Loved it - woke to a lovely snowy morning for our last day. We hope to host Ria in Australia one day

The location is excellent - we didn't have a car so needed to be able to walk into town. The room: apartment is very clean and roomy with a lovely big bathroom. Yea coffee and cold drinks available in the room. A brilliant breakfast cooked by the host and enjoyed in the dining room at their home - still private - Ria is lovely and very helpful- her husband offered to drive us to the train station and help with bags etc. if you want to explore Ypres and experience homely hospitality don't look past this place .

Very convenient for the Menin Gate, and therefore the centre of Ypres

The breakfast is seperate to the booking, but was lovely. Fresh bread plus a croissant/cake, cereals, fruit, juice, ham, cheese, tea etc, was ample such that we only needed a small snack luchtimes. The parking in Ypres can be difficult, but there is an off road parking space by the property, and the property is maybe five minutes slow walk to the Menin Gate.

We would have preferred two easy chairs in the room rather than just the one, but this was not a problem and we were perfectly comfortable as it was.

A Perfect Base for Any Visit to Ypres!

We had a wonderful 4 nights stay in September at Villa Vauban and thoroughly enjoyed our time there. Ria and Lorenzo have done a fabulous job of creating a beautiful home that they share with their guests. Their friendly welcome and warm hospitality meant that we settled in immediately and they couldn't do enough for us during our stay. Located within 2 minutes stroll of the Menin Gate, Villa Vauban offers a perfect location to enjoy the delights that Ypres has to offer, with the added bonus of free onsite parking, and is close to so many other important visitor sites. Our room was very spacious, comfortable and well equipped, and Ria kindly resupplied teabags and topped up the small fridge daily with fresh bottled water. A delicious breakfast is available on request and we highly recommend it - we took advantage of that on two mornings - Thank you Lorenzo for collecting the amazing local fresh bread! The bed was very comfy, the bathroom spacious with a walk-in shower, and the room was provided with a bistro table and chairs, coffee making (pods), kettle, cups and glasses - enough to make any visit comfy. Thank you so much Ria for making our visit so enjoyable - we hope to return to Ypres again in future and we'd love to visit again when we do!

This is a superb b and b with everything top quality .A really lovely breakfast and a perfect location for exploring Ypres . As a base for following a battlefield tour it has everything. Fabulous place to stay.

Beautiful place to stay in a peaceful area and within 5 minutes walk of the Menin Gate and town square. Only 2 rooms, both spacious with everything you need. The owners are lovely and speak good English. Our motorbikes were safe on the driveway as there is CCTV coverage plus there's very little passing traffic.

Villa Vauban is an absolute gem for anyone looking for an outstanding place to stay in Ieper.

Ria and Renzo were charming hosts in their beautiful house, ably assisted by their feline counterparts Victor and Stella. Superb location only a couple of minutes walk away from the city but quiet and peaceful. Breakfast was a highlight of the day. Off-road parking available with separate entrance to the spacious and well-appointed guest accommodation.

Superb

Amazing super central location BUT quiet! Superb, super organised friendly hosts. Room is a large size with everything you could need - coffee machine, kettle, small fridge with some complimentary water and beers. Comfortable seating also. Car parking on front of property. We only booked on the morning of arrival and so hosts sent us videos of where to park and how to enter property etc. Breakfast lovely with juice, fruit, yoghurt, croissant, baguette, egg, ham, cheese etc.

Great location close to Menin Gate and other WW1 sites. Ria was a fantastic host: friendly and helpful (even helped with sorting a minor car issue!). Delicious breakfasts served on terrace. Electric bikes for rent!

A beautiful apartment in a lovely location, only five minutes walk along the canal to the Menin Gate. A sleek clean modern apartment with a comfortable bed and good shower.

Unfortunately we missed Ria's great hospitality and breakfast as she was away, but we were still made welcome by her sister-in-law, who helped answer all our needs.

Everything. Our hosts, Ria and Lorenzo, were exceedingly friendly, helpful and kind. Location could not be better as was every aspect of Villa Vauban. Hopefully, we will stay again when the Menin Gate is reopened.

Fantastic accommodation. Lovely private room with own entrance just off the main house. Parking on site. Room was so comfortable and overlooked the rear of the property. Very comfortable and very clean. Breakfast is served in the main house and is just sublime. Perfect hosts who take pride in their home and guests and just make your stay perfect. It’s a 5 minute walk into the beautiful historic Ieper. Some very good restaurants.

Everything from the welcome, the hospitality, the sense of arriving safely after a long drive to clean, quiet, beautiful accommodation. we appreciated the extra touches - complimentary drinks in the fridge, information about where to eat and go. Breakfast was gorgeous and well worth it - fresh and lots of variety. It's the perfect location, four minutes walk to the Menin Gate on the quiet side. The photos do not do this lovely guesthouse justice - you really have to go there.

We hadn't appreciate that they didn't take electronic payment - our fault as we were on the road when that email arrived so hadn't picked it up. 100% our fault. We loved that Ria offered the loan of her bike to go to the bank! I'd advise anyone planning to stay there to get the relevant banking apps as I'm sure other guesthouses have the same arrangement.

Beautiful home, perfect location, amazing hosts - the best place to stay in Ypres.

The Guesthouse was perfectly positioned and so central to all the facilities in Ypres. Just a quick walk to the nightly Menin Gate nightly Last Post Service, to the cafes, restaurants and beer halls. Ria and Lorenzo were absolutely perfect hosts, so welcoming and inviting, and they have a truly magnificent home. We will definitely be returning in the future.

The only think I didn’t like was having to say Good Bye, we loved the place.

Beautiful property.

Excellent facilities and ideal location for walking into Ypers (5 mins to Menen gate). Ria's attention to detail is exceptional, there was even European adapters in the room. The room was spotlessly clean and very comfortable. There was more than enough to eat for breakfast, enough to set you up for the day. We will deffinately stay here again.

Location was excellent just a few mins walk into town. The house and the hosts are very very nice and having just returned to England it really shows just how the quality of everything abroad is just so much better. Would absolutely love to return!

The greeting from Ria was very warm and we were immediately made to feel welcome. The room is very warm and comfortable with tea and coffee making facilities in it. The location is great - in a quiet side street away from the town center but only a three or four minute walk to the Menin Gate and Grote Markt. There is off street parking at the property with CCTV to keep an eye your car - and Ieper is a very safe town anyway. There are some extremely good restaurants in Ieper!

What can I say...fabulous stay. Ria and Lorenzo are wonderful hosts, nothing was too much trouble for them. The room was gorgeous, the bed super comfy, the location just fantastic. 2 minute stroll to the Menin Gate, 5 minutes to the market square with all its cafes and restaurants. Thoroughly recommend and will definitely be back again.

Quite simply the best B&B we have ever stayed in

We have no hesitation recommending this B&B to anyone visiting Ieper or the surrounding area. The house is beautiful, two minutes walk from the Menin Gate with parking on camera. We stayed for two nights in July, the room was spacious with a king size bed and a seating area. The bed was comfortable and we slept very well. There is a fridge and cold drinks provided in the room which was very welcome as we stayed during a heatwave. The breakfast is highly recommended, a different selection each day and all delicious. The weather was lovely so we were able to have breakfast on the terrace which was fab. Ria and Lorenzo are wonderful hosts who made us very welcome in their home.
