Nothing over fancy, but will add this hotel to my Lembongan favourites at its lower price point

Worked well for me. My regular hotel in this area could not provide all the nights i needed, so i found this place for just 2 nights. Very cosy & quiet- only 4 rooms. All rooms appear same size and quality with airco, fridge and bed mosquito nets. Small, but adequate and tasty breakfast options. Location perfect, just 25meters up a well nighttime lit laneway from the main road and an easy 5-10 minute stroll to Mushroom Bay. All staff were lovely and friendly, but not always onsite, but answer / attend to WhatsApp immediately.

The main areas are wooden decking which needs minor attention due to some un-evenness and trip hazard.

Clean rooms, good location and excellent staff

My partner, 1 year old and I had a wonderful stay at the Royal Cottages recently. The accommodation is clean, well located (near Mushroom Bay Beach) and the complex is small enough that you get to know the other guests. Ketut is an excellent communicator and is very helpful. He organised a day trip to Nusa Penida for us (with a car/driver and boat transfers), as well as transport between the island and airport in Denpasar. Everything was super smooth and went off without a hitch! I highly recommend staying here - not only is it great value, but the staff are genuine and really made our experience extra enjoyable!

Great time on this amazing island

Room was very nice and great bedding. Only 4 or 5 rooms, the place feels very cosy and pool is nice Nice staff taking care of the property and possibility to do boat trip on a local boat with the landlord

Nice stay

Outside area including the poll. The only room in all Bali that I found to have a mosquito net. The owner organises snorkeling tours for the manta rays in a small group which should be way better than the tours organised by companies with 20-25 people in one boat but of course comes with a higher price. We didn’t do it because we had already done a tour on the day before.

Reception just during the day. Breakfast limited as we could only choose between banana pancake (which was delicious!) or eggs and tea/coffee or juice. The owner tried to help us to organize a day trip to Nusa Lembongan and Nusa Ceningan however with very inflated prices.

A Heartwarming Stay: Familiar, Wonderful, and Unforgettable!

We had an incredible stay at this wonderful place in Nusa Lembongan! Ketut and his staff were not only friendly but also incredibly helpful throughout our entire stay. The familiarity of the place made it feel like a true home away from home. The warmth and hospitality extended by the staff created an inviting and relaxing atmosphere that instantly put us at ease. They were always there to assist us with anything we needed, whether it was recommendations for activities and restaurants or arranging transportation. The rooms were beautifully decorated and well-maintained, providing a perfect blend of comfort and traditional Balinese charm. Our stay here was, without a doubt, the highlight of our trip to Bali. We are already planning our next visit, and we'll definitely be returning to this amazing place. If you're looking for a delightful and memorable experience in Bali, I highly recommend staying here. You won't be disappointed! Not to forget: Mico (the dog) was always there to greet us with wagging tail every time we arrived with our scooter. Mico's presence added an extra layer of warmth and joy to our experience at this place. Thank you for everything!

Well priced deluxe accomodation

I booked a room very last minute and it exceeded my expectations. It was truly deluxe with attention to detail. The A/C was working well, there was also a fan for air movement. The room was spacious with a day bed and desk, the bathroom was bigger than some rooms I’ve stayed in! Relaxing location away from lots of noise. The owner was very helpful and friendly. I wish I could have stayed longer but they were fully booked.

Great location near warungs and small shops. We rented scooters to get around the island which was ideal - not for the faint of heart though. Make sure you know how to drive a scooter! The owner, Ketut and his staff are wonderful. We hired his boat for a snorkeling tour which was absolutely amazing! Snorkeled with manta rays and did a drift snorkel where the coral is beautiful and we saw turtles. You won't believe how beautiful the water is here.

Villa was fine. Noise was not.

The property was fine. Clean and comfortable. The staff were accommodating. We also did a snorkeling trip on the owners boat.

Unfortunately while we were there a religious festival was going on and the temple was nearby. The religious music and chanting was amplified throughout the area and it happened late into the night and started early in the morning. This was no fault on the owners of the villas however we chose to leave after a couple of days as it was really impacting our holiday.

Ketut is a really helpful host. we loved going out on the snorkelling trip he arranged. breakfast is good, pool is lovely and the location great. such good value for money. the location was for us the best on the island- Mushroom beach is best for swimming plus there are loads of places to walk to for dinner

Lovely place, with wonderful and friendly staff.

