A Hidden Gem on the River

An amazing hostel. Being right on the river with a beautiful view of ducks and swans is incredibly peaceful. It is especially magical when it snows. Instead of going out to explore the city, we actually preferred spending time in our room. The staff are extremely helpful and do everything they can to make you feel comfortable. With its kitchen, bathroom, bedroom, and a balcony over the river offering a fantastic view, it’s a solid 10/10.

I honestly can’t find a single negative point. This is the best hostel I’ve ever stayed in — easily comparable to the quality of a 4-star hotel.

The room was Ok by the water very pleasant and comfortable.

The room we stayed in would need some refurbishments. Pity because for a few very little details it could be just super nice. The wardrobe panel should be refurbished, cracks in paint work, traces in the ceiling of ex smoke detector, the flushing in the bathroom can be deficient. Some details must be or should be attended too. The green plant should be attended too ASAP, or removed ... for who likes plants it depicts a very sorry state, we gave it water, I would have been very happy to take it home to revive it.

Fantastic people working there

Nice hotel on the water, if you like the sound of waves, you’ll enjoy it. Breakfast is simple and nice. Staff is amazing. They helped us and supported us, it was fabulous

The honest rating is: disappointing

The host was polite and the location was good.

This was my third time staying here, and my last visit was about seven years ago. Nothing has changed since then—except that everything is now seven years older and noticeably more run-down. My honest rating is: disappointing. Unfortunately, I won’t be coming back.

Beautiful River Views, but Overall Disappointing Stay

The floating hotel concept is truly interesting and gives the stay a unique atmosphere. Our room had a double-sided view of the river, and it was beautiful to watch the ducks and swans passing by. The staff was friendly, helpful, and always available.

The property is quite old and of low quality. The rooms do not feel comfortable, and it is difficult to relax. The bathroom is very worn out, the tap water is not drinkable, and the breakfast is generally poor, despite the staff’s effort. Additionally, a large boat named KANJON was parked next to us throughout the entire night, and its diesel engine was shaking the windows in our room.

Nice pet-friendly stay with a great kitchen and convenient self check-in.

* We stayed in the room shown in photo #114; it looked exactly as pictured. There were tea, coffee, a kettle, and mugs on the table, a nice touch. * Pet-friendly -- great for those traveling with animals. And even if you don’t have one, there’s a friendly cat that sometimes visits :) * The kitchen is excellent, very well equipped. Breakfasts are yammy. * No keys needed, just a code lock, which is super convenient if you plan to check out at an unusual time. * There’s free parking, not right next to the building but close enough. * A park with a running track nearby. nice if you like to jog. Our windows faced this park, not the river, so the view was a bit plain. But you can ask for another view (I recommend it).

- Because of the marathon taking place in the park, it was quite noisy at times — not a big issue, but something to be aware of. - The restaurants and cafes are a bit far away (it’s not in the old town, so it is expected). - The room felt a bit tight for two people -- it wasn’t really designed for two, so I’d recommend asking for a room without extra beds if you’re solo or a couple. For a company it is a great decision.

Great value for money and great hospitality

I really enjoyed the hospitality, Alexander is very open and generous, offers advice, guiding and friendship. We came in the middle of military parade and whole park was closed and he sent us prior ways of reaching the accommodation. The atmosphere is so warm!

Loved the experience

It is perfect location. The feeling of sleeping on the water was amazing. There was no movement because of a solid construction. Sitting on the balcony in the evening and enjoying the nature, fish swimming and making sounds in Danube river, the whole feeling of serenity is invaluable. At the same time, it is so close to the Belgrade centre. Staff working there is amazing too. Altogether it was a great experience. However make sure that you get the room with the river view. It is 30€ more expensive but makes a night and day difference.

Cleaning might be improved. Also the beds were not very comfortable. Parking a bit far (but free of charge!). Even with this I have no regrets, it is all worth it.

Beautiful peaceful boat on the Danube - but close to town!

What an amazing place - beautiful rooms, the walls are hand decorated, good little kitchen area and a wonderful terrace overlooking the Danube. The breakfast was divine - eggy bread / bundás kenyér! - along with meats, cheese, bread and jam. This area is also a bar and is open all night. There is a bus stop five minutes away and it is three stops into town and connections to many other routes. Transport is free. Staff fantastic - this is my second stay!

It was a great experience to stay near the river. The staff took care of everything we needed and since it’s close to city center we had no time wasted getting there and exploring the city.

Not bad, but probably won't repeat

Lovely location, friendly staff. Original idea in general to stay on a boat.

The hot water was coming and going. The room was advertised as deluxe double room, with a kettle - no kettle. Not very flexible with hours, had to pay for an additional two nights (my flight was very early in the morning so I had to pay a whole day in advance, same thing with last night, I practically paid for 6 nights and spent 4). The posterminal they have doesn't work with NFC and modern technology, the final some I paied was slightly higher than the one on the booking, probably conversion rate.

Great stay directly on the Danube River

ArkaBark is a very cute place with an alternative vibe located on the Danube. The location is perfect with everything within a 15-minute bus ride. The staff was friendly and welcoming. Breakfast options were excellent. We very much liked that there was ajvar and burek available. The room was spacious, and the bed was comfortable. The AC units are new, so the rooms were cooled down fast. Overall good value for money. I need to say that you need to be aware that, especially on the weekends, the music from bars/clubs will be loud until late at night. Therefore , bring a pair of earplugs. The free parking lot nearby (<10 min walk) is under video surveillance, which is great and definitely eased our minds.

Overall, the cleanliness of the room could be improved. There were a couple of huge spiders and spiderwebs around the room. Although nothing unusual since the hostel is in the middle of the park, it could have been taken care of. The extra bed had crumbs all over it. The silicone in the shower needs to be replaced on a couple of spots.

Relaxing Stay near the Danube River.

Excellent location, perfect morning with Birds, ducks and swans. Also we had a guard in the face of a cat staying in our Terrace all the time 🐈 The welcoming was way better than expected. I could feel the warm of Serbia on our Check in. Lastly, the beer that they suggested become my favourite one 😅

We were not expecting much, but the air conditioning was not properly working on the second day. It was like sauna in the room with 30+ C outside. The second thing was with the parking that is around 400-500 meters from the place. As we had a lots of luggage 🧳 it was not a good experience.

Rainy day in Belgrade in a lovely accommodation

It was a great big apartment on the boat and the view was great from the terrace. The location was great, too bad it was raining cats and dogs, but thank god the suite was great and we didn't mind spending the evening there.

The only good thing was the location.

"Breakfast lacked hygiene with limited options to choose from. Utensils were dirty, and the malfunctioning air conditioner caused a room floor leakage. Overall, our experience was unpleasant. I wouldn't recommend staying there if you value cleanliness and hygiene."

Superb

Calm, relaxed atmosphere. During the three nights I stayed at ArkaBarka I fell in love with the place !) The sunset on the Danube bank is magnificent 🌅 The slight bumpiness due to the increasing current of the river was unusual for me at first, but soon I even liked it. And many thanks to the staff for their work. Definitely recommend ArkaBarka to visit 👍

Unfortunately there were no swans ( mid-month July 2023 ), but ducks were nearby all the time. Also the bikes weren't available as according to the staff they were broken. Breakfast every day is monotonous, but rich - boiled eggs, toast, sausage, ham, cheese, salad ( tomatoes and cucumbers ), juice, tea or coffee to choose from.

Nice value for money

it’s very cool being on the river and very nice hospitality

advertises free parking where an actuality it’s street parking. they do not actually have parking at the location. if you can’t find street parking then you are out of luck. The air conditioner didn’t work so it was July and very hot.
