Apart from a couple of small niggles, we would highly recommend and definitely return.
We had a lovely stay at the Village Hotel in Edinburgh. A great location with bus stop literally at the door taking us into the Centre of Edinburgh. Breakfast was very good, although on the first day the bacon was so dry and clumped together many guests gave up trying to get a rasher. They also have installed electric chargers, and although not yet operational, this will also be great for me as an electric car driver. Would recommend.
Breakfast on day one wasn`t the best. Cold and bacon far too over cooked. Room wasn`t made up and had to ring reception to get fresh towels.

Really nice, staff were very friendly and helpful

Good for one time
Easy access to town centre, lots of facilities, free car park, friendly staff, nice Christmas decoration , comfy beds
Rooms are very basic compared to the prices, definitely not 4 * cleaning needs to be improved, shower screen was dirty and black mould. Breakfast is very average, with a white scrambled egg, dry mushrooms, dry stone croissants , and dirty mugs. There is a Starbucks inside, but coffee is very watery.

From the money walked in so welcoming and friendly reception staff
Stunning from the outside and inside, Starbucks topped it off
Nothing about the property but the breakfast was cold and not worth the money due to this

Was fine but I wouldn’t stay again.
The room was fine but never got any fresh towels at all during our 4 night stay nor toilet rolls. We had to ask the cleaner twice if we could take some
Food was poor. Breakfast finishes at 9am! Like seriously! Toilets were not great, my partner went in and someone had made a mess all over the toilet seat and I also saw something similar in the ladies. The leisure side was ok but a bit tired and run down

Half Term Break
Hi
We stayed in a family room from Tuesday October 28th to Friday October 31st. We had a 7 hour drive from stockport to your hotel which we booked because it had a swimming pool for the children as it was their half term holiday. However when we arrived at 4pm we unpacked and went to the pool from about 5pm. At 5.30pm we were told that our 14yr old son had to come out the pool because of the time. We were not aware that junior swim times were restricted this was not made clear on the booking. My son could not even sit out of the pool on the side and wait for us. One of us then had to leave the pool too so we could take him back to the room. The next day we went to St Andrews to see the University for my 18th year old daughter. It was a long day and drive. We were unable to swim again this day because we got back at 6pm and my son was not allowed to go into the pool again so we did not want to leave him alone in the bedroom. I appreciate the gym and pool is open to the public but we also paid a lot of money for 4 day stay with no breakfast included. This price outweighs any gym membership for a year. On the Friday Oct 31st when we could finally all go into the pool as a family from 9am an aerobics class was on up till 9.45am so two thirds of the pool were unaccessible. My husband and I were sitting in the sauna room with others. The assistant came in at 10am and said she had to clean it and we all had to move out of the sauna. Why would you clean at that time when you have been open from early hours. We have never had that done to people in all the hotels we have stayed in over the years. We had to then leave the pool by this time cause we had to check out by 11am. Our stay was definitely not value for money on this occasion. We only had 2 bath towels and 1 hand towel in the room when we arrived as a family of 4 people. I had to then go to reception and request more.

Pleasant stay
Room comfortable with all necessities, tea coffee making facilities, hair dryer, ironing board etc
Large double bed was comfy.
Bathroom and shower with plentiful towels.
Breakfast standard buffet style.
Grandchildren loved the football 'game' in reception area.
Breakfast would have been enhanced if the plates for the hot breakfast had been warm!

Very nice hotel with a good accessibility to the city. Nice swimming pool and nice staff.
Good location, the bus stops are close.
Nice and comfortable rooms with a good coffee machine .
The pub didn’t have gluten free options and it’s overpriced. Also to much hassle to order a gluten free meal.

Nice staff. Good gym and pool
Restaurant had a couple of healthy/ vegetarian options on the menu which had run out. Need more range. Even the salmon had run out.

The staff was exceptional, I would say that they were very friendly, professional and the highlight of our trip.
Everything was easy to find, the property was clean and the staff was incredible. I would say that the staff deserves the recognition, everyone was lovely and took care of us.
There’s not a lot to what I disliked about the property. The only minute detail was probably that we ordered a Sunday roast at 3pm and they ran out of beef. It was a shame but they still managed to replace our food and the staff was fully supportive and gave us options as alternatives.

Good for hotel on outskirts of the city
The interior and restaurant was nice. The breakfast was also good.
Our room was next to a cupboard which I believe was a storage tank so it was noisy at night.