The place was lovely and the room exceed my expectations. Also, the owner/manager was able to organize a snorkeling activity, which was super nice since we got a chance to see fishes, corals and mantas - definitely would recommend you to do it. They lend us beach towels which were very handy to enjoy the beaches and beach clubs.

The wifi was not great but I guess that's not their fault since we were in an island. Other than even though the breakfast was very good, it would be good to have other options if you are staying more days, otherwise you end up eating the same thing.

Would stay again!

Friendly staff & owner, great location, very clean. The owner was very accommodating and we even went on a private snorkelling trip one morning to see the Manta Rays. The rooms are a good size and very clean, cleaned every day. Pool was perfect and enjoyed sunbathing by the pool in the mornings. would recommend to anyone staying in Nusa Lembongan!

Almost a 10/10 rating.. the breakfast was great and food tasted perfect. The only thing I would recommend is to offer something extra with the meals. Example - scrambled egg & toast + avocado (not just plain egg & toast), smoothie bowl option also would be unreal.

Pretty disappointed by the experience

Very nice pool, very polite and friendly staff. Well placed in Nusa Lembongan (5min from beach), restaurants very near (on the same road). Banana pancakes and fruit juices are very good

the smell in the bathroom is awefull (all the time), the toilet wasn’t flushing too often, the walls are paper thin, you can hear everything outside, others guests, other habitations, people smoking, everything gets inside the cottage. The door doesn’t close completely + the walls don’t go to the top of the roof (huge holes) which explain why we can here so easily. people from outside can also hear everything you are doing inside.

Superb

The staff here are so wonderful. They were incredibly helpful and kind. Different members of their family are involved in taking care of guests so you really feel like a member of the family. I can't speak highly enough of Ketut and Made. Thank you so much. The property only has 4 villas, which I loved. It was quiet and the beds and pillows are so comfortable. The location is good, only a short walk to Mushroom Beach. I will definitely be back!

Really lovely stay, wonderfull hosts who helped us organize everything.

The bed was super comfortable. Hosts are wonderful - Ketut owns a boat and took us on an amazing snorkeling trip to see mantas and the coral reef. He also organized a Nusa Penida trip for us and help us to buy the transfers to other islands. You can also rent a scooter on the spot. We spend the time in a best way possible and didn’t have to worry about the organization and planning. Breakfasts are very good and you can order them to your terrace :)

everything! location is perfect you can walk to all the main sites. the staff will also organise a bike and tours for you as well pick up and collection. yummy breakfast which can be eaten on your balcony. huge bathroom and lovely pool. beds are also comfortable

Great villas, relaxing place to stay.

We did not stay at Royal Cottage Nusa Lembongan we were transferred to Royal Retreat Nusa Lembongan. The description in booking.com was not what I expected with Royal Cottages, so I was given the choice to view Royal Retreat. They are run by the same owner. We stayed for 2 weeks and enjoyed a total relaxing stay at Royal Retreat Villas. Breakfast was a simple menu but beautifully cooked and prepared. The swimming pool was big, the rooms were kept exceptionally clean daily and the villas were very private. The restaurant was not open due to COVID times but the location was close to many restaurants , some in walking distance and some a short scooter ride away. Ketut, his wife and Ketut were exceptional and there was nothing that was too big to make sure our comfort and happiness was taken care of. Thank you Ketut, hoping to see you again on our next visit to Nusa Lembongan.

Fantastic place, beautiful and helpful owners and wonderful location!

We have just returned from a fantastic time at Royal Cottage on Nusa Lembongan. Family run business which we loved. Ketut and his family organised our transport and ferry as well. Lovely cottages with a very comfortable bed, huge bathroom, gorgeous pool and convenient location. We also did a personalised snorkel tour on Ketut’s own boat and toured around Cenigan and Lembongan islands on a scooter! Nice simple and delicious cooked breakfast and great coffee. Lembongan definitely has that “Old Bali” feel and we felt safe and welcomed by everyone.

With comfy beds, bungalows with thoughtful touches, a refreshing swimming pool, and a quiet and convenient location - their place ticks all the important boxes. Ketut can take guests on snorkeling tours to see manta rays, or he can assist in confirming speed boat reservations. Made cooks delicious breakfasts and always has a smile on her face.
