location for the wedding either by car or taxi. Excellent breakfast and the room had everything you need. After a long journey the owner had already booked a table for the evening meal which was excellent. Very friendly staff . Would definitely recommend. Breakfast was superb.

Friendly welcome. Food for dinner and breakfast was good. Rooms were clean, staff friendly & professional.
Nothing to complain about. It is not a city centre glass & aluminium formulaic hotel. Don't expect bells & whistles and enjoy the character of the place.

The evening meal was good quality food with ample portions, the breakfast we chose was basic but again good portions. The service was excellent, the room was clean and tidy and we both managed to get a good nights sleep.

Very pleasant staff, good dinner of honest pub food (but the wine bottle was brought already opened) Pleasant room. It was conveniently close to the location we had been at in Collingham.
The room was set up for one person by mistake when we arrived and that was what its size was really suitable for. But it is an old pub so the room size is difficult to alter. If the double window was closed noise of occasional passing traffic below the window was muffled, but open it was quite loud because they went fast along the long straight road. Breakfast was a bit limited but OK.

Lovely room, comfy bed, hot shower, nice pub, good food, and host Richard was very friendly. Had a 10 minute stroll down to the river Trent, which was beautiful. Newark-on-Trent is a real gem of a town, very much worth a visit and is only a few minutes by car from the pub. Overall, a great stay for the weekend.
The road was noisy but that's not Richard's fault!

we booked 2 rooms, each with a single occupant. Both rooms were very nicely decorated and very good facilities. Next to a main road but not impacted by road noise, however taps in mother's room were loud and in my room, the noise from the kitchen was quite loud from @ 7am on Sunday.
Noise in the morning woke me up and was very loud.