Good, despite some shortage.
quietness and the room location was great, had an amazing view
Elevator smells bad, needs better ventilation
on the first day they didn't empty the bin, and on the last day, they put the towel aside with window instead of bathroom, also the coffee machine doesn't have water, so we have to put it by ourselves.

The location and large car park
There seemed to be some building work going on around the front of the hotel entrance.

I liked that it has a sauna, steam room, and jacuzzi as well as clean changing rooms
No fridge in the room and it's definitely not 4 star. I will give 3 and half

Spacious rooms and good location
The room was spacious and the beds were comfortable and location was good, great if you have a car.
Although our bathroom was clean, it had an extremely unpleasant smell that couldn’t be fixed, we spoke to receptionist on 3 occasions however they didn’t do much. The TV didn’t have many channels, no Netflix and no HDMI.

Staff was not friendly at all. Policies are not customer friendly. They didn’t even allow 10 mins late check out. Also, they didn’t clean the room despite of tagging make up my room. Breakfast was pathetic and they didn’t serve basic omelette as well

Just your average village hotel with exceptional customer service
Attentive staff and good location
Hiked prices as Oasis were playing in the city, cost more than double the usual rate.
Paid for the late check out but the key card stopped working at 1145am not 1300pm.

Great facilities and good location for the city
The facilities at the hotel are great and the location for getting into the city is ideal (£8 - £10 Uber)
Gym and pool are excellent with the added bonus of a Starbucks on-site. The restaurant and staff were also very good.
This is a personal opinion but the beds aren’t great - they have a very think topper that makes them very spongey and warm - the pillows were either rock hard or non existent, we also had a noisy air-con system and extractor fan, so struggled to sleep with the noise.

Nothing.
Our stay at Hotel Village in Edinburgh was a disaster. We booked two rooms at £275 per room, expecting a comfortable stay, but what we got was a series of issues that made our experience unbearable.
The toilet sink in our room was clogged, and on a hot day, the air conditioner didn't work. We reached out to the staff multiple times for help, even as late as 3 am, but despite their efforts, they couldn't resolve the issues. One staff member's suggestion to open the windows for ventilation was impractical, given that the windows were jammed shut.
What's more, the manager wasn't helpful in addressing our concerns. Instead of taking responsibility, they directed us to contact (link unavailable) for refunds. This lack of accountability was disappointing, especially considering the premium price we paid.
To add insult to injury, we also paid £75 per room for breakfast, only to be served horrible food. Given the subpar experience and exorbitant prices, I would strongly advise against staying at Hotel Village in Edinburgh. The hotel failed to deliver on its promises, and we left feeling frustrated and disappointed.

Awful experience will not be back
Reception staff and two young guys at bar were helpful.
Restaurant staff member (bald chap) was so rude when we asked for our starter and main course separately.
We were then given a scalding hot pot of beans for our 4 year old I couldn’t remove off the plate as it was so hot.
We were then given chilli instead of chicken tikka and when we questioned this the same server said we were wrong and was so rude.
The tikka arrived 10mins later and was so chewy it was inedible.
We found a dirty sock in our room.
The shower wasn’t cleaned and had hair and conditioner left in it from previous guests
Restaurant table at breakfast was still covered in crumbs as was the seats

Great hotel and gym - highly recommend
Easy check in and check out, room was very spacious, gym was great, lively atmosphere in the lobby and restaurant and good parking/transport links.
Room decor could be slightly updated, but absolutely fine for a short stay.

Overall good but in need of some decorative/menu updates.
Travelling with 2 kids and one adult we got a double/double room. Good size plenty of space, room very clean if a little tired. Pool facilities good and also clean, busy at kids times but we were ok with this. Avoid if you're not with kids. Staff friendly, efficient and generous - great with kids. Starbucks handy but could do with a facelift - heavily ripped burst seat covers made the place look a bit untidy.
Pub/restaurant a bit disappointing. Wasn't expecting anything amazing but maybe slightly more than Wetherspoons style from a 4 star. Food of the frozen/reheated variety and very little options if you don't eat meat or dairy. Despite this the staff in the restaurant were really nice and efficient.

A very warm welcome when we checked in at 10.30 after an 8 hour drive…..
This was an additional night to our 3 night stay that was already booked. Again the lad on reception was superb and very helpful.
