Do stay here

The location couldn't be better. We loved the balcony overlooking the lake and the flying Santa during the Christmas Market. The room was huge, a wonderful surprise. It is older, but it has a dated charm. Quite cozy. The woman at the front desk is a delight. The hotel has a lift. Although Montreaux is a bit hilly, there are public elevators between the train station and the hotel which makes traveling with luggage easy. The price was quite fair. I don't hesitate recommending this hotel and I would definitely stay here again.

The lobby is not very inviting. At first sight I was apprehensive, but the front desk lady and the room made up for it. Other guests were very nice. Nothing sketchy here. Breakfast could be better, but I think this is quite common in the French part of Switzerland. They aren't big on breakfast. The German areas are better for this.

Location and view were amazing. The lovely lady on reception was friendly and helpful. Rooms a good size and the beds very comfortable. A fantastic selection for breakfast.

A little bit of Montreux

Great central location, easy to get to/ from the train station with a few minutes walk. Infront is a great view of the lake. Walking distance to christmas market and short tram ride to Chillon Castle. Very accessible to tourist sites. Had a room set up surprise prepared by staff for my birthday with flowers, petals, candles and champagne. Breakfast was basic. Room was cozy. Good heating in the room.

Could use a side table and a mini fridge. Staff needs to be at breakfast to attend to refills and table cleaning as patrion has broken a glass and was not able to find staff to sweep the floor for broken glass.

Cheap and cheerful, slightly quirky in an exceptional location.

Modest yet comfortable accommodation in an outstanding location. Very close to lake Geneva with easy access to Montreux trains, buses and supermarkets. Adequate breakfast.

Beautiful views- great restaurants- an historical property that generations have utilized- what else does one need!

The front desk staff is very good- kind and informative about the area! It’s a great location - train station is minutes away- cross the street- down an elevator turn left- you are there! It’s a hotel from the 1800’s -yet is clean- quiet and has a great shower! Lots of great eats nearby- the Lac across the street! Location-Location If flash is not your need- then historical simplicity might just be!

The location with a lakeside view was excellent. Walking distance to train station and Chillon castle. Bus stop out the front to get to Vevey

We paid to have breakfast at the hotel but it was a very sad breakfast. Just bread, cake and packet food mostly. No meats or cheeses or fruit. Had I know we would have eaten elsewhere.z

Great option for travelers looking for something central at a reasonable price.

The room was good value for money. Beds comfortable and clean. Bathroom very clean. The room was quiet. Breakfast was available, but we didn’t try it. Great location directly across from the lake! Convenient local parking across the road. Concierge was very responsive and accomodating. Would recommend for budget travellers.

Not well kept

The location was convenient and the rooms were quiet.

I didn't have a good experience here. Perhaps it was a one off, but my tiny room had a sink that leaked. The water dripping in the bucket under the sink kept me awake (and reminded me of the Chateu du Chillon dungeon). Though I emptied the bucket 3 times during the night it still overflowed in the morning. Finally, my door got jammed if it was closed so I couldn't lock it and needed to prop it open when I went out. My single night stay culminated with getting stuck inside the apart when the door jammed nearly missing my train. Not a relaxing stay.

The portable a/c bucket was so horribly loud, it was impossible to sleep at night. Also, it could not be moved so as to fully open the window and enjoy the lake view I payed for. The Hotel is overall outdated. Towels worn out, bed linen average. Breakfast was airline quality, both days I had breakfast at another Hotel nearby. I requested a breakfast refund at the reception and waiting for it to be reimbursed.

Avoid this hotel at all costs as you will be very disappointed.

I stayed in room overlooking the lake with a balcony as requested. The bed was comfortable and the room was clean but sparse of furnishings. A very basic room for the price.

The bathroom had a mini kids toilet which was uncomfortable. There was no vanity or shelf on which to place personal items. The radiator in the bedroom did not work and there was no air conditioning. There was only one (1) electrical point for charging cell phone etc. The TV listing sheet bore no relevance to what channels were actually available, with very few choices. There were also two big cracks in the wall. In total a very overpriced disappointing visit. To sum up, this hotel is badly in need of renovation or tearing down.

Well placed, bed okay, but drab and uncomfortable. Okay for a night, but no more.

Located right on the lake front, and walkable from the railway station. Very close to the lake boat pier. Sheets and bathroom were clean and the bed comfortable.

The hotel was the bare minimum, most basic imaginable. Just the rooms. And the room was almost bare - no carpet or armchair, hard floor, bare walls. The shower was just about acceptable. The balcony, with its rainsoaked astroturf and screens with plastic climbing plants, was a major disappointment. The place was unwelcoming and uncomfortable. We were glad we were only there for one night.
